How to import whole database (with data) from remote server?

I am using oracle sql developer 2.1. Our main database server is in USA, we use this from Bangladesh. We also a local copy here time to time updataed.
Is there any way copy or migrate the whole database with data from usa server to our local serve using sql developer 2.1?
we use windows server 2003 service pack 2 in local server.

I replied to you in Import Data wizard not found and stand by my suggestions.

First of all read documentation

If you are using Datapump or Traditional Export/import you need to follow following steps
*1) Take User dump via EXPDP on Computer A .*
For EXP
exp username/password owner=Test file=D:\test.dmp log=D:\test.log
For EXPDP
expdp username/password schemas=TEST directory=TEST_DIR dumpfile=TEST.dmp logfile=TEST.log*2) Copy that to Computer B*
*3) Import dumpfile.*
For IMPDP Use remap_schema optionhttp://www.acehints.com/2012/05/data-pump-impdp-remapschema-parameter.html
For IMP use fromuser and touser option

As you are working with Old version of Oracle, then Oracle data pump would not be applicable to in order to carry out. So, in order to complete the export and import from prior version either you need to upgrade the version of Oracle so that you can make use of upgrade tools or either clone it or make sure you create required things prior to import on destination database. from a txt file into 3 columns of a table. I can easily do it into a textarea component by

All table components seem to need a database. I do not use any database. I run exe files that give output to txt files. How to solve it?

there may be another way. This is some thing some thing I can recommend. You can create property type of ObjectListDataProvider in session or application based on the scope you required. Create web bean class with property you want to show in the column (say col1, col2, col2). Initialize the list property like similar below

Doesn't it gives me a less optimized approach picking one column per query (per variable)?
Lets say, I have to pick 35 columns from a table and put those in 35 variables...It would mean running 35 queries for fetching one record from the database table.
Doesn't it seem less performance effective (less optimized)..a little scary..any thing better that I can do to make it more optimized?
Another question, what if multiple new values have come in the DB table, since I am using Refresh Variable, would this variable have multiple values in it?

How to import sms and mms data from 6600 to N73

Hi to all, I'm trying to import all my old data on my nokia 6600, to my new N73 ME, fw rel V 3.0368.0.0.30, because I don't like the idea to lose all my sms and mms from the old phone. I encountered a lot of problems. First thing, the transfer apps only leaves to import via bluetooth and so on data like contacts and multimedia. So I tried to copy from dir mail of the mmc of Nokia 6600 to the dir mail2 under hidden folder Private on the mini sd of my new N73. What happens? In the first moment it seems all ok, because when I switch under sms to memory cards, the N73 read all the sms like they were on phone. But first of all, it doesn't see the mms, it see only the title, but when I open them it gives me error. This doesn't happens with sms, that are all ok. The problem is that when I turn off the phone, it doesn't turn on anymore, it hangs until I've to remove the mini SD. After many tries, I've understood that maybe the problem is with the file index in mail2 folder. Someone has any idea or have tried to import sms and mms from his old Nokia phone to the new N73 and so could help me? Thanks.

have u actually tried to connect the 6600 with the latest PC suite to see what happens?

How to populate a ComboBox with data from a WebService

I have a simple application that has a DataGrid that gets its
data from a web service. I would prefer to put that data into a
ComboBox instead of a DataGrid. My web service returns objects.
Anyone have any idea how to do that?

I tried that but it doesn't work. However, I just found part
of the solution and that was to add labelField="projectName".
That worked. Now, I want to glue together projectID with
projectName and a dash between them. So I changed it to labelField
= "projectID - ProjectName" and that causes the combo box to
display [Object] [object].
Any ideas how to glue those items together?

How to transfer BLOB type of data from SQL Server to Oracle

Hi,
Actually, I create a table with BLOB type data in SQL server. In fact, there is not exact BLOB type in SQL server, it will be separated to image and ntext types. But there is exact BLOB type in Oracle.
I don't know how to transfer this "BLOB" type into Oracle with DTS or any other methods.

The fact that Excel can import a csv file doesn't make it an excel file.
If you have a csv file then you must use a csv driver or just use other code (not jdbc) to access it. There is, normally, a ODBC (nothing to do with java) text driver that can do that.

How to import flat file with date in filename on a regular basis

Hi,
Using OWB 11gR1
I have a file that will be delivered to an FTP each night with the date in the filename having the form YYYYMMDD-FILE.txt (ex: 20100326-FILE.txt) that I want to import to an external table.
Now I've set up the import to the external table but am only able to import files that I specify the name for exactly. I've tried pointing to filenames such as "*-FILE.txt" and "%-FILE.txt" but that only results in errors.
It must be possible to automatically import files with different filenames but the same structure, or isn't it? Could anyone help me solve this it'd be greatly appreciated.

For dynamic files you can;
1. either do the DDL on the external table to point to the file with the changing name
2Copy the file to a fixed name before using the external table/maps
3. Use the preprocessor to cat/pipe these files for the external table. See the post here http://blogs.oracle.com/warehousebuilder/2009/06/file_staging_using_external_table_preprocessor.html it shows using gunzip but could simply be doing 'cat' on a bunch of files to standard output

How to replace song metadata with data from iTunes store?

I have a rather large itunes library. A long time ago I tried to simplify the genres in my library and changed the genres of most tracks from what they were in the itunes store. Now I would like to change the generes (and all metadata) of all the tracks I own that have matches in the itunes store to what they are in the itunes store. Can this be done? I have subscribed to itunes match if it matters. Thanks.

Thanks ed2345 but I already thought of that. Unfortunately for me but fortunately for many many others, doing that maintains all metadata changes you've made to any tracks. I would think they would simply have a menu dropdown or right click option that says something like "replace metadata with itunes store" or something to that effect.

How to update SQL Database with totals from Crystal Report

I am converting a Crystal Report done using CR 11 and VB6 to VB.Net and Visual Studio 2010. The report is now working fairly well but there is 1 last thing to figure out. In the vb6 version there was a report footer event that I used to update the report totals to a record in a database table.
It appears that in the .net version we have less events to allow outside processing to occure when a report is produced. Looking thru the available events I don't see a way to do this. Would some be so kind as to suggest a way this might be accomplished?

Only thing I can think of is the InProc RAS SDK and using the RowSet Controller to query the footer, then parsing out the info you need to submit to the database.

Most of the times, masterdata is transferred between servers through ALE. This is considered to be one of the best and efficient ways of transferring data. You can try this too.
BDCs are another way (which can be done through LSMW or through a custom made program.
