HOW TO IMPORT WINDOWS ALLOWED APPLICATIONS

Dear,
I have finally set-up the XP Group Policy.
I now need to import a list of windows allowed applications.
I have more than 500 entries.
I just can not beleive that you have to MANUALLY enter them.
Is there a tool that enables you to that that automatically?
If yes, please, let me know.

Hello,
APEX supports backward compatibility. It means that 3.2 version can run any application that was developed in earlier versions.
In your case, just export the full application from 3.0 and import it in the 3.2

there is Windows emulation software called Wine that can run many (but by no means all) Windows programs without needing a Windows installation. It is gratis, but on OS X you need to compile Wine yourself; they do not have precompiled downloadable disk images for OS X. However, a company called CodeWeavers does offer a precompiled version of Wine called CrossOver Mac for OS X, but it costs $59.95. They do have a gratis 14-day trial version, so you could download that to see if your lone Windows application would work well under OS X with it.

How To Import Windows Fonts

Hello Everyone
I am new to managing fonts and am in the process of designing a web site for someone who uses Windows not OSX. He really likes their Broadway font. I don't have this no my iMac. I have been searching all over the forums but can not see a thread that explains how to export all the Windows fonts off a PC I have running XP to my iMac. I am in the process of downloading a trial copy of Suitcase as many threads mentioned this as the application to do it (still not sure myself though).
It would be great if I could move copies of all the fonts that my PC has over to my Mac so that I don't run into this issue in th future. Can anyone provide me with the step by step guide to doing this?

Hi David -
Although Suitcase is a fine app you don't need it for this as long as the fonts are compatible. Most TrueType & OpenType fonts are, but I would hesitate to simply try to use all - especially since some are already on both... such as those included with MS Office & certain other apps.
On the PC access the Fonts folder through an explorer window, copy the desired font(s)to a folder on the desktop. Either copy/move that to a USB drive or other sharable media - or email them to yourself as an attachment. When you open the folder on the Mac those that are usable will have a recognized icon - any with a generic icon you can assume are not Mac-compatible.
Drag the good ones to your User fonts folder or use Font Book/Suitcase to install the fonts. I'd suggest doing so a few at a time & launch a program between goups to insure there isn't any 'hiccup'. That way it's easier to narrow down the culprit if there is a problem.
Just try to avoid duplicates & don't be surprised if Word as well as other programs take a little longer to launch the first time afterwards if you install a lot of new fonts.

How do I import email address from my Windows Mail (or Outlook Express) into my Nokia e71?
I can save the addresses as .csv or .wab file, but what next?
Please note I am not trying to build my phone contact book. I already have all names and phone numbers in there. I need to import email addres from my PC email client (Windows Mail) into my Nokia email client (either the one inbuilt into e71 or the new email messaging that I downloaded from email.nokia.com).

How to import Windows .contact files??

Hi all, I'm playing the newbie card here and trying fellow mac users for help!!
I've just brought my first mac (finally...) and i'm trying to switch everything over from windows to OSX. My problem is that I have a directory full of Vista/win7 .contact files in microsofts XML format with all my contact info in for all my friends, family etc that i want to import into the mac Address Book.
Does anyone know of a way to do this or even a program that does it? I've tried googling for an answer but all i seem to find is how to get the contacts from .pst files etc..

Microsoft has a PST Importer for Entourage 2004 (look down in the bottom right). I don't see one for Entourage 2008; maybe it can do this directly.

I have been using Play on Mac and Wine for the past couple of weeks, but now suddenly it has stopped working, only crashing and giving me nightmares. Is it juts best to install the latest Windows or Parallel?

Meta Trader 4 is Windows only - Office is available for the Mac and Windows and are mostly compatible but given that you'll be doing online trading you may prefer the Windows version of Excel since there are financial spreadsheets with macros that only run on the Mac with some significant editing.
You can install Windows 7 or 8 in BootCamp or any version of Windows usting virtualization. VMWare and Parallels are commercial programs and VirtualBox is open source. VB may be all you need. Whatever solution you choose, you'll need a commercial version of Windows (or get an OEM disc from NewEgg).

Apex is built to make this process as smooth as possible.
In 4.x, there is a Utilities section for your application with an Upgrade Application option that provides a summary of all the components that can be "upgraded"
Apex tries to leave your application alone as much as possible, and in this report you'll see things like Date Picker items that can be automatically upgraded to the jQuery version. You can choose which components to automatically process.
The most trouble you'll have is if you have included any external libraries such as jQuery and there may be syntax differences, now that Apex 4.x includes jQuery components.

How to import jar for application in Jdev

I encountered one issue, I import one project in jdev, but class path and jar lib path is incorrect, so I delete all invalid path, and add valid jar path at Project Properties.. -> Libraries and class path
but it still popup can not find reference jar, can anyone do some suggestion about this issue?

Well, the most current version is 11.1.2.3.0 but that should not matter in your case :)
Go to tools->Manage Libraries and select the library containing your missing jar. Make sure that the check box deploy by default' is set and try again.

OIA 11g - Unable to import users to applications

We are unable to assign users to applications in OIA. We have imported users successfully as well as accounts, but we are unsure how we can assign (import) specific users to applications. The OIA documentation describes importing of users, accounts, roles, policies, but not how to import users to applications?

Applications are a new thing and you cannot do this within the GUI, you have to do this the 'old-style' way by hard-coding this within the .xml files
Part 2
You will need to alter the cron expression within the scheduling.context.xml file located in the <OIA_HOME>/WEB_INF folder.
Find the bean called ="userApplicationMaintenanceTrigger" (probably 2/3rds down in the file) then add a valid cron expression (If you don't know cron-expressions then google it)
Though the example below will run the user/application relationship trigger every 5mins
