How to inactivate notices of incoming Mail on the iCloud web interface?

The new iCould interface for Safari shows a notice for each incoming e-mail.
I would like to inactivate this feature and cannot find how.
On the iPhone it is possible to select for which sender we want such notices, or to simply stop them from appearing.
Any cue ?

Apple are unlikely to read your comments, if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance iCloud you can send Apple your feedback here.

How do I directly change the incoming mail server for icloud in Mail?  It's grayed out.
I ask this because I have suddenly stopped receiving most e-mails in Mail.  I've found that my incoming mail server (p01-imap.mail.me.com) is different from what the Apple mail setup assistant recommends (mail.me.com), but I cannot change it because it is grayed out.  Any ideas?

I'm afraid that AFAIK you've gone through the card. You could try Support, though I don't know how helpful they are likely to be.
To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

When trying to update my Mail Account Mailbox Behaviours settings, after making the changes when I try to close the settings pane the following messages occur: Invalid Incoming Mail Server The “Incoming Mail Server” field cannot be empty. The incoming mail server box has in light grey colour: p02-imap.mail.me.com in it and I cannot edit its content. Any ideas what is going on and how to fix it?

    Hi all,
Mattreichenbach is probably on the right track here with a reset of settings.  I think I've determined the issue has to do with cached account information and inconsistencies for the account name.  This seems to crop up when I've changed my password and it hasn't propagated fully to all the servers, devices, certificates, etc.
Hopefully many here are on their way to restoration of service by now but it's clear that a lot of people are having the same issues.  Very frustrating and definitely something Apple needs to resolve:  incoming mail server field grayed out, incorrect autopopulation of different fields, other unanticipated behaviors.  If you're still having issues, though, here's what worked for me...
First, head to the iCloud preferences pane in System Configuration and choose "Sign Out".  When I did this it prompted me with a number of "are you sure" type questions about retaining information on my local machine.  I chose to delete/remove the info each time simply because it should all be restored by the cloud and I didn't want to risk a massive duplication of my data... I will say, I'm back up and running with no issues so I suspect you can make the same delete/remove choices...  But use your own judgment.  I don't want you to lose any data (ie.. please use care as you do this because I cannot bear the thought of causing anyone to experience the pain of data loss).
Once you've signed out of iCloud, restart your system.  When you get back in, head to the Mail, Contacts and Calendars section of your System Preferences and add your account back by choosing the brushed aluminum "iCloud" button.  When it asks for your account name, use your @iCloud.com email address.  I am all but certain my issue had started because one of my devices (iPhone or whatever) had been set up with an email alias specified instead of my @iCloud.com address.
Apple, if you're reading through any of these issues (there are TONS of users having this same problem).  Take note, that your icloud service somewhat frequently is not responding and yet tells the user that the password is wrong and this prompts people to be changing their passwords unnecessarily.  This has happened to me on numerous occasions.  Also, I noticed that last week's outage corresponded to a VERY similar outage exactly one year ago to the day.  Sounds like planned maintenance to me and I think you could do a better job notifying folks so we're not wasting HUGE amounts of time troubleshooting a problem that we have no hope of fixing.
Hope that helps some of you!

How does one continue to use Mail on the early MacBook Pro, Model 1,1, that is not upgradable to Lion?  I have been running iCloud on my iPhone (OS5) and iMac (Lion) along with the MacBook Pro (OS Version 10.6.8) since November until now.  Mail will no longer download on the MacBook Pro and keeps asking for my password.

Mail should still be usable with your machine - but you'll need to update the settings to conform to the requirements of your system. Check with your ISP (like ATT, etc.) for the settings that will work with your Mail. Once you've updated this, you should be able to email like before.
For example, my ISP required that I go to Mail Preferences/Accounts and make sure the details conform to your email settings.
I have no idea of what your ISP is or what the settings might be, but this is likely the source of the problem.

  • HT204053 how do i verify my e mail id to icloud if it is the correct one

how do i verify my e mail id to icloud if it is already  the correct one

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Also check your mail filters and rules in case the verification mail is going to a junk folder or even being deleted.

  • What is the smtp incoming mail server for iCloud?

What is the smtp incoming mail server for iCloud?

There is no such thing as an "SMTP incoming mail server." You set up iCloud mail by checking the box marked Mail in the iCloud preference pane. You don't need to know the addresses of the servers.

  • HT4859 how do i increase my allowable mail amount on icloud?

how do i increase my allowable mail amount on icloud?

The space for mail is part of the overall space, which at the basic free level is 5GB. You can increase the storage at a cost: additional 10GB, $20 p.a., 20 GB, $40 p.a., 50GB $100 p.a. It's up to you how much of your space is used for email and how much for other things.
To purchase extra space see this page:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmd602084a
and expand 'Purchase additional iCloud storage'.

Some email images do not show while using the icloud web app.  I can see the images on my IOS devices and in gmail but I only see a small gray box in the icloud web mail app.  Load HTML images is checked in preferences.  Is there a solution to this issue?

I've seen the opposite issue.  My wife recieved an email with jpg attachments.  She couldn't see or print them on her iPhone 4S but they showed up fine in iCloud or in the mail app.  I had her forward the email to herself and then they showed up.  I assume there is an issue with how Apple is processing the attachments and resending causes them to get reformatted in a way that makes them easier to handle.
So yeah.  Seems like some bugs.  Hope Apple fixes them soon.

  • Mail rules on iCloud Web

I know that in case I don't want to receive mail from a certain sender this has to be done by defining a rule. Of course this rule must be added on the iCloud server because it doesn't know anything about my local rules. It's OK that rules don't get synched between devices and I don't know of any IMAP Server that does that. So far so good. My problem is, that I don't want to receive mails from that person at all. Mac Mail provides an option like "if sender is bla then delete the message". However, if you go to the iCloud web page, which is the right place to add that rule, the only option provided is to move the mail to a certain folder. That is I can only set up a rule that moves the mail to trash, but that means it still get delivered to my client (iphone or mac). Alright, it's in the trash folder but that's not what I intend to do. As I said before the message should be completely deleted without going to any folder at all.
Most likely there's no solution other than sending a feature request to apple.
Unfortunately I have no idea how I can do that. Could someone please tell me where I can request to add that feature? There are more features missing, e.g. it's not possible to define a rule that should only be true if two conditions are true at the same time. But that's yet another feature I'd request. For now it would be enough for me to know where I can request.

I had found that page in google search results but didn't go to the site, because for me requesting a feature or opening a bug and giving feedback is not quite the same. Anyway, thanks for your reply. I already gave "feedback". I don't think it will be implemented, but let's see.

How to I get music I purchased before the iCloud was created to show up on my new authorized iPhone?  Right now I can only see the Apps I recently purchased on the actual phone but older music I purchased on my CPU using the same Apple ID doesn't appear.

Does any music show in the Purchased tab on the iTunes store app on your phone ? Music can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even where it can be it will only appear whilst it remains in the store. Do you have your purchases on your computer and/or on a backup of your puchases so that you can sync them to your phone ?

  • I just did a system restore on my iphone 4 and it didnt prompt me to restore a back up. how do i restore a back up from the icloud now?

how do i reload a back up from the icloud when i wasnt prompted?

If you apps are still in iTunes, you should be able to sync them back to your computer.  Otherwise, if you have iOS 5 (5.01) on your phone you could redownload them by launching Apps, press the Purchased button at the bottom, press Purchased at the top, then Not On This Phone.  This will list your apps and allow you to redownload them.  If you've purchased apps using multiple Apple IDs, you will have to sign in to each of these IDs to be able to download all your apps (by going to Settings>Store>tap on the Apple ID, sign out, sign back in using another ID).

If you no longer have the phone or have any Backup of it at all, you can re-download your apps and your content from the iTunes Store by logging into your Apple ID at settings> iTunes & App Store. Unfortunately you can no longer recover the data that was associated with those apps.
So far as your photos go, you can recover any photos that were in photo stream and taken less than 30 days ago by logging in with your Apple ID to settings> iCloud> photos. Unfortunately you will be unable to recover any photos from your camera roll.
