How to increase # of rings before voicemail answers?

My phone rings 2 times before voicemail answers, need to increase to at least 5 rings. Tried everything, user guide etc. Any ideas?

Here is the code that I used from my Treo days. Tried it on my iPhone and it worked.
1. To get the current call forwarding status, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.
2. Write down the 10-digit number(ignore the +1), this is the phone number that your calls are currently being diverted to.
3. Enter *61*[number]*11[delay]#[SEND] into your phone using the phone number (numbers only) as reported by the status & the delay can be set to (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30) seconds.
4. To verify that the settings are correct, enter *#61#[SEND] into your phone.

If the codes Tanzim mentioned don't work, just call your carrier and ask them to extend your time until voicemail picks up, to 30 seconds. They do this routinely.

  • Setting tone rings before voicemail starts

How do you set a certain number of phone call rings before voicemail is activated.

I checked the iPhone User Guide and can't find away to change the amount of rings before going to Voicemail. Somehow your question ended up in the iPad Forum, I'll ask the host to relocate your question to the iPhone Forum and hopefully someone will know for sure.

  • Only 3 rings before voicemail.

How do I extend the number of rings before voicemail kicks in - my 8520 only rings 3 times - not enough to find it and answer it.  Missing loads of potentially important calls.

As a norm, most all carriers have a default 15 seconds of ringtime until the voicemail picks up.
If you do need additional ring time before voicemail:
The simplest method is to call your carrier and request a longer ring time, up to 30 seconds.
If you have a GSM based phone, some have had success by dialing this number from your phone: **61*XXXXXXXXXXX**30#
Replace XXXXXXXXXXX with the number of your carrier voicemail center (find it by looking at your Phone Dialer > Options > VoiceMail > Access Number. Put your access number in place of the Xs above.
For example, the T-Mobile voice mail access number is 18056377243, and thus the string to dial would be **61*18056377243**30#
Replace the 30 at the end of the string with your desired seconds. For most carriers, 30 seconds is the longest allowed

  • Reduce number of rings before Voicemail

I would like to reduce the number of rings before my voicemail comes on on my Blackberry Z10. It is forwarded from my desk phone and that means that customers are waiting an excessive amount of time before my voicemail kicks in on my BB. I called my carrier (Rogers) and they said they were unable to do this. I'm not sure if their tech support was correct in this, as I've seen on other forums that this is the process by which you change the length of the ring tones.
Is there a way to reduce the number of rings before voicemail on my Blackberry Z10 in my settings?
    Thanks

    *61 *NNN NNN NNNN *11 *X#
Where X is ranges from 5 to 30 seconds before a call get forwarded to the voice mailbox
And NNN NNN NNNN is the VoiceMail number provided by the Carrier
You can locate the Carrier Voicemail Number in
    Phone Settings/Call Forwarding/Forward If Buzy

  • How do I extend the length of time my iphone rings before voicemail cuts in? If I need to use a password, how do I access that on my iphone? I'm a new user.

HELP!! My voicemail cuts in after just 15 seconds of ringing, which is rarely long enough for me to answer it. How do I increase the length of time it rings? Can I choose not to have voicemail at all, so my phone can just continue ringing until I answer?
If I need to enter a voicemail password or key, can you tell me step by step because I can't see how to do anything except retrieve and delete voicemail msgs. I'm on O2-UK, if that makes any difference at all. Thank you

If my response has been either helpful or correct, could you indicate that marking which it is in order that others searching for a similar solution can find find this easily.

  • Increasing Number of Rings Before Voicemail Pickup

I can't figure out how to let it ring longer before going to voicemail on my 3G iPhone. Any thoughts? Thanks.

You would need to call ATT and request that they adjust the number of rings.

  • Rings before voicemail

How can I increase the number of times the iPhone 5 rings before it goes to Voicemail? I can barely get to the phone in time unless it's right in my hand.

No, you can't increase the number of rings before going to voicemail.

  • Please allow us to set # of rings before VM answer...

I use Skype in conjunction with Google Voice but Skype's Voicemail keeps picking-up the call before Google Voice's VM can kick-in.
I know people have asked for this before and I've sent emails in but can't Skype allow us to choose how many rings before the VM system will pick-up? Or put a checkbox so I can disable Skype-In VM altogether?
p.s. You folks might want to add the word 'Skype' to your built-in spell-checker, pretty sad to see that even Skype's own website doesn't recognize the word.

  • How to increase iPhone ring time

Is there a way to increase the ring time on the iPhone before it goes to voicemail

it's a carrier setting not a phone setting

  • Number of rings before voicemail

My phone only rings four times before voicemail kicks in. How do I change this to give me more te to answer?

This is a setting on the carrier end, not the phone. The easiest way is to call your carrier and ask them to make the change. There are codes you can dial on your phone to change the setting yourself, but they differ by carrier and with no location in your profile, we don't know which carrier you have. But call them. It's not a number of rings, actually, but a time - the max is usually 30-40 seconds.

  • Chaning number of rings before voicemail kicks in

I need more time to get to my phone. The number of rings should be user settable.

It is. You're not actually setting the number of rings, but the length of time before voicemail picks up. You can do this in one of two ways:
    1. Call AT&T and ask them to increase it.
    or
    2. Follow the instructions in the following post:
    http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=palm&message.id=4087
(I realize this is from the Cingular Palm support forum, but it doesn't matter. The process is the same for any GSM phone.)

  • Amount of rings before voicemail

Is there a way to adjust the amount of rings before it cuts to voicemail?

Can only be done by your carrier, so contact them.

  • 2 rings before unit answers

    Hello,
When I call my phone number I hear 2 rings before the uc320w picks up the line and streams the welcome message. Is there a way to make it so that the unit immediately streams the welcome message. The problem is that I also have a 800 number which forwards to the local number. This 800 adds 1 ring or 2 rings to the call and my telecom is telling me they cannot avoid this (bell canada). This brings the total to 3 or 4 rings a before the unit picks up the call when someone dials the 800 number. Or 2 rings when they call the local number. Many people hang up before the call gets trough thinking no one is there.
I would like to bring the number of rings down to zero when someone dials the local number and down to 2 when they dial the 800 number. How? (Ideally I would like to bring the number of rings down to zero for both numbers, but the 800 is the telecom's problem which they are investigating).

Why can't Verizon change the # of rings through its system? I have a $600+ iPhone that I can't seem to get to in 30 seconds! Ridiculous. "We want to make sure you have time to answer your calls!" from Customer Support? So do it already. I taught Olympian Lauryn Williams, I didn't train with her, she can probably get to her phone in 30 sec....

  • Numer of rings before voicemail..?

is there a way to change the number of rings that will happen before voicemail kicks in?.

I found this very direct solution on the AT&T Wireless discussion boards. I just did it and it worked on my iPhone 3G:
    1. On your phone, dial *#61# and click Send.
    2. Some information should be displayed: number that the calls are being forwarded to and the delay before the forwarding engages.
    3. Write down the number (including 1)
    4. Dial *61*1xxxyyyzzzz*1130# and hit Send. 1xxxyyyzzzz is the number you wrote down previously, 30 is the delay in seconds. The delay can be set in 5 second increments, 30 is maximum.
    5. Dial *#61# to verify that the new settings are active.
