How to include line descriptions in journals?

Hi,
trying to export journals to HFM with Excel templates. HFM/FDM version in use is 11.1.1.3.
I am wondering if it is possible to include line descriptions in HFM-journals when they are posted through FDM?
When journal template is defined, account dimension is referred with "A" and ICP with "I" etc. According to FDM manual, description is referred with "D", but this tag transfers the column content to the general description in HFM journal and the line descriptions are left empty. What would be the correct tag in journal template referring to the line descriptions?

Hi Tony,
Thank you for your prompt advice. Unfortunately that did not solve the problem. With "D1" or "D2" the text still goes to the general description in HFM journal. Not to row descriptions.
I would assume that there has to be a "technical code" for those row descriptions also since you can load text to those directly from HFM journal extracts.

How display two-line descriptions in month view

In the iCal version in Snow Leopard, it was possible to display a two-line description of an event in month view. Is there a way to do that in the version included with OS 10.9 and 10.10? The descriptions now are so truncated it can be hard to understand what they refer to. Also, the text of the descriptions in month view no longer is in the color of the calendar they are assigned to (except for all-day events). Instead, the descriptions are marked with tiny dots. This makes it much more difficult to distinguish between event types. Apple seems to be changing its apps for some misguided sense of aesthetics instead of emphasizing utility.

I have the same question. One workaround is to copy an existing two-line event to the day that you want to create a new event. Then edit that to change it to the event name you want. This seems to work even though just typing a new name truncates it to one line.
I hope someone can provide a more elegant solution.

How to include photo descriptions in iCloud sharing?

When I share photos to iCloud, I find that the online album (stream) does not include any photo descriptions I have added in iPhoto (or any other "metadata" for that matter). As a workaround I have manually added a comment to each shared photo, with the text description being the description pasted from iPhoto, but that's a huge pain.
Has anyone found a better way to include photo descriptions in their iCloud shared photo streams?
I know iPhoto (I'm using version 9.5.1) does export this info, because if you export a photo and view its attributes in Finder, you'll see the metadata. It's pretty annoying because if you spend time adding custom titles, descriptions, tagging faces and places, it would be nice for some of this to be included in photos you're sharing with friends and family.

I'll close this thread by mentioning the more drastic workaround I'm going with: not using iCloud for sharing when I need a lot of descriptions and other metadata. I'm planning to export from iPhoto, including title and keywords, and then post on Google+, which seems to read the metadata from the JPGs.
If you are going to export from iPhoto anyway, you can send the photos using the Photo Stream as well. When you are sharing via PhotoStream, the Photo Stream will transfer the EXIF and IPTC tags embedded in the original file. Only, there are two problems with the embedded EXIF and IPTC tags:
The way you are seeing the photos in the PhotoStream album is misleading. The Info panel in the Photo Stream view simply is not showing the tags that are embedded in the photo. The only visible metadata are the filename. You will see the embedded metadata however in the Info panel, when you import the photo from the Photo Stream album to an event.
And the Photo Stream will not add cations and titles to the shared images, that are not yet part of the original image file and only part of the edited version. But any tags embedded in the original file will transfer.
As a simple work-around to share the titles and keywords, export the images and use the titles as filenames. Then reimport and send via Photo Stream.

How to include Line break in string?

I have a requirement like, I have to display the string value in 2 lines in Web UI.
I have achieved that functionality using the below code in CRM Ehp1.
data : str1 type string,
str2 type string,
lv_str type string.
str1 = 'Hello'.
str2 = 'World'.
lv_str = |{ str1 }\n{ str2 }|.
write /: lv_str.
The output is: Hello#World
In web ui, it is displaying in two lines like
Hello
World
But, the special character '|' is not supported in CRM 7.0
Is there anyway for line-break?

Trying to do the same etc include journal line description. Found some notes and tried doing the below setups ....
Did the followings ...
1 Accounting Setup manager > Subledger Accounting Options > Cost Management > Update Accounting Options >General Ledger Journal Entry Summarization to No Summarization .
2. In SLA Cost Management...
   -Define new JED, selecting PO number.
   -Define new JLD by copying the existing RCPT_REC_INSP and DELIVER_EXPENSE and attached the new JED.
   -Define new AAD by copying from the existing COST_MANAGEMENT and attached the newly created JLD.
   Lastly, enddate the seeded SLAM and add a new AAD assignments and attached to the newly created AAD.
But upon validating the accounting definition, it shows invalid and though enabled the fnd log, still do not see any message.
Appreciate any help.

Journal Line Description not displayed

Hi,
I ran create accounting for Inventory ( cost management ) and inported the journals to GL. But we cannot see the journal line description.Instead only the Journal Import Created can be seen.
I found a note saying to change the following
Accounting Setup manager > Subledger Accounting Options > Cost Management > Update Accounting Options >General Ledger Journal Entry Summarization to No Summarization .
This works well for AP, but not for Inventory.
Please can someone explain this situations.

Oracle EBS GL Journal Line Description not being extracted by ETC

It seems that the ETL for Oracle EBS (R12) includes the JE Batch Name, the JE Header Name/Description, and the JE Line Number. However, it does not include the JE Line Description. We have been able to meet all of our requirements based on out-of-the-box ETL and are trying to avoid customization. Has anyone run into this issue and has any customized the ETL to accomodate the need.

yes most of the times there are alot of customizations ...
If you are doing any customization to out of the box ETL job then you will do that in custom folders such as custom_sde or custom_sil. Now your modified etl job is in a new Informatica folder in order for this new etl job to run by DAC you need to create a new folder in DAC with the same name as in informatica and associate it with corresponding informatica folder.
Please refer to the DAC Guide Section 5 for more step by step information !!

Let say I have used BufferedReader(new FileReader(c:/java/MyText.txt)) to read from MyText.txt file. In this case, how to load all descriptions (lines) of this file into a Vector? And how to associate each line of MyText.txt as an element of the Vector?

My suggestion is to create a new class that has a String (for your line of text) and an Image or ImageIcon for your picture. Store the instances of this class in the vector, and then add the appropriate part of the items in the vector to your list. Then you can just get the item in the vector corresponding the to index of the selected item in the list, cast it to your new class, and grab the String or the image as needed.

How can I automatically include photo descriptions when creating a book through iPhoto so that I don't have to type them all again?

I am scanning hundreds of old photographs onto my iMac and including descriptions when I import them to iPhoto. When I have created a book as a test, the photo descriptions are not automatically included. I don't want to have to add captions to the book I've created so how do I automaticaly include each description with the photograph?

There are no themes that automatically add descriptions that have been added to the photos. The Folio theme will pickup the file name and user name of the account
but not the description.

Modify Journal line description by SLA

Hi,
I modified the journal line description in AP by SLA, change the journal line description from invoice distribution description to invoice number+supplier name+invoice distribution description(default setup is invoice distribution description will be brought to journal line description), but I found if i write the description in invoice header, the system will add the invoice header description in the journal line description automatic, and I did not find any place where i can change it, the same thing is happened when i modify the ar receipts description, so could you have some experience about this, please kindly share it, thanks.

Yes, the header description will be added to lines and distribution lines description although I have modified the journal entry lines description in SLA, but when I checked accounting information in SLA in AP events, the description is correct, but after I transfer the journal to GL, the journal lines description will added the invoice header description in journal line description, so I think is there have setup where I can modify this? Two ways:
1. File -> Export. Set the Kind to Jpeg or Tiff
Check the boxes at 'Location Information' and 'Titles and Keyword'
The information is written to the iptc and Exif metadata on the file.
2. Use iPhoto Library Manager This will get all of the information plus faces and edit history

Row wrapping of Line Description playing havoc with my Invoice!

Dear Experts,
I know this issue has been brought up before (its also mentioned in the comments at end of Tim's blog: http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2007/03/anatomy_of_a_template_ii_heade.html by Jon) but I've failed to find an answer on it and would be grateful before embarking on some head scratching if anyone else had solved it?
I'm using an invoice similar to that in Tim's above blog. Its a fixed lines invoice that counts each record fetched as equaling one line. A count is made of each record fetch and when the number of records meets the maximum number of lines per page constant, a page break occurs.
The problem I have is that this works fine if the line description in the record is less than a line in length, but if the text in this line description results in wrapping onto the next line (it can include carriage returns) then this record which is counted as one line, actually takes up 2 physical lines on the template for example. In this case, the lines will extend too far down the template before the page break occurs. The requirement is to allow the possibility of several line descriptions for each record, so maybe I have to examine the characters and carriage returns in each of the line description and with some logic work out how many physical lines this equates to and add the extra to the line count?
Any insight or solutions to this problem would be gratefully received.

Pterobyte, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Apple has not provided any amavisd update with the updates to 10.5 server, at least not since circa 10.5.5, which still has
amavisd-new-2.5.1
Rather, some clamav updates have been provided by Apple.
Looking at the contents of the 10.5.7 Server Combo update, I see no amavisd content at all.
So - unless I'm mistaken -
mrblip, you have manually updated amavisd somehow on your own,
and if so please state exactly which instructions you followed.

Exporting EPUB from InDesign CC not including line breaks

I am done with a book and have it formatted the way I want. I am exporting it to EPUB through InDesign CC and previewing it in iBooks and also through Kindle previewer. Everything is fine except for one thing... where I have created page breaks, the exported file is not including them.
I tried exporting to HTML just to see what it did and there is no line breaks there. I know its proprietary markup ( in kindle ) but I still would like to include them in a few specific places ( to mark seperations of chapters ).
In kindle this is the tag they say to use: <mbp:pagebreak />
In iBooks, I have not yet figured out how to create them, I am going to work on that today once I sort out the kindle version.
Is there any way to force it to include line breaks on export. Or alternatively, I could export to HTML but I am having trouble figuring out how to go back to the EPUB format from there and also it didn't include the fonts, so there was other issues to consider as I have a custom font I was using for the headers that looks really good and matches the font on the book cover as well... so I really want to keep that consistent if possible.
Are there any tricks or things I can try here to improve on my workflow and do a better job of seperating the chapters ?

Ok, I hadn't tested the advanced options out in the export menu. It works and does so on both the iBooks and Kindle previewer.. which is good news since that is really important to me to try and find a workflow I can update both of these formats from when I continue to work on my book.
The only strange part is that on some chapters its adding an extra blank page between the chapter and the next. What is odd is that it only happens on some of them (in the iBook reader only, the kindle previewer isn't doing this)
I am going to look into this more closely but its not a major deal as I would prefer a little seperation in the chapters anyways, its not really a bad thing. It is just hard to figure out why its doing this.

All XML documents should begin with an XML declaration.
If you have your fxml file starting with the following lines :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

.. it will be loaded in Scene Builder, and saved back as is.
