How to Insert Image in XML publisher Report

Hi Forum,
I have created rtf file for xml report and in this i inserted one Image. When run the request from apps environment and while checking the output in excel format, Image is not displaying..
Please advice me.

I have a problem to insert an JPG Image(Dynamique Logo depending on setid ) into My XMLPublisher report.
My Image is stored in database. My query return the field image
I Use this syntaxe:

<xsl:value-of select=".//IMAGE"/>
</fo:instream-foreign-object>
where IMAGE is the image field name of my query.
But this does'nt work ; any Help please ?

How to print output of XML Publisher report in different trays of a printer

Hi All,
I have a requirement in XML Publisher Report. I need to print all pages other than last one in one tray of a printer and the last page has to be printed in another tray of the same printer.
Can anyone help me out...

I do not think it is possible to send all the pages to one tray and send only the last page to a different tray. However, you may review the following notes:

HRMS - Diplaying Employee image in XML Publisher Report

I have uploaded employee picture through people screen in HRMS, The same picture i am trying to display in my XML report. Concurrent request is ending with warning. I couldnt find any help from metalink and SR. Got some clues from metalink to use URL. but we need to display employee image for each employee. did anybody worked on the same requirement. please provide the complete steps for the same.

Xml Publisher Report Without RDF

Hi experts,
I need to customize the seeded XML publisher report.Till now i developed XML publisher reports by developing rdf only. But here i didn't see any rdf for it..
without rdf how we can create the xml publisher report. I need to insert a field in this report where i need to insert this field.
where i found the SQL query for this report.Please help me

Here I need to customize the Sales Order XSL Template which is a seeded template in Order Management.
and it will execute when user select the actions button-> print and prview .so there is no concurrent program for this.they did the setups for this.
I didn't find any datetemplate for this in data defination window.here I need to change this one as
1.     Update the Report Header to read “Dispatch Note” instead of “ORDERING DOCUMENT”.
2.     Inclusion of logo for each police authority (Open Issue).
3.     Modification to include *“United Kingdom” instead of U.S.* in the free text portion of the PRODUCT section. “United Kingdom” value will be derived from the country specified for the selected organization and not hardcoded.
4.     Footer to include shipment date instead of Sales Order Creation date and the document should be available to print only after Ship Confirm.
5.     Updating the Layout template in the Transaction Type setup, so that it points to the modified layout template.
6.     The modified Dispatch Note document will be included in the Ship Confirm document set and this document set will be included in the respective Ship Confirm rules. This Ship Confirm Rule will be attached in the Shipping parameters tabs for both the organisations. This step would enable the Dispatch Note to be printed automatically after successful completion Ship Confirm process.
I have *.XSD file and .XSL file * .. I don't find any data template in datadefination window to see the SQL query.
I thought now i have to change the *.XSD AND .XSL FILES* is it right? Is there any other solution for this ..

Dear Gurus,
I have 3 pages of data. But i want print first 2 pages of data print in one page and 3rd page should be print as 2nd page.
Is there any way to develop the rtf, pls guide me on this.

Rendering Imges in XML Publisher Report

Hi,
We have the requirement of Rendering Images in XML Publisher Report.This images will be for each record you export. We do not want to construct the URL at run time and show the image, rather want to send the data through XML as encoded binary information and at run time to interpret the data and render the Image.
Is this supported in XML Publisher, if yes , what are the steps to follow in sending the data (specific encoding/formats etc)

How to add different versions of layout in XML Publisher Report?

How to add two versions of layout(RTF) for different languages in xml publisher report template so that user can see the report in two languages? Is that possible?
If so then what is the procedure to do that? Can anyone help in this regard?

How to print Barcode data in Oracle XML Publisher Report

Hi,
We have an rdf report which prints Bar code in the starting page based on a custom procedure from MarkView. It works well with Oracle Reports.
But since the current report was a matrix report, we are changing it to a Linear report through Oracle XML Publisher Report.
We have all the things possible in the new Oracle XML Report.. But we are unable to print the Bar code data which is BLOB in the XML Report..
Can anyone help me on this? We have UAT dates around the corner..

Bar code Registration Steps in XMLPublisher responsibility:
1.    Go to responsibility XML Publisher Administrator
2.    Open Administration
3.    Open Font Files Tab
4.    Create Font File
5.    Give Font Name : XX_BARCODE
6.    File : Browse Barcode file
7.    Apply
8.    Go to Font mapping Tab
9.    Open Create Font Mapping Set
10.    Give Mapping Name: XX_BARCODE
11.    Give Mapping Code: XX_BARCODE
12.    Type : FO TO PDF
13.    Apply
14.    Open Tab Create Font Maping
15.    Font Family: Code39-Digits(This name should be exactly the font name comes in word)
16.    Style: Normal
17.    Weight: Normal
18.    Target Font Type: Truetype
19.    Continue
20.    Font : XX_BARCODE
21.    Apply
1.    Go to Template Tab
2.    Query for your template
3.    Open Edit Configuration
4.    Click on FO Processing
5.    In Font Mapping set Give XX_BARCODE
RTF Template (word):
1.Design the RTF template
2.Insert the barcode against reqd field
3.Make sure to put an * before and after the barcode so that scanner understands the beginning and end
Please send your rtf ,xml file if you are still facing issues.

How to call the XML Publisher Report thro Standard PO Output for Comm.

We need to call our custom report(XML Publisher Report) from the standard PO Output for Communication Report.
There is a parameter(Purchase Order Layout) in PO Output for Communication in which we can see no. of standard reports. We want to add our custom report in that list so that when we will run this standard report by selecting our custom report for Purchase Order Layout parameter, we should get the output as per our Custom report.
Since PO Output for Communication is a Java Concurrent Program, we are not able to place our custom report in the list of Purchase Order layout Parameter.

How to invoke XML Publisher report in 11i

Can anybody please guide me on How can we invoke xml publisher report in 11i and how can we call XML publisher report from form or OA framework.

1. From a form ... a little tricky. Forms 6i has v limited java support so calling the XMLP apis directly is going to be tough. We do have a few products and customers that do it, here are a few scenarios:
a. Have a button/menu item to call the report, this actually kicks off the concurrent manager to submit a report that XMLP will format
b. Have a button that calls the plsql package, 'htp', this in turn can call an OA page where a report can be rendered in the page.
2. From OAF page - much easier. You can call the TemplateHelper API form your page passing data, template reference, lang, terr, output format - the API will return the output.
For the OAF approach and option'b' for forms I would recommend using the XMLP common region. This is a region that can be plugged into your custom page. Its very configurable - you can point it to a concurrent request, a completed document e.g. a PDF doc, you can pass it XML data from your BC4J objects or a data template. You can then configure what changes the user can make, change template, language, locale, output - please check the user guide for details on the Common Region.

How to add a digital signature in xml publisher report

The problem is: There is a existing pick slip report.This is a xml publisher report and the data source is RDF. We have to add digital signature there. Now this signature is stored in a table with type Long Raw and format BMP. XML Publisher do not support Long Raw and BMP format. It supports BLOB and jpg format.
Could you please guide how to add this signature in the existing RDF with datatype as BLOB and format as jpg.
Please provide the steps with example.

How to go one level up in xml publisher reports

I am working in XML Publisher reports; I am working Invoice report (standard report), below is my requirement.
Template sample:

Requiremet: If 'trx_type' is INV i want to print commodity_code as COMMODITY_CODE else null.
I tried like this. It's didn't work out.

Here, actually trx_type is in upper loop, it's not checking the TRX_TYPE='INV' condition, it's always going to else part. So I tried like below to go one level up.

Still this is also not working. Is there any solutions, where we can use the upper level group field in line level to check the if condition.
Any suggetion is appreciated.

To go one level up from current,
you have to use ../ELEMENT_NAME Since you are trying to access a field in G_LINES context.
you have to open the xml and see, how may levels are there from G_LINES to G_INVOICE
if its 2 level up, then use ../../ELEMENT_NAME and likewise.

I am working on XML Publisher reports, EBS 11I and Database 9i. I have standard report 'PO Printed Purchase Order Report (XML)', it's output type is XML. I want to change the sequence of groups in XML file.
I am getting XML tags like below at present:
LIST_G_HEADERS \ G_HEADERS \ LIST_G_HEADER_NOTES
I want to change the sequence of groups like below.
LIST_G_HEADERS \ G_HEADERS \ LIST_G_LINES \
Could somebody help me how to change the sequence of XML Groups.

I am still working through the implications of having a data connection defined. I notice that every time I submit, it creates two records in my database, one with all the fields blank, and one with the data and attachment.
I will have to do some more digging into the double submission, but at least it is uploading the file.
