How to increase sound quality of GarageBand 1.3 exports from iPhone

I'm a new iPhone user.
I bought the iPhone over Android specifically to use garageBand.
So, I've created this song in GarageBand 1.3 on my iPhone.
It's got a a couple vocal tracks (from apogee MiC) and one guitar track (from apogee JAM).
I don't own a Mac or any other iOS device.
I want to listen to the song on an external device.
I know how to export the song to email, but the thing is, the m4a that is produced is very poor quality.
Is there a setting or a method that can be used to get better quality on the export?
thanks in advance for your help.
Bob

Instead of choosing the Mail option, choose the iTunes option to share then choose iTunes again when the "Choose Format" window comes up. Under Audio Quality, choose AIFF.
You'll have to connect your phone to a computer that has iTunes installed to access the resulting file.

Try swiping the downloading progress indicator, which presumably says "Paused" now.  That should give you a "delete" option on the right.
If not, try syncing your iPhone using iTunes.

  • IPod w/Cassette Adapter-How to Optimize Sound Quality?

I have I believe a G2 iPod (15 GB), and I play it in my car using a cassette adapter. I've found that to keep the sound from degrading at above average volumes, I have to make some adjustments. One, I have to set the EQ to 'Bass Reducer'. Two, I have to make sure the volume on the iPod is at about 80%. If I go above that, the sound distorts. The lower you go below that, the more hissing you get w/ the playback. I also turn the 'Sound Check' setting on.
Any other recommendations on how to optimize the sound quality when playing it through your vehicle sound system? Also, I'm thinking about getting a G5 unit (most likely the 4 GB Nano). Anyone have any feedback on whether I can expect better sound quality, in particular in my vehicle with the setup outlined above, by upgrading to the newer unit?

Various Methods to Connect to a Car Stereo System, or Listen to Your iPod in the Vehicle
    Best:
Direct connection via the dock connector or headphone jack of your iPod, to the mini-jack input (or AUX RCA input jacks) of your car stereo. Not many low/moderate-end cars have this feature yet, but it is becoming more popular. Some aftermarket auto stereo units may have this feature.
There are also some after-market, moderate to fairly expensive direct interfaces, that hook into your existing car stereo to provide a high-quality, direct connection. Most will also power/charge the iPod. Pretty slick, but can be pricey ($80-$300). If money is no object, a clean way to go. Not very portable from car to car – if at all.

    Better:
Connect your iPod to a cassette adaptor and play your tunes through your car's cassette player. Some new cars no longer come with a cassette player, so it may not be an option. It will provide even better audio quality if you can run the audio feed out of the dock connector (see the SendStation link below). Can be portable between cars that have a cassette player and also be used in your home cassette system. $5 to $20 for the adaptors, with large variations in quality (even with the same model).
    Good:
Attach an FM transmitter to your iPod and play the tunes through an unused FM station. Convenient, but wireless FM transmitter signals are susceptible to static and outside interference, and can vary in strength and quality depending on your location. Some noticeable degradation and distortion, depending on the quality of the transmitter, the sensitivity of your ears and the airwave congestion in your area. Highly portable between cars, and may be used in a home system. FM transmitters that need to be plugged into a DC auto jack may not work in a home environment (without some sort of adaptor). You can pay from $15 to more than $80 for some of these.....but for FM quality audio, how much is too much?
    Marginal:
Attach an external speaker system to the iPod and play it in the car. Workable, but not too good - unless you spring for a $300+ Bose (or similar) system. But why? Only if your vehicle has no Stereo system, perhaps.
    Brave Techno-Geek:
This site gives some directions on adapting a car stereo by yourself. Risky, but it has been successfully accomplished by a forum member. Fairly inexpensive....unless you screw it up.
Whichever you choose, power the iPod through your car’s DC power -- either from a power adapter, or as part of the combined audio adaptor. Have a method to secure the iPod to the dash/console/etc. See the reviews for all the various accessories at the iLounge
You will also get better audio output if the dock connection plug is used, rather than the headphone jack. See Sendstation for a novel adaptor called a PocketDock. Others types are also available via this site.
I have read positive and negative reviews of each method, and within methods there are great variations in performance of different manufacture's systems – and peoples’ opinions of their performance. Some cassette adaptors/FM transmitters work poorly, some better.
FWIW: I have the iTrip Mini & the Newer Technology RoadTrip!+ FM transmitters, a Belkin cassette adaptor (used both with & w/out the PocketDock) and two vehicles with the BlitzSafe direct interface. Using the same song in the same car, I found that the FM transmitters worked, but not as good as the cassette adapter via the headphone jack. Using the PocketDock on the cassette adapter resulted in a significant audio quality improvement. As expected, the Blitzsafe direct connect was exceptionally better than everything else: less tinny, a more warmer/richer sound, and close to true CD quality.

  • How to increase video quality?

How do I increase the quality of an uploaded video? When going straight from iMovie to iWeb the 2 min clip gets reduced to 5-7MB and it looks terrible.

First, I would do a Search on this forum for "FRAPS." There are several articles with comments on the best workflow and also settings for Import and for Export.
Next, YouTube is trobulesome. First, they re-encode everything and their specs seem to change weekly. It's tough to find out what they want on any given day. I'd go to their site and get the very latest instructions and attempt to duplicate those perfectly, knowing that they might be different tomorrow.
Good luck with this one, and good luck with the FRAPS footage.

  • How to Increase Capture Quality?

Ok, I use a Canopus ADVC-110 to capture live video and I feel like I'm not getting the quality that I should seeing as I know people who use a Pinnacle Dazzle 90 on a PC and get better quality than I do. So, does anyone know how I can increase the quality on the video I capture?

Hi, I use all the time canopus and can tell you brings excellent quality.
in the past I owned a Dazzle (dont remember the model)and since new I wanted it in the trash. It gets me all the time issues, like my G5 cannot recognized it and when it does, your capturing and then it looses the comunication, etc. so I keeped back to the store and buyed canopus wich I have using for a long time and it never gived me any trouble.
Another way to capture video with real full quality is to buy a kona capture card uncompressed 10 bit, but then you will need an array of discs, 10,000 rpm discs..and a much more money!
Remember that the videogames have their limitations on resolution. Also it´s not the same to monitor a video signal in a computer monitor than in a conventional tv than in a professional monitor or hdtv.
make test not capturing video games, make a test for example, connecting a video camera signal directyly to your capture device and check the result, also the cables are the most common problems.
    hope this help!
    merry christmas!

  • How to increase the quality when exporting an animated gif

I'm using a very simple animation, with just 2 sentences been animated, the rest are static images. This is 250 x 250 banner and my requirements are, 50kb max, 30 seconds or shorter and 5fps, when saving as a gif, the quality I'm getting is really poor, is there a way to increase the quality and keeping the same requirements at the same time?
    Thanks,
    Trish

No, not the way you have animated it. You are working against the limitations of the format and doing everything "wrong" one possibly could.
    a) You are using a photo to begin with
    b) You animate opacities
    c) You move stuff
All of this will quickly exhaust the max. 256 global colors and change the dithering patterns with every frame. Unless you can come up with a more suitable design, you will have to live with the quality as it is. It's inherent in the format's limitations.

I have a problem, sound during calls on my mobile phone is low, even on MAX volume. It's ok in silent enviroment, but at street, coffee shop, bars, in some cases even when in car volume it just to low.
I have Nokia E61i and this didn't happen with my last cellphone (Nokia N73) so my conclusion is that volume can be tuned up somehow.
Is there any program to increase it or hack/patch of some kind?
I don't need to increase strength of EXTERNAL speeker, just one used for calls.
    Thank you for assistence.

  • How to increase the width of the Fluid Grid Layout from 1008px to 1080px?

Good day all, I'm experiencing a slight problem with Fluid Grid Layout in Dreamweaver CS6. I want to increase it's width so that it could be one with my Photoshop CS6 design (which is 1080px), the problem is that I can't as I am limited to 1008px. How do I increase the width? I ultimately am re-coding my design as my client demanded a responsive design but I'm clueless in that avenue which is why I resorted to re-doing everything under the set & safe default (Fluid Grid Layout) that doesn't require me to udnderstand media queries at an expert level.

While Fluid Grid Layout can save you some production time, you still need a good understanding of CSS Media Queries to use it.

Instead of fixed-widths in pixels, FLG code is all % based.  It starts with the mobile layout and cascades to tablet, then desktop.  If you want to use fixed-widths in pixels, you must manually change the CSS code for all three devices.

  • Sound slightly faster as images when exporting from PRE9 to DVD

Hi, I just finished cutting a film on Premiere elements 9.
Everything is fine. I do a final rendering by hitting the return tab. Then I edit my DVD
menus. Then I save the project and burn a dvd.
    So far so good.
The dvd looks very nice.... expect when people speak, the sound comes a quarter of a second too early, before the mouth even opens, which is very disturbing. How can I fix this problem ?

I exported the project to a .wmv media file and the sync was correct on that output.
On the PRE project, I don't see any red lines above the time lines except above some titles.
The settings selected are format HD 1080i
    25,00 img/s
    dv 2527x576i
    conversion method 24p
    interlaced images
    export is dv 2527x576i
    does it help ?

  • Share GarageBand (iOS) midi files from iPhone to iPhone

    hi guys!
I would like to send any garageband-midi-files songs (.band) made in my iphone (4s) to another iphone, so others could work with my beats.
    how I can do that?
    thanks for letting me know:-)
    lynad

Do your firiends also have a mac with GarageBand, and are the GarageBand versions compatible? See:
GarageBand for iOS and Mac: Project compatibility
Then you can share GarageBand projects by downloading the song to your Mac using iTunes or iCloud, mailing the song to your patners, and uploading it again from their Mac using iTunes or iCloud.
The detour to a computer is necessary, because otherwise you can only share the song as an audio file and not as a project. with midi included.
If your friends don't have a Mac but a PC see turingtests2's workaround:
    See this thread:

  • How can I transfer or print out my text messages from iphone 4 to MacBook Pro

How can I save or print my text messages from my iphone 4 to my computer - MacBook Pro?

You need third-party software, like this:
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
Or you can take screen shots, then email them to yourself or copy & paste into an email, again sending such to yourself. Me? I'd get Phoneview, very handy to keep around.
