Please suggest me how I do this ????
Thanks in advance.

Do you want to insert 72 rows from the same table but just changing  value of the one column? If so,  take a look at Scott's solution

  • How to copy  existing  row  value into new row  with a trigger. Same table

    Oracle guru,
    I am looking for a before or after trigger statement that will copy existing values inserted in the previous row into columns A & B. Then insert those values in a new row into column A & B if null? Same table. Hopefully my question is clear enough.
    -Oracle 10g express
    -I have an existing " before insert trigger" that insert id and timestamps when a new row is created.
    -Table is composed of column like id,timestamps,A,B and more.
    Thanks in advance
    Pierre

    PierreI will call it a very Wrong design.
    It is a wrong Table Design. You are duplicating the data in table and not complying with the Database Normalization rules.
    How about Verifying if Column A & B are NULL before inserting and inserting another row and avoiding it in Triggers?
    If you are bent to achieve this, below code might be helpful. However, I would never go with this approach. If you would care about explaining the reason for going ahead with such a data model, people could suggest better alternative that might conform with Normalization rules.
    create or replace trigger trg_test_table

  • How to insert multiple rows in a single insert statement in MaxDB?

    hi,
    I was looking at syntax but i could not get it right.. may be some could help me.
    // Insert single row works fine
    INSET INTO test_table(column_name) values (value1) IGNORE DUPLICATES
    // Insert multiple rows, doesn't
    INSET INTO test_table(column_name) values (value1), (value2), (value3) IGNORE DUPLICATES
    Can somebody help me with this.
    thanks,
    sudhir.

    Multiple inserts do only work with parametrized statements, usually used in interfaces like JDBC, ODBC etc.
    With static SQL statements it is not possible.

  • How to insert a row in the detail table of a treeTable (master/detail)?

    Is there any small, working example with JDev 11.1.2.1 on how to programmatically insert a row in the detail table represented by the treeTable component?
    Please don't send links to this example http://jobinesh.blogspot.com/2010/05/crud-operations-on-tree-table.html , which does not work.
    Thanks.

    Erp, why do you keep giving the links to that example or the zip including the project of that example? I explicitly asked to not send any links to that example, which does not work with jdev 11.1.2.1.
    This is the exception from that one when trying to create a new record on the details:

  • How to insert a row in UDO of type document with document line using DIAPI

    Does somebody knows if there is a way to insert a new row in a UDO of type document and document lines using the DI API?
    I tried it by using <i>oCompany.UserTables.Item( "PMX_DOC" )</i> but this was not working.
    Thanks for the help.
    Regards,
    Jeffrey

    We have to insert the row in a server process so it is not possible to use the UIAPI.
    I wanted to do it by writing SQL statements to do the insert/update/deletes but it seems that we are not allowed to do this if you want to certify your addon. Does somebody knows how we can get an addon certified but also updating our own UDO using DIAPI?
    Thanks.
    Regards,

  • How to Insert the row in the View object

    I want to insert the row in the view object by instantiating Impl.java file
    Could someone please let me know how to insert the blank row
    Thanks

    Inserting onto a view object should be done the following way:
    //vo is your view object
    Row aRow = vo.createRow();
    //Set your attributes
    aRow.setAttribute("AttributeName", objectValue);
    //insert
    vo.insertRow(aRow);
    That should work for you if you are programming the input. If you are using java components bound to columns in a view object then the input should be done automatically for you when you commit.

  • ADF mobile : How to insert new rows in shopping cart application

    Hi All,
    I'm developing a shopping cart sample application.
    The first page shows 3 rows(with item and quantity columns) and "Add Row" & "save to shopping cart " buttons . On clicking add row button i want to add 4th row to the table  and on clicking "save" button all the items should add to cart.
    Can somebody tell me how to add dynamic rows in adf mobile and access the data in DC to save the data.
    Thanks,
    Prashanth.

    Are you talking about working with the local SQLite database on the device or with a remote database on the server?
    For local DB - check out the HR ADF Mobile sample.

  • How to insert a row into nth row of a table

    Hi
    I am new to oracle. I just have a doubt. How do i write a sql query to insert into the nth row of a table with and without rownum.
    Could some one help me in this
    Thanks

    I'm not sure I really understand what you are asking. Since there is no real concept of a physical Nth row in a heap organized table (by definition - it's a heap), it doesn't make sense to me to ask how it can be done regardless of mechanism.
    Perhaps it is a terminology issue? A cursor is a static object which represents a handle to a memory area which Oracle uses to store information needed for processing a statement. The execution of a cursor creates a result set (sometimes also called a row set). A cursor variable is a pointer (i.e. memory address) to a cursor and can be used as a parameter to procedures/functions, etc.
    The point of confusion, I think, is that with a heap table, there is no inherent ordering. You might have columns like an "ID" column that have numeric values that can be used to order the results of a select statement by using an "order by", but there is no inherent order in the storing of the rows in the table itself.
    You can insert rows into a table using an "insert into" with an "order by", but I am not sure if that is what you mean either. However, over time as rows are deleted, updated, inserted the initial ordering of the table can be lost.
    Not sure that helps, but perhaps.
    Regards,
    Mark
