How to include subtitles to DVD using burn in finder?

I have downloaded french movie in .avi and it has .srt file with it with the subtitles. So when I go to burn the movie using burn in finder window how do I include the subs to work with it?

I too have been looking diligently for something I can use to glean .srt files from DVD's. Secondarily, .sub/.idx files. I didn't quite realize how much software would be made useless by my shift to Lion. Amazing amounts!
Is there any other product, commercial or otherwise that is known to accomplish this task?

How do I verify a DVD after burn? I know it can be done right after the burn, but this has been burned long ago. How is it done? I need to know it will play in a DVD player all the way through. I have several DVds and dont want to watch them all...

Just FYI, when I first started burning DVD disks, I always did the burn verification process after the burn. It took a long time, and I wasn't sure what it was really doing. I posted a question to one of the early iDVD users here, like Leonart , Len Goff, who said he never verified and all his DVDs burned fine. So, I stopped doing it and have not had any burn failures.
For your old DVDs, follow Leonart's excellent recommendation.

How to make a photo DVD (using very large format photos)

I am attempting to make a photo DVD using iDVD. The program seems to lockup when exporting a slide show from iPhoto.
I am using a 21 mega pixial camera, so the file size is about 15-18 mb, per photo, 266 photo.

How to clean the CD/DVD-Player/burner (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-875) on my iMac

I have a iMac early 2008, and I wonder how I can clean my CD/DVD - Player/Burner (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-875). The Matshita spits out some cd's and some dvd's (not all) even if they are clean and with none damage. Have heard rumours who says that on the CD/DVD player/burner on Macbook Pro you can clean the player/burner with a shammy (wraped around a creditcard)inside the slot. Any suggestions?
The Matshita has been very choosy from the day i bought the iMac, but not as choosy as today. I consider to buy a new externally CD/DVD - player/burner. I have not time to send it in to service (4-6 weeks). But maybe someone out there has a good solution to fix this problem

Hi, yes I kno' the disk drives can be choosy on which make they read & write on.
You could try one ov those disk cleaning
CD's - usually sold @ stores like, Walmart, BestBuy or Target..
An external unit would work well, I'm not sure I agree with your thoughts on the service turn round time.

How to activate subtitles in DVD Studio Pro

So I have my subtitle track in DVD Studio Pro already done. I would like to know how I can make it so that when someone is watching the film, they can press the subtitle button and those subtitles will appear. I think I need to use scripts, but I've read numerous posts online and have yet to find one that explains it clearly enough. Can anyone help and give me a step by step guide through the process? How to include ".jsx" file when using Adobe Configurator

I am trying to include a ".jsx" file so i can use their functions i've written.
Now when i use:
#include "filename.jsx"
i only get an error message when i add the extension in Photoshop CC
i think the #include statement must have a correct path, or the file won't be found, now my question would be.
Which path das #include use?
Or,
How can i include a .jsx file which is in the xxx.assets Folder within the extension Folder?
e.g. myScript.jsx inside the myScript.assets Folder, to access a function named myFunction()...

How do I finalize a DVD after burning photos from Aperture??

I have made a slideshow on Aperture and exported it to my desktop. I have burned a DVD-R but there is one problem...I need to finalize it. How do I do this to be able to play on my DVD player?

What is the external device you are trying to play the DVD in? Just burning a .mov file to a DVD doesn't create DVD that is playable in most DVD players.
If you are trying to create a DVD that can play in a DVD player take a look at iDVD.

How to convert VHS to DVD using FCP 7?

Hello. For a brief, non-technical, introduction: I have dozens of family VHS tapes that I'd like to convert into a digital format where I can edit them and eventually transfer them onto an external hard drive and possibly DVDs as well. Ideally, I'd love to do all of the logging, capturing, and editing in FCP, but I am having difficulty figuring out set up and proper format conversions to obtain the best results. I am not a computer wizard, so a "Just-For-Dummies" walk through would be greatly appreciated.
My questions are:
1) What should my flowchart of devices be from VCR to FCP? (ie: converters, cables, inside FCP setup)
2) What is the best video format for VHS to digital conversion?
Here are the specs for devices I currently possess. I realize I may need to purchase more, but this is what I have to work with at the moment.
MacBook Pro: Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. | Processsor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 | Memory 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Final Cut Pro 7.0.3
VCR: Toshiba SD-v295ku (output is Red, White, Yellow RCA)

Getting out of my depth here a bit.
I do have FCP 6 but have not used it much at all.
There are many people here that are more able than me who may come to your rescue but anyway here are a few suggestions to try.
Sony can be set to one of 2 audio modes, 12bit=32kHz, or 16bit=48kHz.Ensure set to 16bit , around page 85.
Capture has to match 16bit=48kHz.
In FCP7 User Preferences >General check box "Abort capture on dropped frames.On timecode break Make New Clip ".
Also in Preferences> General I noticed this but not sure if it will help...Check box "Sync audio capture to video source if present".
Coming back to the Sony, and still stabbing in the dark, there is a Time Base Corrector (TBC) setting that you could try both on and off.
Also,do not start and stop the VHS player frequently; let it run through from start to end if you can to avoid breaks.
Another option but not ideal.
What happens when you import into iMovie, do you still get out of sync?
If you dont then you could import to iMovie and then import the DV file/files to FCP7.
This will not take up double the space as FCP7 references the files in iMovie.
Other than this you could try a "search communities" or hope for more suggestions to come in.
