How To Increase WEB CACHING HITS

Hello All,
I have configure WEB CACHING on my TMG Server 2010 , Full fill all requirements as WEB CACHING Needs but still cache results are not well GOOD.
I Tired Different type of rules but still cache utilization is around 3 to 4 % and internet traffic goes 97 %
Is there any technique to more utilization of  WEB Caching.

Hi,
You could have a look at the rule in the following blog.

  • How to increase partial cache size on Lookup stuck at 4096 MB SSIS 2012

    Hello,
After converting from SSIS 2008 to SSIS 2012, I am facing major performance slowdown while loading fact data.
When we used 2008 - one file used to take around 2 hours average and now after converting to 2012 - it took 17 hours to load one file.
This is the current scenario: We load data into Staging and Select everything from Staging (28 million rows) and use a lookups for each dimension. I believe it is taking very long time due to one Dimension table which has (89 million rows).
With the lookup, we currently are using partial cache because full cache caused system out of memory.
Lookup Transformation Editor - on this lookup -
Does anyone know how to increase the size on partial Cache size 64-bit? I am being stuck at 4096 MB and can not increase it. In 2008, I had 200,000 MB partial cache size.
Any ideas with how to make this faster?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sarora,
First of all, you may want to re-think if that huge dimension is really a dimension or you can re-design your model so you lower its cardinality.
Then, why are you using Partial Cache?
Partial Cache will end up querying directly a lot of times your huge dimension. Potentially, as many times as the No Lookup mode.
If you can afford loading the whole dimension in memory it'd be MUCH better in terms of performance. If you are loading the whole dimension, try just querying the surrogate key and the business key columns, you'll find the amount of memory used will be much
    lower.
I am not sure how much memory do you have available or how much memory the Lookup used to take, but with these amounts you talked about you were probably loading the whole table in memory. You can rough estimate the amount of memory the Lookup will take
    in Full Lookup mode using
    (ColumnWidth1 + ColumnWidth2 + ... + ColumnWidthN) * NumberOfRows

  • How to increase memory cache in After effects cs5?

    Hi everyone,
I am having a great problem with my adobe after effect CS5. When i render my huge video, It shows low memory cache. So please resolve my problem or give me appropriate suggestion. I write for Graphics too.

AE CS5 didn't do a very good job of encoding into H.264 anyway.
I'd suggest rendering to an intermediate codec (QuickTime with the Photo-JPEG codec, for example) and then bring that into the Adobe Media Encoder. The AME has a lot more options for encoding anyway (such as multipass).
For a clue as to how bad AE was at encoding H.264, the Adobe team removed the ability to do it at all from the current versions.

  • How do I increase the cache level?

I have about 361 GB free in my C drive. I would like to know how to increase the cache limit beyond 1024 MB.
I went to Firefox Logo » Options » Options » Advanced » Network and there I found the cache limit. However, the maximum limit is 1024 MB. How to increase it beyond that? Please tell me.

Apparently, the size of the cache will not go above 1 GB, so trying to make Firefox do that will be useless.

OK, sorry for the delay in getting to this one.
The reason you're all seeing these problems is that the default behaviour for Database provider component caching has changed between release 1 and release 2.
You can check this by adding &_debug=1 to the URL you're working with in the browser.
The default component cache value for that type of object is set on the first tab in the box marked 'Expire After (minutes)'
By default this is set to 0 (zero), in release 1.x of portal this meant - do not cache ever. In r2 of portal there is no option to not cache, therefore a zero value actually equates to 86,400 seconds.
The lowest value you can have is 1, which equates to a cache retention period of 60 seconds
Even if the page is set to 'Do Not Cache' the portlet content (in this case will be cached for the time specified in the 'Expire After' setting.
So, if you change these values to 1 you should start to see your changes, if you would like to check the cache retention values and whether an object is cached or not, add &_debug=1 to the URL string in the browser
You will see the following types of information under each portlet..
    Information for Portlet 33,31211
    Portlet Timing: 14 msecs (wait=66)
    Timing Status:
    XSLT Timing: null msecs
    Caching information of portlet:
Portlet Cache status: Web Cache:- HIT [H]
From Cache: Web Cache:- Cache Expires: 86400 secs, Age in Cache: 61 secs
    From Portlet: -

  • Web cache security

    Hi,
I'm looking for some specific information on Web Caches security features. Interested in finding out how to configuring Web Cache to sit behind an Apache Server that handles single sign on and authentication.
Any help would be gratefully received.
    Thanks.

Web Cache can sit in front of OHS/mod_osso. Mod_osso controls the caching policies of responses, basically making sure that protected content is never cached. There is a way to override this behavior for applications that need mod_osso for authentication but prefer to control caching policies themselves.
Web Cache has not been tested with 3rd-party authentication/authorization solutions.
Some applications use Web Cache like a repository. In order to generate a response, the app logic queries the cache to fetch objects (page metadata, login metadata, whatever) before assembling the final response and sending it back to the user.
Anyway, future releases of Web Cache will be able to deal with authorized/authenticated content in a much more sophisticated manner. But I can't go into details about that at this time.

  • How can I increase my Library Cache Hit Ratio?

I was wondering if anyone can help me out regarding the values that I am getting for my Library Cache hits stats
Half of the samples that I have taken on a periodic interval today have ranged from 89% to 96%.
The SQL that I have used is,
    SELECT
    sysdate,
    SUM(PINS-RELOADS)/SUM(PINS)*100
    from v\$librarycache
Also, Running the AWR report for 4am to 4pm, see below
    Shared Pool Statistics AWR report
                        Begin      End
    Memory Usage %:           50.83      42.43
    % SQL with executions>1:      55.56      77.13
    % Memory for SQL w/exec>1:      74.12
    Regarding the current SGA settings,
    SQL> show parameter sga_target;
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    sga_target big integer 1184M
    SQL>
    SQL> select pool,name,bytes/1048576 "Size in MB" from v$sgastat where name = 'free memory';
    POOL NAME Size in MB
    shared pool free memory 135.742641
    large pool free memory 15.9389648
    java pool free memory 16
    The main questions are,
    a) is the low Library cache hit ration particularly low?
    b) if I want to improve this figure, it is advised that the 'SHARED_POOL_SIZE' parameter should be increased.
Obviously Oracle itself is in charge of this at present, so what can I do to improve?
    c) Are there any really good links to help me to understand the figures that appear in the AWR report.

    a) is the low Library cache hit ration particularly low?
I didnt understand this. Can you please rephrase?
    b)
Well indeed that shared pool controls the allocation and everything about Library Cache but it doesnt mean that increasing the value will stop all the issues. Its among the hardest parameters to be tuned infact for the reason that what primarly comes into it,sql statements, code and all that, that is not written entirely by a dba/tuner.Its by developers who does some times not so good things that are required to make shared pool work properly.Very commonly occuring mistake can be quoted as the lack of use of bind variabls and constant use of literals. In that case, eventualy we will have a hard parse of all the statements which will eat up the shared pool some time or the other. No matter what size it may be,it will end to the same result.Hit ratio is a guiding factor, not the end goal of tuning. Its been documented so many places, here, other forums, even in OU books also that looking and tuning alone the hit ratio may not end up at the expected or right results. You should look for the Parse statistics in the AWR report how they are working. How many are Parse(hard),Parse(total) statistics coming up?What is the sql execute to parse time, elapsed time and the related statistics. They will be helpful in getting things sorted out more nicely and correctly.
I am sure I have missed so much than I said.Surely you will get more better advice on this.Have patience and wait.
b)Documentation will be a good point.Performance tuning in that is a good resource.

I am not sure about a specific book about AWR but this one is good for over all knowledge about tuning of Oracle.

  • Oracle AS Web Cache - How to check whether the request goes throught it ?

    Hi,
My application runs on Oracle 10g App Server,
The OracleAS Web Cache is also running
    the command opmnctl status shows...
    WebCache - Alive
    WebCacheAdmin - Alive
Is there any way to check whether the request form the client goes through the Web Cache ?
B'coz when i checked OracleAS Web Cache Administrator UI
The information like Total Requests Served, Cahce Hit , Cache Misses etc are 0 and it does'nt changes...
I have the directive keepAlive as[b] off in httpd.conf, will this have an impact over Web Cache ???
Plz suggest me a way to check whether the request goes through Web Cache or directly to Oracle HTTP Server ??
    Deepak.C

Keepalive has no impact on webcache, but it does have a huge impact on performance. So far I found no proper reason to put it off in any production system.
Anyway, logging from webcache and/or apache (ias) should show how requests are going from the client to the AS.

  • How to find out what is in the web cache

I have set up the web cache and its showing
25% fresh hits, 25% cacheable misses and 50% non-cacheable misses and I want to look at what is not getting cached to see how to improve this ....
But all I can see is stats of the cache and no details of what is in the cache...
    Any suggestions
    Rob

Our upcoming release will include a feature which will tell you what's in the cache. This is a new feature, so we won't release it as part of a patch set, rather as part of the next dot release.

  • Issue to follow-up hits statistics on portal pages due to web cache

    Hi,
I follow-up hits-statistics on my portal pages using a simple PL/SQL element on each page, that INSERTS into a specific table, in order to follow-up hits on each portal pages.
My problem is that, due to the web cache, the PL/SQL element that performs the INSERT, runs only sometimes, and therefore my statistics are not accurate.
How could I run my PL/SQL element each time the page is accessed ?
    Thanks for your help;
    Best Regards,
    Jean-Christophe

    Hi JP,
"Our WBT courses do not get followed up at all in the new standard way."
We experienced this as well after implementing the solution in note 1796928. The cause of our problem turned out to be a missing authorization on the user account we use to run the web content player. In our case, the user had no read authority for infotype 1001 so function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C never made the call to function ZLSO_IF_AUTO_CONFIRM.
To discover the cause, we needed to debug function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C, however since it runs in a separate task we couldn't debug directly.
To get around this, we added messages of type X at various points in the function's enhancement code. This forced the function to dump at runtime, and we then looked at the runtime error log to see the contents of the dump message. This enabled us to find the problem. Maybe you could try this same debug-via-dump approach to identify the source of your problem.
Another thing to check is that users have authorization object P_LSO_FOUP.
I also want to mention that as part of our implementation, we made the same enhancement to function LSO_CP_WRITE_SCORMDATA as was made to function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C so that function LSO_CP_WRITE_SCORMDATA also calls function ZLSO_IF_AUTO_CONFIRM.
    Cheers,
    Amy

  • How to increase the number of rows to be displayed in BEx Web Analyzer

    hi,
I am viewing reports using BEx Web analyzer option. It is displaying only 24 rows  of data at a time. How to increase the number of rows? do i need to any kind of settings?
    pls reply.

    Hi,
I think the standard template in 2004s is named 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. You can find it in Web Application Designer, open, and search for the technical name. If you want to change the number of rows or columns, you can find this setting near the bottom of the XHTML view of the template:
    <bi:BLOCK_COLUMNS_SIZE value="4" />
    <bi:BLOCK_ROWS_SIZE value="17" />
Then just save, and ignore the error messages.

  • How to delete Message cache without bouncing web server?

When a message ( FND_NEW_MESSAGES) that is used in a OA Framework page is updated, it is not reflected in the OA web page right away.
Clearing cache through Functional Administrator does not help for messages.
How to delete message cache so that a OA Framework page shows updated message text? Is there any way other than bouncing web server?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I think clearing cache through Functional Administrator should do.
You can try the below process...
Search for "_pages" (get in touch with DBA to know exact path) in $COMMON_TOP and remove using command "rm -Rf _pages". Then clear cache through Functional Administrator.
Let us know if this helps.
