  • How to include photo descriptions in iCloud sharing?

When I share photos to iCloud, I find that the online album (stream) does not include any photo descriptions I have added in iPhoto (or any other "metadata" for that matter). As a workaround I have manually added a comment to each shared photo, with the text description being the description pasted from iPhoto, but that's a huge pain.
Has anyone found a better way to include photo descriptions in their iCloud shared photo streams?
I know iPhoto (I'm using version 9.5.1) does export this info, because if you export a photo and view its attributes in Finder, you'll see the metadata. It's pretty annoying because if you spend time adding custom titles, descriptions, tagging faces and places, it would be nice for some of this to be included in photos you're sharing with friends and family.
    Thanks!

I'll close this thread by mentioning the more drastic workaround I'm going with: not using iCloud for sharing when I need a lot of descriptions and other metadata. I'm planning to export from iPhoto, including title and keywords, and then post on Google+, which seems to read the metadata from the JPGs.
If you are going to export from iPhoto anyway, you can send the photos using the  Photo Stream as well.  When you are sharing via PhotoStream, the Photo Stream will transfer the EXIF and IPTC tags embedded in the original file. Only, there are two problems with the embedded EXIF and IPTC tags:
The way you are seeing the photos in the PhotoStream album is misleading.  The Info panel in the Photo Stream view simply is not showing the tags that are embedded in the photo. The only visible metadata are the filename. You will see the embedded metadata however in the Info panel,  when you import the photo from the Photo Stream album to an event.
And the Photo Stream will not add cations and titles to the shared images, that are not yet part of the original image file and only part of the edited version. But any tags embedded in the original file will transfer.
As a simple work-around to share the titles and keywords, export the images and use the titles as filenames. Then reimport and send via Photo Stream.

  • How to restore Files including Photos, Contacts.etc after wiping out in the absence of performing any back up ?

I Actually, I have wiped My Blackberry torch 9800 out although I Have Not done any Back up . So, Is there any possibility to recover My files Including Photos, Videos, Contacts ,..Etc? Because I Really need those Files for Student examination Purposes ?! If you could deliver If anything can be done so,,, your responses are appreciated,,,, Waiting for your response,,,,,

No backup at all?  Were you not even running protect?  How about sync'ing with a computer or with the cloud?
If you really don't have any form of backup and did not sync with Outlook, Google, or something, nor sync music and pictures with a computer, then whatever you had on device memory is gone.  If you were using a media card then you may have that, unless it got wiped in the process.

how to transfer photos fromPC to iphone using iTunes ?

When you've connected the iPhone to your computer and selected it on the left-hand side of iTunes, one of the tabs on the right-hand side should be Photos (in the same way that you get tabs for syncing other content) - if you select that you should be able to select where you want to sync photos from e.g. which folder(s) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
You need to sync all the photos that you want on the phone together in one go, as only the most recent sync remains on the phone - not including the photos in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from the phone.

  • How to include movie poster frames in iphoto contact sheet?

I cant see how to include movies in contact sheet.  Is it possible?  I'm using iphoto v8.0.2.

I suppose Old Toad's solution will work. However, this will change the dates on the originals and I don't think that is desireable in general.
I think there is a bug in the printing of contact sheets. If one selects all photos in an album that has been re-orded manually and then starts the print sequence, the initial sheet with 3 columns is ordered correctly. But, as soon as you try to change the number of columns the ordered reverts to date order of the originals.
Am I missing something or is this really a bug? If it is, how do I report it?

how to get photos from pc to iphone?

    1. Connect your iDevice to your computer with the USB connector. Open iTunes and select your device from the left sidebar. Then, select the photos tab from the top menu.
    2. Organize and sync.
First choose where you’d like to sync your photos from. I use iPhoto, but you can use any photo management system.
Check the box next to each album &/or event you’d like to sync.
Alternatively, you could put all the photos you want to transfer into a separate folder on your computer, and choose to sync just that folder from the drop down menu.
Notice that I’ve checked the box “Include videos” so any included videos will also sync.
When your selections are made, click “Apply” and the photos will sync to the photo library on your device.

  • How to import photo from laptop to iphone? is it possible?

how to import photo from laptop to iphone? is it possible to do so?

    You're welcome.
The photos are imported from the Camera Roll, not synced.
    Mac or Windoze PC?
Which application on your computer are you using for the import?
With a Mac, both iPhoto and the Image Capture application include an option and a prompt to delete the photos from the Camera Roll are the import process is complete - as when importing photos from any other digital camera.
The Windoze Scanner and Camera Wizard includes the same.

How to import photo from album in Iphone into computer?

You can't. You can import from the Camera Roll only.
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process should remain on your computer. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported. These photos should remain on your computer and be included with your computer's backup.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction but such utilities are not supported by Apple and the original resolution of these photos will be lost.
    Here is one such utility.

  • How to name photos

    Hello
I'm unsure how to name photos in Lightroom (ie: the best general way, and also for search engine optimisation). I currently name as follows:
    name_date_location_photo number.dng, so for example:
    roykaye_141112_landscape_photo-1.dng
So there are various questions here:
Should I capitalise the first letters of my first and last names, and should there be a space between first and last names (and should this be an underscore or just a space)
Should I use underscores or hyphens or just spaces
Do I need an underscore (or hyphen/space) between location name words
I've read that I should not use underscores anymore? - I've searched on google but can't find a definitive answer (if there is one?)
I've just set up a website, so am unsure when exporting a jpg for use on the site whether it matters if I use use the same name with jpg suffix or if I should use a different renaming
    system for my website
    I'd appreciate any advice
    Thank you
    Roy Kaye

I dunno how much search engines parse filenames versus reading metadata.
    But since you asked:
    * I prefer mixed case, without spaces, e.g. RoyKaye. That way, nobody has to try and figure out whether they're from R.O. Yakaye, or R. OyKaye, or Royka Ye .. - I realize lower case is in fashion, no-doubt due to the many iPhone-like devices that make it an extra bother to use mixed case, but that doesn't make it good.
Spaces are good for readability, but wreak havoc when you are using command-line tools, or in URLs..
The other word of advice: make all filenames unique, so you could export your whole catalog into a single folder and never have a naming conflict. Not that you would, but if you send an email to someone they can give you the filename back which will allow you to unambiguously locate..
    FWIW - my naming convention:
    {date}{photog-id}{time}{camera-id}{orig.image-num}.{ext}
    for example:
    20141031RC070102NB1234.NEF
    is the filename for shot:
    * taken 2014-10-31
    * by me (RC)
    * at 7:01:02 am
    * with my 2nd Nikon (NB)
    * original image number 1234 (original filename _DSC1234.NEF).
    * NEF (file format)
    Pros:
    * If all photos exported to same folder, without renaming, there would be no naming conflict, and alphabetic order would be just the order I want (even if shoot includes photos from another photographer, or a second camera..).
    * filename is informative, but not dependent on anything that could ever change.
    * I can trace filename back to original on card, in case I need to do card recovery.
    * Filename components are uniform in length, which means things line up when viewed in a list.
    * No spaces, and alpha-numeric only, means filename is always the same even in a URL, and never needs escaping or quote-wrapping..
    Cons:
    * Long (I considered variations with delimiters, but opted for short(er) n' smushed..).
    * Difficult to read, and I may be the only one who knows what all the components represent (e.g. 'NB').
PS - I usually don't rename upon export, other than maybe adding a suffix, e.g. "shrunken-for-email", but you can also have 2 or more different filenaming conventions:
    1. Source filenames (which may have no objective other than uniqueness, and yeah: I know - some people don't even care if they're unique, but I do).
    2. Exported filenames (which can include all info required to uniquely identify the photo - in case of feedback in the future.., plus more user friendly stuff, like genre, photographer's name, shoot-affiliation, etc.
PPS - I use the convention: upper case extension for out-of-camera originals (which would include DNG if I converted out-of-camera-originals), and lower case for derivatives.
    Cheers,
    Rob

  • I am sorry but I don't understand how to delete photos from my Iphone that were sys from a computer.

I just don't understand how to delete photos from my Iphone placed there by Syc.

Well, if they were synced fomr a computer then the iPhone says the computer "owns" them for instructional purposes.  You have two options.
    1) Plug your iPhone up to any computer with iTunes.  You can get itunes at www.itunes.com  Then tell it to sync photos, but then select no photos or an empty folder.  This will override what the previous computer put on your iPhone.
    2) Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings and say goodbye to everything including those synced photos.  If you make a quick backup first in iCloud (be sure it finishes) then you can restore form your iCloud backup via Wifi and those synced photos wont be there.  How to backup: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766

  • How to download photo from my PC to iphone?

hi, i would like to download photo from my PC to iphone, but don't know how!!
is anyone can help? and i need to download some sofeware first???
    thanks a million,
    zchan

This depends on how you store/manage photos on your computer.
If you manually manage photos on your computer, you need to place the photos that you want to transfer to your iPhone in a name folder. Under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences, select this folder followed by a sync.
If you want to transfer multiple folder or albums that contain photos, create a parent folder that will contain the folders that include photos only. Place the folder that contain photos in the parent folder and under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences, select the parent folder followed by a sync.
