How to increase render speed in premiere pro

Hey Everyone,
Is there a way to speed up the render time in premiere pro? I do realize on my mac the processor isn't the fastest. I have 8 gigs of ram and  But, I have all other programs closed, I only have premiere running and I don't have a lot of special effects. I only have some keyframes but nothing complex. Does anyone know what is going on? Every time I make a small change it takes hours to render a small section. When I started this project it didn't take as long. I only select the option to render the change I just made and not the whole video. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advanced and an intel core 2 duo processor which sin't the fastest but for a small change and a simple video 4 hours to render a section is ridiculous and frustrating and this didn't happen before.

There are two primary things you can do to speed up rendering.
1. Get a faster CPU
2. Turn on hardware acceleration.  (Or if already turned on, get a faster GPU.)
There are some secondary actions you can also do.
1. Add more memory.
2. Get more/faster hard drives.
And finally a third method which may have some limited application.
1. Avoid QuickTime.

  • How To Sync Multiple Timelines in Premiere Pro CS4?

In After Effects, if you create one Comp by dragging another one onto the "New Composition" icon, the timelines of those two comps will be synced (IE: If I jog to 00;00;16;06 in Comp01 and I switch over to Comp02, it will automatically jump to 00;00;16;06 as well).
How do I do this in Premiere Pro CS4? By default, it does not seem to sync up when I drag Sequence One into the timeline of Sequence Two. I have cuts done in the first Sequence that are important to elements I'll add in Sequence Two and I need to easily jump to those cuts.
    Thanks!

Mmm, none of these are really emulating what I can get in AE. No matter what I do in Sequence One, it will not jump to the cuts I need in Sequence Two. However, I think the easiest way to do this is...
Create markers at the cut points of Sequence One
Open Sequence One in the Source Clip Window right next to the Monitor Window, which will have Sequence Two open
Jump to the first marker in the Source Clip window, copy the time code of that marker and paste it into the timecode of the Monitor Window
Cut at this point, wash, rinse, repeat...
Having said this...this is a pain in the ***. I really wish Premiere was set up more like AE as this would have been more helpful I feel in Premiere as you'll be doing more editing here than in AE.
Unless...I'm missing something? Just to give this one last shot (and to make sure I'm being as clear as possible). Is there a way to be navigating EXCLUSIVE in Sequence Two, via either keyboard shortcut or some type of button in a monitor window, to jump around to cut points that you made in Sequence One, WITHOUT having to jump back to that sequence?
Here is the scenario I'm looking for: Sequence One has a cut at 00:00:02:00. I jump to that point in Sequence One. I click over to Sequence Two (which has Sequence One nested) and I click or hotkey to the same point in the timeline that 00:00:02:00 that Sequence One is currently setting at.
The reason this is vitally important is that I'm going to remove the space between 00:00:02:00 and 00:00:03:00 and replace just that part with something else. Thus, these cut points are vitally important.
    Any thoughts?

  • How to capture HD/SD in Premiere Pro 2.0 using Sony HVR-M15U?

I have mini dv tapes. Some are HDs and SDs. How to capture these tapes in Premiere Pro 2.0 using Sony HVR-M15U deck?
    Please help
    Mark

    Hi Jim,
    Thank you for the respond.
Yes, I tried already that way but it didn't work. The deck plays. I saw also in the monitor I connected to the deck has display. But it's not in Premiere Pro 2.0. I only saw the timecode running but it has no display. And I tried to save what I'm capturing but it says no frame captured if I not mistaken.
Fortunately, I did captured the video by "passthrough" - I mean by using the videocamera. I connected the videocamera to INPUT ports of the deck. And the firewire connected to my PC and the deck. I played the tape of course in the videocamera and begun capturing with no problem. But I think I lost the quality of the video, did I?
Jim, if you have some tips can you share it to me. I will appreciate it so much.
    Thanks again.

    Thanks.

Not sure what you are asking. A download is a download. what you do with the file afterwards is entirely up to you. If you mean to install Mac software on Win, then no, this can't be done. Furthermore you also would have to have a proper Win serial.

  • Does anyone know how to put 6 windows in premiere pro cc  for multi cameras,  for 6 cameras actually

Does anyone know how to put 6 wndows in premiere pro cc for multi cameras, for 6 cameras actually.

The workflow that Jim spelled out is for doing what's called a "multi-cam edit." This allows you to conveniently switch among different video clips, often from multiple cameras that shot the same performance or event. The end result is a segment where only one clip is visible at a time.
The way I read your question, what you want to do is show six clips all at once, which is typically referred to "picture in picture." To do that, follow the first 3 steps Jim provided. (By the way, in Step 2, the key is to stack the clips on six different tracks, as opposed to lining them up head-to-tail.) Then select each clip in turn and use the Position and Scale controls in the Effect Controls Panel to shrink it and move it where you want within the frame. Here's a tutorial video on this workflow: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-beginner-classes-with-dennis-radeke/episode-7-adobe-premie re-pro-picture-in-picture/.

  • How to increase execution speed ??

    Hi,
i want to know (if it is possible...) how to increase the speed execution of an application ??
    Thanks in advance
    Steve

Depends on what kind of application it is, where you want the speed increase, and whether you can pay for it with additional memory usage.
On general optimisations, there are two schools of thought.
The academic side says, write your application without doing any optimisations, and then optimise the bits that ou can show to be bottle necks. While this produces elegant code, the result can be very hard to optimise when you need to.
So I say; design with optimisation in the back of your mind. For example, if you need to access objects with great speed, then avoid interfaces if you can, because they will slow your code considerably, even if they do make it reuseable. Avoid massive creation of objects - for example string concatenation using + is very slow - use a stringbuffer instead if you have many to do.
For smaller increases in speed in algorithms and such, consider creating a local reference in a method to a class object, and using short in place of int in loops. Unroll as many loops as you can. Avoid making repeated reads to the same value in an array - hold it in a temporary variable instead.
For every optimisation you make, your program will get increasingly hard to read and maintain.
Do you have some more detail on what it is you want to speed up?

  • Dramatically slower encode/render times from Premiere Pro CC 2014 via both AME 2014 and direct export via PP

My recent update to Adobe CC 2014 apps has been an unmitigated disaster.  Was running the 2013 version until last week and everything was just dandy.  Very good performance and excellent render/encode times even for stuff with lots of filters and fx.
Since update 1-2 min videos with no fx or filters (or even transitions) have gone from exporting in under two minutes to well over 25 minutes.  These exports are with the same presets I regularly use (Vimeo 720HD H.264).
I've been poking around the forums here for two days looking for answers and can't find anything that works.  Tried the whole "App Nap" toggle as well as a few other tips.  Didn't do squat.  Looking for any hints/answers.  Thanks.

Premiere Pro CC 2014 renders are painfully slow.
You can rename folders, but I prefer to do it this way: Premiere Pro CC freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)

Kicked out a 1 minute edit with some color/fx in under 10 minutes.  Not as fast as in the past but at least the CPU seemed to be cranking at 500% and above per Activity Monitor.  Its barely gone over 250% in previous attempts.
    That sounds a lot better.
    MXSw wrote:
Same 1 minute edit took 35 minutes however when I exported from a PP timeline using MXF clips instead of QTs.  I assumed the QTs would speed up the process but in the past I've gotten great performance on big old RED raw files so still a bit of mystery why I can't approach the speeds I had prior to most recent CC update.
Maybe updating your project file has something to do with it. I'll keep my eye on this issue. Thanks for reporting.

  • How do I get Encore with Premiere Pro CC?

I installed CC aps and uninstalled CS6 apps. Apparently Encore was unistalled with Premiere CS6. I now have no option to install Premiere CS6. How do I get Encore?

I read on Adobe's site that Encore is no longer supported since DVDs are obsolete and everyone on the planet has fast access internet on every television and electronic viewing device in the home.  For people like myself, I have just become extinct.
This weekend I bought the fastest available iMac 27" to replace my slightly slower iMac 27" (which has the subscription Premiere Pro CS6 and Encore).  My last render on the older iMac with Encore CS6 took about 18 hours and the newer one rendered from Premiere Pro CC in 9 hours and for me thats signficiant but creating chapters in Premiere Pro CC was a waste of time since they do not transfer as embeded chapters in the m2v file format needed for creating the DVD with Encore in the older iMac.
Imagine my disappointment (and explaining it to my wife) when I come home with a $3,000.00 Mac expecting to download CS6 only to be told I have to use the CC suite and I lost ENCORE!  Shame on Adobe. My customers do not watch TV on the internet.  They do not want a memory stick movie and most in my county can't even get fast enough internet to allow quality TV viewing.  We can and only can  have one internet provider where I live and their available to the consumer bandwith is far behind.
So now that I am officially STUMPED and BEHIND I am not sure what to do.  I keep thinking about a Windows computer running Sony Vegas at this point.  I have been an Adobe user since the first photo shop came on 3.5" disks.  Apple and Adobe should let the customer decide what they need since it is already available.  This is only a way to get everyone stuck with buying bigger bandwidth and more usage with internet and cellular providers.  Soon we will all be subscribed to everything we enjoy in life.   I guess the goal is for people like me to not be able to own software forever (even if it is out of date and you still can use it).
I still have to explain to my customers what happened and to tell them what Adobe thinks about their ability to keep up with the technology.  Imagine 600 customers being told to "get up to date" or never see or have the wonderful memories I record for them.  By the way ... how do you sell 600 people access to the movie online and keep them from letting everyone else look at the video instead of purchasing one?
Now I guess Adobe wants to see who will rent the CC or get smart and gobble up the last remaining DVD software sets out there and stick with it to the last drop of usable technology is squeezed out of it.  Personlly, I am very close to giving my subscription up and saying "so long" to both Apple and Adobe software.  Corel bought BibblePro which makes the fastest, most accurate and by far the best RAW photo converting software out there and guess what ... they have video software too just like Sony.   Actually my bet is now on Sony since they are strongly supporting BluRay which will keep the DVD support going for a while.
Sorry to rant on and on but when you put 100 plus hours a week into trying to fix something that is already dead it gets kind of frustrating and my customers have already paid.  Again ... many thanks Adobe.  So now I am ready for the flames ....

  • How can I tell if my Premiere Pro project is corrupt?

    Hello All
Referring this question I posed to Adobe on Twitter here o the request of Kevin Monahan
The reason I ask the question above is because I am often working away in a project and everything is moving great and then suddenly I get a crash and Premiere Pro dumps me out.  I then go back in and it gives me the message saying that it needs to open a copy of the project I was working on and to give it a new name.  Normally I just add a sequential number and open it up.  Generally this works well as I don't seem to lose much in terms of work but I do seem to suffer as the project becomes slower and unresponsive at times. Often I will click along the timeline only to have to wait for about 5 seconds whilst the appliation/Mac catch up.  Surely this can't be right?
Also, the crashes often happen regularly and tends to be when I add the Multiband Compressor or am selecting ends of clip by holding down cmd whilst selecting clips.  This last project the application crashed about 4 times.
Are the issues I am seeing a result a corrupt project and how would I spot a corrupt project?  Is it generally the case that the bigger the project gets then the slower it will work? I don't think my edits are particularly long winded or complex so I can't understand why I am seeing this instability and poor performance.  I am however running a 2013 MacPro with Dual D700 GPUs so perhaps it is the long standing issue that this machine has been having with Premiere Pro since OS 10.9.3.
If anyone can help then I' be grateful.  I did do a short screen video showing and talking through my problems. I can post if anyone thinks that will help.
    Best wishes
    Alex

    Thanks Winston...
    Mid 2010.
Time to return the AppleTV!  Man, frustrating that the checkbox option for mirroring is there in Display Pref's when the model isn't new enough...I understand it's an OS setting, but could easily check the same attribute as displayed in About This Mac and hide that checkbox!!
    Oh well
Anyone know the exact/technical reason why Mid 2010 is not compatible and Early 2011 and newer is?  Seems like, again, if the option for mirroring is there in display pref's it should work?

The crux is I have this project in Premiere Pro CS5.5 which contains the original MOVs and time adjusted movs that I nested and turned into F4Vs, so it contains movs and f4vs with 1 aiff file and I need to send the work to the director(who has FCP7 and works on a Apple computer) so they can key out the green screen and grade it in FCP7. I prefer no to send 1 big file because there are lots of fast flickering cuts so would take alot of time to go through it pretty much frame for frame.
