I paid for and downloaded emoji but I cannot insert the pictures into my pages document. How do I insert emoji characters into my pages document?

Why would you do that? Just use Character Viewer to input Apple's built in emoji.

Pages 09 does not support color emoji, use Pages 5 instead.

After I pass from one page to another,
TEST& becomes "TEST&"
I put " " on the above test, otherwise amp; will be truncated by OTN).
TEST# becomes TEST (# is truncated).
Actually the value is saved in table like this: "TEST&"

Avoid doing that through a link. If this is a page item then submit the page and redirect to the target page using a branching. On the target page, create a computation to compute the target item using the original page item as the source. If you are talking about a report, use the id to pass through the link and fetch the text column in an on load computation.

How to insert specific characters into a string based on string length?

I have a field called street number on a form where the user
enters a street number. The user may enter up to 5 digits. It is
stored in the database as a 5 character field. If the street number
is 556, it is stored in the table as '00556'. If it is '1234', it
is stored in the table as '01234'. As you can see, if its less than
5 characters, the field name must have leading zero's.
I'm trying to write a function that converts the number that
was input by the user. How do I do this? I tried a similar approach
to Python where its as simple as 5 * '0' would give you '00000' or
5 * 'a' would give you 'aaaaa'.
Here's what I tried:

<cfset new_streetnum = (5 - len(streetnum) * '0') &
streetnum>

But this doesn't work in ColdFusion. I'm sure there's an easy
way to do this.

or you can use CF's repeatstring() function:

you don;t even need to wrap it in <cfif> - if the
length of streetnum is
5 then nothing will be added by repeatstring() function.

Now, i want to insert into database chinese characters. Please guide me how to do the following thing.
How to insert chinese characters on local machine and if i want to insert on the remote databse (i can not create database link for remote database). I have to send batch file or SQL file and they will execute it on their side.
if i use this command
alter session set nls_language = "SIMPLIFIED CHINESE"
and then insert the records and revert back to japanese character set. Is this correct way....?

As dombrooks has pointed out, unless all the Chinese characters you are trying to store can be represented in the Shift-JIS character set, which seems unlikely, but I'm not an expert on East Asian languages and I believe there are some glyphs that are shared between various languages, then you're not going to be able to store this data in this database in CHAR or VARCHAR2 columns.
Depending on the national character set, you may be able to store the data in NCHAR/ NVARCHAR2 columns, though using these data types can substantially increase application complexities since various languages and libraries don't support NCHAR/ NVARCHAR2 columns or require you to jump through some hoops to use them. Your applications would also have to support both character sets, so your applications would all have to be Unicode enabled most likely, which is certainly possible but it may not be a trivial change.

For Example I have an object like "rownum" (Which should must be added at Universe level only not at report level). Here this object is not referencing any table and I want this to be used in a query where the remaining objects are coming from the context..

Insert Unicode Characters Into Oracle 8.1.5

First off, here are the specs:
Oracle 8.1.5
JDK 1.2.1
Oracle8i 8.1.6.2.0 JDBC Drivers for use with JDK 1.2.x for Solaris
I'm running into a problem with insert Unicode characters into Oracle via the JDBC driver. As you can see above, I am using the Oracle 8.1.6.2.0 JDBC driver because it is the first driver with supports the JDK 1.2.x. So I think I should be okay.
I can retrieve data with special characters from Oracle by calling the getBytes() method from the ResultSet with all special characters being intact. I am using getBytes because calling getString() would throw the following exception: "java.sql.SQLException(): Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv". However, with that value that I just retrieved, or any other data with special characters (unicode) in which I try to insert into Oracle does not get converted properly.
What appears to be happening is that data with special characters (unicode), are not being treated as a single double byte character, but rather two single byte characters. Thus, R|ckschlagventil becomes RC<ckschlagventil once it is inserted. (Hopefully, my example will be rendered properly).
According to all documentation that I have found, the JDBC driver should not have any problem with converting UCS2 Java Strings to Oracle's UTF8 character set.
I have set Oracle's NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET to UTF8. I am also setting the environment variable NLS_LANG to AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8. Perhaps there is some other environment setting in which I am missing?

Import has a lot of options, so it depends on what you want to do.
C:\> imp help=y
will show you all possible options. An example of full import :

Could some one tell me how to insert a query into a new workbook? i am trying to run query in NW2004S BEx Query Designer, which always open the query on web when executed. i want to run the query in NW2004S BEx Query Designer and want it to open the result in Excell.
If i am not wrong then to do the same, i need to embed the query into workbook. Correct me if i am wrong. If i am right then plzz tell me the steps to insert the query into workbook.

If you open the BEx Query Designer from the desktop, you cannot execute the query directly to the BEx Analyzer for an Excel view. You can only execute it directly to the Web. This is true for the SAP BW 3.x version as well as the SAP NetWeaver 2004s version.
If you open the BEx Query Designer from within BEx Analyzer, once you select (or create) your query, you will have a green check mark icon that will then allow you to deploy the query directly to the BEx Analyzer for the Excel view.
However, this would only make sense if you are creating or modifying the query. If not, you would simply open BEx Analyzer and use the Open Query option in this tool to see your query in an Excel format, as has been previously suggested by the other respondents to this posting.

You can use an interactive object such as a click box placed over the top of a text caption, or a button, to link to the URL. However, these will not strictly-speaking appear identical to hyperlinks.
If you really want to replicate the rollover appearance of a true HTML text hyperlink, then you might consider the Hyperlink widget from Infosemantics:

Insert french characters into the database

Hi,
My user requirement is to insert french characters into the db. However he has set as per my suggestion of altering session alter session set nls_language='french' he can't insert french characters. Is this using alter session helps to retrieve only the outputs in french language or to insert too?
Please help.

Your database character set is US7ASCII : you can only insert ASCII characters which is OK for most French characters but not all. This cannot work for:

Issue of inserting greek characters into Oracle database using ICAN505

Hi All,
We are currently facing an issue of inserting greek characters into Oracle database using ICAN505.
We receive a file containing greek characters.The values from the file should be inserted into the database.We are reading the file using file OTD with default encoding.
The file can contain english characters too other than greek characters.
The database NLS_CHARACTERSET is AL32UTF8.
When I insert using an insert statement directly ,the values get inserted properly into the DB table.
Inserting the same values using code results in improper characters getting inserted into the table in the database.
Please help....

Hi Bob,
With titles, all you need to do is drag them directly onto a video clip or still - the Theme will automatically take care of placing the video into the appropriate frames.
Similarly with transitions. Drag the theme transition between 2 clips (video or stills) and the frames will be "populated" automatically. If you now click on the transition, you will see that each frame is numbered, both in the viewer and the timeline. Simply drag the numbers in the timeline to a different position to change the stills in the transition.

So, I want to use APPLIED_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINE_ID to join with transaction's line (RA_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINES_ALL).
But after applied the credit memo, the APPLIED_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINE_ID is NULL.

The application is already at the AR Invoice (header) level. Oracle doesn't give you privilege to apply the invoice at invoice line or distribution level. You need to match the applied_customer_trx_id to customer_trx_id of ra_customer_trx_all to get the applied invoice/debit memo number. Hope my comments are helpful to you.
