HOW TO IMPROVE TEXT VIDEO QUALITY.

HI, I have a video I am making to explain mathematical calculation which I produced using keynote; This video was made by exporting the keynote document using quicktime; then edited with iMovie and exported using quicktime with the following  option:
compression DVCPRO50 - PAL,
compressor: high
Scan mode : Progressive
Aspect ratio : 16:9
Size Dimension : PAL 720 X 576 16:9
Audio 48000
On toast, the video was imported to the DVD-Video window and using the following encoding optios the video was burn on the dvd.
Video Format : MPEG-2
Average Bitrate: 7.5
Maximum Bitrate: 8.5
Motion Estimate: Best and the Half-PEL was ticked
Other available optins in the window is Automatic.
the video I finally obtained on dvd was blur/not sharpe and fade in colour compare to the original videos.
Any help on what I can do to inprove the quality of my video on dvd?
Thanks.
Skimy Kinyot.

Hello Tom,
Let me clarify: Typically, I am viewing the material on a flat screen TV.
But it was also projected on a big screen in a movie theater for a film festival. (DVD player plugged to a projector)
For the TV screen, I would say the quality is not great but acceptable.
But on a large movie theater screen the artefacts are very visible.
What can I do to improve the quality for a projection?
Cheers.

  • CCME : how to improve the video quality on VideoOverIP

    Hi,
I'm testing Video OVer IP between a CCM and a CCME.
Whe the call is on, the video quality are different :
from the CCM, it is very good
but from the CCME, the quality is less good.
So how can I do to improve this quality.
    Best regards

You can improve the video quality on VideoOverIP with QoS. The primary goal of Quality of Service (QoS) is to make network service better and more predictable by providing dedicated bandwidth, controlled jitter and latency, and improved loss characteristics. QoS achieves these goals by providing tools for managing network congestion, shaping network traffic, using expensive wide-area links more efficiently, and setting traffic policies across the network.

  • How to improve poor video quality in iMovie?

I have a movie in iTunes (version 10.6.3).  When I play the video, the quality is good on my Mac, on my iPad 3 and on my Apple TV.  The Apple TV is hooked to a 42-inch LCD TV.
Next, I open the video file (MP4) using QuickTime Player.  I use the Edit and Trim commands to create a 1-minute segment from the video.  I save the segment from Quick Time Player.  The saved segment is a MOV file.  I drag and drop the MOV file back into iTunes.  When I play it from iTunes, the quality still is good on all my Apple devices - no noticeable difference from the original.
Now, I import the MOV segment into iMovie 11 (version 9.0.8).  At import, I tick the Optimize Video check box and I select the Full - Original Size setting. Once imported, I select Share > Publish To iTunes.  I do not make any changes to the video clip in iMovie.  I publish to iTunes using all five size settings: Mobile, Medium, Large, HD 720p and HD 1080p.  Once in iTunes, I play the video again.  Now the quality is poor, lots of pixelation in all five size settings.
iMovie appears to be doing something to the video to degrade its quality.  Maybe I have a setting wrong somewhere.  Anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent the degradation in video quality?  Thx

Hey Brad, the MP4 movie in iTunes is 806 MB.  The segment I trimmed in QuickTime Player and saved as an MOV file is 18 MB.
When I export the MOV segment from QuickTime Player to my desktop, the export format options that appear are: Movie; 480p; 720p; and iPad, iPhone 4 & Apple TV.  Which do you recommend?
When I do Share > Export Using Quicktime in iMovie, there are a bunch of Export and Use options.  Which do you recomend?
    Thx

  • How to improve the video quality send by lync 2013?

we have one sip client  make call with lync 2013 client, and each other support MS rtv video capabilities, after the sip session begin, then video rtp packet send on each directory, all the time our client send 720p video codec to lync 2013 client
, but we only receive the lower format video codec from lync 2013 , and the video format is changed all the time ,some times is 720p then 960*544, then 960*720, or 630*360,,etc. we wonder how can lync client send stable 720p video codec, and we have acheive
the funtion accord ms-rtp.pdf document, and our client can calculate bandwidth using rtcp step accord ms-rtcp , then we should do what else in order to get stable 720p from lync 2013...thank you.

    thank you
now we realy have enoght network bandwidth, is heigher to 4-6Mbps, so I think which is in one right work enviroment.
Now I notice that the video format received from lync 2013 at the begining of the call is 720p,  and some times change to 960*720, or 960*544, but for many time it may be change between these three  formats, but in some times the video format would
change to 640*360, once which change to this mode then it would keep in this sitiunation for long long  time, and would never chanege to the heigher ones so it is one incredible things.
how could we change this sitiuation to get one good video format for heigher video effect.

  • How to improve the video quality of jpg clips

I am using several jpg stills in my sequence. They look like crap when I output to QT. Any suggestions?

Regardless of the pixel dimensions of your original images, they are rendered to FCP's current Sequence settings. That might be as low as 720x480. The rest is thrown away.
Make sure you view the files in QuickTime Player 7 not QT Player X and set the preference check box to use High Quality playback.

  • Improving iChat Video Quality

Is there anything one can do to improve the video quality on iChat. The image looks great on Yahoo Messenger and Skype but it's really fuzzy, blurry, distorted, pixelated when using iChat.

    Hi
First have you set the Quicktime streaming setting, goto sys prefs/quicktime/streaming/streaming speed, set to 1.5mbps
In ichats prefs click on video and change bandwidth limit to 500.
    Restart iChat.

  • How to improve the printing quality of pictures, printing a database layout

I have a database that contains also pictures in multimedia containers. If I print a layout containing a picture, the quality of the picture is really bad! Pixeled with big pixels.
Is there a possibility to get better prints?
The pictures are JPEGs of reasonable size.
The picture in the layout on the screen looks MUCH better.
Printing to an PDF and viewing this on the screen is equally bad.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I'm guessing that your images are JPEGs. AppleWorks changes the resolution of all graphic formats except PICT to 72 dpi. There are a couple of things you can do improve the print quality of images.
    1. Turn on Fractional Character widths in Preferences > General > Topic: Text. This is a text setting, but it does improve the print quality of images.
    2. Open the image in Preview or GraphicConverter & Save As... a PICT to use in AppleWorks.
PICT is generally the best format to use for inserting or pasting into AppleWorks. I find the resulting graphic can be resized somewhat & the resulting saved AW file is much smaller than if using JPEG or TIFF.

  • How can I avoid video quality loss when burning Canon FS100 footage to DVD?

When I put the footage onto iMovie it looked great, and then I sent it to iDVD to burn onto a disc. After I burned it to a DVD and watched it on my DVD player, I noticed that I lost a lot of the video quality (or at least it seemed). It looks a little fuzzy and seems like it could be much better considering how great it looks in iMovie. Is it just me or does sending it to iDVD make me lose video quality? What is another alternative so I don't lose the quality? I've heard that Wondershare is a good option and that you won't lose any quality burning it from there, is that true? What is my best alternative? A relatively expensive DVD burner? Thanks, any help is appreciated.

A good suggestion was made before me, but I have another twist on the matter.
From Wikipedia on DVD: "Although many resolutions and formats are supported, most consumer DVD Video discs use either 4:3 or anamorphic 16:9 aspect ratio MPEG-2 video, stored at a resolution of 720×480 (NTSC) or 720×576 (PAL) at 29.97, 25, or 23.976 FPS."
Notice that the resolution for a DVD is roughly 700x500, which when multiplied gives you 350,000 pixels per frame. Now compare that with the video resolution of the FS100, which I see on web pages (eg, on dabs.com) is 710,000 pixels per frame.
This means your camera records more quality than can fit on a DVD. Approximately twice as much information. This means half the information is lost during the conversion. That's why you notice a drop in quality. If you burned to a BluRay disk, you'd probably lose nothing, since they store more information per frame. So your alternative is to buy a BluRay burner and play it back on a BluRay drive.
Another alternative is to burn it to a DVD but not in a form that's playable by a DVD, just in a form thats readable and playable by a computer. You will lose no information that way, but it will be playable only in a computer.

  • How to improve horrible camera quality on new 11" mac book air?

    Any ideas?

    arifromclevelend wrote:
Laptop ... require external camera for decent quality video chat...
That should definitely NOT be the case.  A higher res, external, camera should only be required if you have unusual requirements with special needs.
Video chat quality should surely be "decent" with the built-in camera.  If not, both you and your chat connection partners should try increasing your room light levels significantly.  If lots more light does not resolve the problem, both ends of the connection should check broadband speed using something like http://speedtest.net/
Insufficient light and broadband speed lower than 500kbps both up and down at either end are the most likely causes of lowered video chat quality.  If light is good and speeds at both ends of the connection is better than minimum but your video quality is unacceptable, test other Apple video capable apps, too, (examples: QuickTime, Photo Booth, iMovie.)
If the problem continues after these factors have been checked, ask your retailer to check whether your new MBA may need service or exchange.

  • Capturing Video with FX-5900XT - Poor Quality of Image - How to improve the capture quality ?

    Hello all,
I would to know what is the best sofware to use when you want to capture Video ?
I used MS Movie Maker, and WinDvd Creator but I didn't like very much of the result, the video had noise, the color and the image definition was not good, is there any way to improve it ?
I am using the last drivers from Nvidia. I generated videos in AVI format and MPEG 2.
I have old videos from my JVC VHS, my connection between my cam and the video board is a RCA Cable. When I see the video in my VCR is good but the digital result was not good.
Is there any software filter ?
Is there any tutorial or White Paper about capture using Nvidia driver ?
    Thanks all for your help,
    Regards,
    Mario Augusto Rodrigues

    I can't see a relation between a hardcopy and a analogic movie digitalization ?
    Could you explain me ?
In any case the quality of the image is very good in a hardcopy.
Does the Nvidia Capture Drive have some adjust ? Sensibility ? Noise ? Color ? Sharpness ?

  • How to improve my video productions

My wife and I do video production for her sister's musical programs at a local private school. I need tips on improving the quality of the productions. Below is a list of equipment that we use and a few questions about filming/editing these musical programs.
    Camera: Sony DSR-PDX10
    Tripod: Manfrotto MA055XWNB (just purchased)
Head: Manfrotto 701HDV Fluid Head (just purchased)
    Tapes: Sony DVC 60 minute
Sound: Directional XLR mic that came with the Sony / XLR line-in from soundboard
    on some programs
System: MacBook Pro 15" 2.8GHz 4GB ram (recently purchased)
    Software: iMovie/iDVD
    - Should I be using Final Cut Express for editing instead of iMovie and is there a big learning curve for it?
    - Is there a better DVD software that I should be using to author the discs?
    - Would you recommend a DVD burner or use the super drive in the MacBook? I'm concerned about wearing the super drive out, if we burn too many DVD's.
    - I'm burning copies of the disc image at 2x speed. Is this low enough to get the best quality. I'd prefer to not have to burn them at 1x.
    - The recordings sound good to us when using the directional mic, but it does pick up some of the crowd noise like coughing, etc. Any suggestions on a sound solution is also welcomed.
Our purpose is to provide the parents a copy of the performance if they choose
not to video it themselves. We only charge a nominal fee for the discs (about the price of a store bought movie) which we think is fair considering the enormous amount of time that goes into filming/editing and burning the discs.
Thanks in advance for your time and input.

nice device.. not the latest, but a good 'working horse', esp. the pro-connector XLR for an ext. mic.
    iMHD6 =fine, iMovie08/09 = no good..
iM08/09 has an odd behavior handling interlaced input.. to make it short: in usual use, resolution will drop by half on export ..
*FCE learning curve* = steem! but manageable and, with the little help of a book of FC-mastermind Tom Wolfsky (amazon..) you are a pro within weeks..
with some skills and imagination, you can give your projects some 'pro attitude' - but, be warned: FCE is NO 'one click done' solution as iM! no templates, themes, ready-mades ..
*better DVD software?* - DVDSP, part of FCP=$$$$ .. but better for your needs? may I recommend my own site about 'modding' iDVD-menus: http://sites.google.com/site/idvdmodding/
*superdrive wear-out?* yes, yes, YES! these slot-ins are not meant for 'mass production'. get any ext. DVD-burner - done.
we read reports, Verbatim disks work perfectly with 4x (some say 8x) speed ..
*catching noise* - rule#1 in audio-recording: you never can come too close.. consider 'poor man's 2nd unit': get any cheap miniDV-camcorder with a good/excellent ext-mic; put this as 'audio recorder' as close as possible to subjects; use the audio-track only of that device ..
professional solution: mics attached to each performer, mixer.. = $$$$

  • How to fix poor video quality working with Mpeg-2 from Sony DCR SR-80?

    Hi,
The video looks perfect when I hook the camera up to a TV and run it from the internal harddrive.  But when I import the video into Premiere and edit it, then export it--it looks grainy and jumpy.  It is especially bad when I try to slow down or speed up the video for effect.  I'm hoping there is a quick fix in the way that I should import the video.  I've heard some people mention that transferring the video to AVI in WMM before taking it to Premiere may help.  I am devestated that the video's look so poor.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Casey

    Casey,
    Welcome to the forum.
The conversion to DV-AVI is to get the best and easiest to edit material into PrE. It will not improve the original footage.
The original source footage, being MPEG-2, has been compressed already, and is in the format/CODEC to produce a DVD-Video. When you Import that into PrE, and then Export, you will be Transcoding (re-compressing yet again). That is most likely where the quality is falling apart.
Now, PrE works natively with DV-AVI Type II files, and is basically what it is internally converting your MPEG-2 material to. It is also taking the GOP structure and converting it to full I-frame, for frame-specific editing. This ARTICLE will give you some background on GOP.
If all that you were doing was simple cuts and deletion of footage, then another NLE (Non Linear Editor) would be useful, if it offered "smart rendering." However, when one is doing much more, like speed changes, adding Effects or Titles, even in those smart rendering programs, the material will have to be Transcoded.
Now, you might find some improvement, if there is a mis-match in the Field Order of your source footage, and your Export setting. You can run your source files through the great, free utility, G-SPOT, to determine the Field Order. It could be that you can make adjustments there, that will improve things, but maybe not.
Unfortunately, MPEG-2 material is not meant to be edited, but only displayed. That is why it looks good, when the camera is hooked up to your TV.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How can I maximize video quality of SMplayer?

I use Smplayer and I was wondering whether there is some sort of recommended codec and/or setup for smplayer to maximize the quality of videos

smplayer  uses mplayer for its engine so any quality/video codec things would be done through mplayer.  i use mplayer-vdpau-nogui package, which has alpha/beta/whatever support mplayer has for vdpau (for nvidia cards primarily).  i use the standard PKGBUILD with some omissions (the remote control, and other things i dont need).  this package is also svn, so you get the latest trunk source. then use the pkgbuild for smplayer-svn to keep any changes smplayer made concurrent to the svn version of mplayer.  i get successful builds usually every couple of weeks (though i only build it every couple of weeks, you can do it daily if you want).
then if you want more details on what you need, you can check out what codecs and such you can do by going into src and doing ./configure --help to see what options list the codecs available to build, and what libraries you would need for them.
the mplayer webpage can help you with the build options.
