How to Import SMS to my Nokia N70

Hi,
Guys, i need your help. I want to import my old sms messages (currently saved in my pc in .vmg format) to my nokia N70. Is there any way to do so, currently these messages are copying in my drafts folder. I want to import these in my inbox.

1 vmg File Format (this is copy msg...)
2 csv File Formate (this is import msg as one file...)

How to import sms and mms data from 6600 to N73

Hi to all, I'm trying to import all my old data on my nokia 6600, to my new N73 ME, fw rel V 3.0368.0.0.30, because I don't like the idea to lose all my sms and mms from the old phone. I encountered a lot of problems. First thing, the transfer apps only leaves to import via bluetooth and so on data like contacts and multimedia. So I tried to copy from dir mail of the mmc of Nokia 6600 to the dir mail2 under hidden folder Private on the mini sd of my new N73. What happens? In the first moment it seems all ok, because when I switch under sms to memory cards, the N73 read all the sms like they were on phone. But first of all, it doesn't see the mms, it see only the title, but when I open them it gives me error. This doesn't happens with sms, that are all ok. The problem is that when I turn off the phone, it doesn't turn on anymore, it hangs until I've to remove the mini SD. After many tries, I've understood that maybe the problem is with the file index in mail2 folder. Someone has any idea or have tried to import sms and mms from his old Nokia phone to the new N73 and so could help me? Thanks.

have u actually tried to connect the 6600 with the latest PC suite to see what happens?
if that fails, maybe have a look at the Oxygen Phone Manager software and see if they offer a free trial. i know i used to use OPM before nokia updated there PC suite to work with my 3230Message Edited by rich_enduro on 02-Jan-2007

No SMS Support for Nokia N70 in 10.4.9

I've just updated to Mac OS 10.4.9, hoping there would new support added for the Nokia N70 and Bluetooth SMS via Address Book.
Has anyone had any success without the use of third party software?
My guess is to wait for Leopard.
In the meanwhile, I'll put in a request into Apple and sit and wait.

I have been using a Nokia N70 with my Mac mini for over a year now. I first got bluetooth working with address book from a hack (old nokia phone) I found in these forums. Phone answering / logging and SMS receive and sending all worked from address book.
I now have reduced functionality. Address book can still connect to me phone. Phone answering / logging still works however, SMS sending seems to be intermitant and SMS recieving does not show on the screen at all.
I have seen that in the recent updates Nokia N70 has been added to the list of compatible phones.
Has anyone had similar experiences? Have you found a solution?

I did encounter same problem when tried to import VCF's from Samsung to sd card and then into icloud.com. I still do not have solution, sorry. Just want to make sure that I understood you correctly. I want to clean up my iphone and free memory – apparently I have a ridiculous amount of messages + attachments that are stealing space. Within are some really important personal memories that I want to store on my laptop instead for the future.
So:
I am looking for suggestions on any good software that will do the trick. Preferably something that will store message strings as they are (i.e. pics and all). Any recommendations?

How to import old iPhone SMS.CSV file into new iPhone?

Hey everyone,
So I've spent a couple days on this as I just upgraded to the iPhone5S from my 4S. Long story short, my backup restore didn't work after multiple tries (gave me the file is corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone error).
I tried:
-reinstalling itunes
-updating itunes
-combining the 5S backup with the old 4S backup
-tinyumbrella
and a few of other things as I've forgot now.
The most important things I needed was the contact list and SMS history. I've got the contact list from extracting is successfully from the iTunes backup folder and using iCloud, but cannot figure out how to import the SMS.CSV file into my iPhone5S.
Any suggestions on how I can get my SMS messages from my iPhone4s into my 5S?
If anyone has any other suggestions on getting my Backup Restore to work that would be awesome too!

A word on SMS text messages. It is pracitcally impossible to import an SMS text-messages file to a new iPhone and have the Messages app on the new device read the messages.
You can transfer, however contacts and other individual data (such as calendars and notes) from one iphone to the next. I had my old Nokia which whose contacts I exported to a CSV file. I then imported the file to my iphone which converted the file into multiple contacts in the Contacts app on the iphone. You can use a contact management app such as this one in order to import the contact file to the new iPhone.

I have my current phone for about five years and I have there many important messages I can't afford to lose. I know, that exporting messages is often tricky (my old phone is using Windows Mobile 6), but there are some programs that can export messages to various formats (.xml, .txt, .sms etc.). But the question is, how to import these messages into iPhone.
Is it possible via iTunes? Is there an app? Sould I visit Apple Store or support? Thank you for any ideas.

depend on how it's stored
when you connect your iphone to your computer and open your itunes on the computer
and click on the iphone under devices and get the iphone content menu you can
click on the info tab on the content menu
there you can choose how you will be syncronizing contacts to your iphone
if what you mean by "is stored in windows vista" is avaible in the dropdownbox then choose
that otherwise you need to export the contacts from the "stored by windows vista" to an options
present in the dropdownbox
the most easy thing would be using an export to pst and import from pst in microsoft outlook as it is pretty compabile with many things

There is a backup-restore.sh script for backing up and restoring Firefox OS data, but I am not aware of any tools available to import this data from other systems.

How can I simply re-send SMS from N-device (N70)?

I'm not sure but situation looks quite stupid. I have SMS in "Sent" box and need to re-send it, i.e. send same text to same recipient, but I cannot find any "civilized" way of doing that.
Am I blind or Nokia made this monkey design of SMS options?
I compared with my backup phone (cheap model of Sony-Ericsson) and there I can press Forward - Insert Recepient and then list of phones pops up, including number of original recepient of the message.
Nothing like that is possible in Nokia so-called "smartphone" - I cannot even copy number of recepient to clipboard from SMS message located in "Sent" box. Nokia even does not allow me to move message e.g. to "Drafts" where I could edit it.
Did I miss some simple step? Feel myself confused...
If there are really no way to extract number from Sent SMS and use it in new SMS, may be Nokia engineers could make small pocket on backside of the phone - you know, for small pencil and piece of paper, because it seems the only way to re-use the number.Message Edited by sidream on 31-Jul-200705:04 PM

No problem I can explain if you like:
1) many messages are sent in hurry - somobody dictates you a number and you think what to send - there's simply no time to enter number in address book
2) in general I don't like to enter ANY numbers on telephone in address book at all, Nokia has terrible PIM and calendar (and two-way PC sync), so I prefer to enter all data directly on PC in Outlook, and later sync it to Nokia (but not vice versa). That's separate issue, but also deserves to be mentioned here.
3) there are some service messages with my GSM provider, that have to be sent sometimes - to reset daily limits on incoming web-originated SMS, etc. It would be much easier just to "resend" this message.
4) sometimes my close people whom I ask something by SMS just forget to do what I'm asking, so it's easy just to resend SMS with same content to the same person, just to remind her/him I'm missing reply or action on their side.
More ideas? Enough for me....
