How to insert into 2 tables from the same page (with one button link)

Hi,
I have the following 2 tables....
Employees
emp_id number not null
name varchar2(30) not null
email varchar2(50)
hire_date date
dept_id number
PK = emp_id
FK = dept_id
Notes
note_id number not null
added_on date not null
added_by varchar2(30) not null
note varchar2(4000)
emp_id number not null
PK = note_id
FK = emp_id
I want to do an insert into both tables via the application and also via the same page (with one button link). I have made a form to add an employee with an add button - adding an employee is no problem.
Now, on the same page, I have added a html text area in another region, where the user can write a note. But how do I get the note to insert into the Notes table when the user clicks the add button?
In other words, when the user clicks 'add', the employee information should be inserted into the Employees table and the note should be inserted into the Notes table.
How do I go about doing this?

My pl/sql code is the same as posted earlier.
Upon inserting data into the forms and clicking the add button, I get this error...
ORA-06550: line 1, column 102: PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "NOTES": invalid identifier ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
     Error      Unable to process row of table EMPLOYEES.
Is there something wrong with the pl/sql code or is it something else?

Convert it to a ADO .Net recordset and store it in a object variable in SSIS.
Then you can use it to populate the table using foreach loop with ado enumerator

How to insert an username from the login page to the form page

Hi friends,
I created one database apex application in which it consist of three pages...
1)login page----->1
2)form page along with report page(in same page) i.e. i created a report region within a form region
3)form page(this page appears when i click the edit option in my previous report page
(i.e.) my 3rd form page depends upon my 2nd report page, as soon after i click the edit option of each and every row in my report which is in 2nd page it has to go to the corresponding 3rd form page for making an updations in each and every row...
I have created my above listed applications....
But the scenario for me is since the login page contains two fields, that is
user name:
password:
so i will be giving my name in the user name and also respective PW for accessing to my 2nd and 3rd page in my application...
Since my 2nd form page consist of following fields like
*) user name---------->
*) assigned to
*) status
*) start date
*) priority
so my requirement over here is soon after i logging into my application through the user name and PW into second page, while coming to the second form page
my user name field in my 2nd form page has to get inserted automatically with the user name that i have entered in the login page...
example: my user_name in login page is :harry
after going into the second form page with the user name "harry"
the field of my 2nd form page "username" has to get automatically generated with the name "harry"
Whether it is possible friends to do this in my application....i doesn't have any idea of it...Kindly help me friends to solve my scenario...please explain each and every steps in detailed manner...
Since the user_name: harry, is of I got from the admin side as a developer for the workspace......

I made the following changes that you said, but there is just a one change in it...
You told these changes
Source Used: always, replacing any existing values in session state.
Source Type: Database column
Source value or expression: (respective column name)
and in Default: u need to give-----> &APP_USER.(exactly the same including the full stop)....

Hi,
You need to switch to design mode (BEx Analyser Menu - Design Toolbar - Design Mode). For each query that you want to embed, insert an analysis grid item in the workbook. Link each analysis grid to its corresponding data provider (query).

Thank you so much - so simple! I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options. I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it. Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.

Ok... I see your problem... when pasting into Pages, the formulas from Numbers are included. Perhaps this is really more of a Pages question (in which case I'm far from expert). A couple of ideas:
• In Pages, try "Edit"/"Paste and Match Style", which may insert tab delimited cell values (no formulas). Then, if you want the table format back, select these newly pasted tabbed values and use Page's "Format"/"Table"/"Convert Text to Table"/
• In Numbers, before copying, make a temporary table of the plain values first, then copy and paste that into Pages. To do this, select the range of cells you desire in the Numbers and "Edit"/"Copy". Then "Edit"/"Deselect All" and "Edit"/"Paste Values" and "Edit"/"Cut". Now just a table of values is on the clipboard and you can head over to Pages to paste.

· Why does JHeadstart not make use of the UIX-Struts integration (see Chapter 15 of the UIX developers Guide)?This has been done to allow the same page to be run both with Struts and MVC Framework, without needing to change the page. Using the UIX-Struts integration would have made the pages 'controller aware'.
· How do you specify which columns/attributes in a Table Layout are sortable?As far as generation is concerned, you can only specify the whole table to be sortable. In case of UIX you can post-gen modify the <sortableHeader> tag of each column separately. In case of JSP you can remove the <a href> tag for each column that you do not want to sort on.

2 single selection tables on the same page

I used the following great article:

to create a singlerow select table. But I want 2 of these tables on the same page of my tabset component.
On my page i have:

but when I added the second table, I had to add the duplicate the above 4 methods, changing currentRow to currentRow2 and tablePhaseListener to tablePhaseListener2, and changing the method names. I also had to make these updates in 2 other places---on the JSP code, as well as in the JavaScript!! For just 2 tables this isn't too bad, but with more tables having to synchronize everything could get real ugly real fast. Am I doing something wrong?

It seems to work, however my IE browser is still reporting some minor Javascript errors that I don't get when I had only 1 single-row select table

I also went the route of duplicating all methods for the single-selectable row in a table.
I have at most on my pages two tables with selectable rows and I have not run into any javascript issues.
I have had a problem when I rename my tables from "table1" etc. The row selection does not work as well when I give my table objects meaningful names. I have not had the time to dig in and discover why.

I like to use multiple desktops and move back and forth between then using gestures. At the moment I have 5 open: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Photoshop CS 6 and a desktop. I use "gestures" to navigate between them:

and I use Mission Control (F3) to move the various desktops around in the order I want them.

So say I'm searching for a photo to open in CS 6, I find it on the open desktop then hit select "open" in CS 6 and go to that folder in the select pane.
Even right now I'm typing this in Safari and "gesturing" back to Chrome where I did the search about multi touch and mission control. I drag copy the URL there and gestured back here to paste the URL into this text.
If you did a lot of photo searches, I set professional clients of mine in Chicago up with dual monitors (In this case you'd have an external monitor on extended desktop.). So all you need to do is just glance over at the second monitor slide your cursor over there open stuff up find your photo and go back to Photoshop and open it up.

I followed the multi-slect sample in Winston's blog and everything is working. However, when I tried to put two tables on the same page, the selections are all messed up. When I looked at the code again I realized the line
RowKey rowKey = (RowKey)getValue("#{currentRow.tableRow}");
in the setSelected(Object object) method.
In the case that there are more than one tables on one page, how does the code which table it is refering to? Or how the code should be different so we can have multi tables with selectable rows on the same page? Thnx.

When I have finished reviewing an app, if I click the back arrow in the top left corner it takes me back to the first page of the category. Not very user friendly when there are dozens of pages to click through to get back to where you were. How do I get back to the same page I was on?
