How to insert photos over clips

Friends,
In iMovie 08 I could insert photos over clips.
I can´t see how to do this in iMovie 09.
If it is possible, could someone please tell me how to do it?
In mid-stream of an edit and would be very much assisted if I could be advised asap.

Hi -
In Preferences, select Show Advanced Tools.
Close Preferences
Drag the photo you want to the place you want it to inserted, and drop
A menu will open that will allow you the choice of inserting or using the photo as a cutaway (among other things).

Welcome to the forums.
Please import the clip in the project panel, right click on the clip and select new sequence from clip option, you can also drag the clip to new item icon at the bottom of the project panel to create a sequence.

To insert a gap clip: Choose Edit > Insert Gap (or press Option-W).

How to insert photos in a project?

I drag photos from the media browser on the project, inside of a given clip, until it gets blue, and let it fall. I adjust the length of the photo by moving the start or end from the photo.
BUT WAIT: Sometimes, the photo is visible as a blue thing over the clip, but it does not appear when playing the movie or hovering over. Sometimes it works as expected, but not very often.

Set your desired e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and select a photo and share ==> e-mail
Or in the e-mail client use the media browser (if available) or use the client's attach command (typically under the file menu ) and look in the media browser sertion in the lower left under media ==> photos ==> iPhoto
Or drag the photo from iPhot to the e-mail client in the DOCK
or select the photo in iPhoto and export to the desktop and attach from there

Share Aperture photos over network

Hallo every body,
iam searching for a solution, how to share photo over network for a long time, in our company we have 40 macs(imac, mac bookpro) and 3 xserve, vtrak and 30pc. and we have round about 30000 pic they are saved in iphoto library on one of the xserve.
My Boss wants from me to find a solution to share these photos over network. the mac users must use iphoto to access these photos.
which program shall i install on the server so that the client users can access the photos from there macs through iphoto.
at the beginning i used the share library option in iphoto, until iphoto 9.1.1. By iphoto 9.1.1 on the client when i click on the shared library my searching field disappears and i cant search in the shared photos.
I thought Aperture is the solution, so i shared the aperture library over the network (with afp protocoll) but in order to access the network aperture library, first i need to install aperture on the client and then i open iphoto and from iphoto option i can choose the option access aperture library.
how can i solve it without to install aperture on the client, is there any iphoto plugin so that i can access aperture library without installing aperture
or is there somebody uses another solution???

Neither iPhoto nor Aperture is the solution for this.
The idea of using iphoto on the client machines is wrong, it's just not designed for that use. Iphoto is designed for a family with a point and shoot camera, or even a phone. Aperture is a pro level photomanager. Installing Aperture on all the mchines means you will have to purchase the app for all the machine, you need a site licence.
Also, it won't work anyway. You can't share an Aperture Library like an iPhoto one an only one user can access the Library at a time. So, one of the users acesses the Library and all the others are locked out.
Neither are what you need: you need a media server application. A pro level media server. Tell your boss he's fooling himself if he thinks anything else will work reliably.

How do I place a still photo over a video?

How do I place a still photo over a video, where the sound keeps steady, but the still photo replaces the videos image for a duration?
I've got one placed and it's working great, but can't remember how I did it. I've tried everything. I'm working with iMovie 08'.
It appears like a music item in my project window, a thin blue filled line with the duration in it, just above the video and I can adjust the length of time the still is displayed. (Just like an audio/sound clip) The audio is uninterrupted.
Can anyone help me? Thank you!

How do I delete a clip without every other clip in my timeline moving over?

So i've been editing for hours, and somehow, the first 30 seconds of my movie were screwed up. So now i'm trying to re-edit the first 30 seconds. When i try to delete a clip, the rest of the clips following the deleted one, move over to this empty space. I do not want this to happen!!!!! I want the other clips to stay in the same place!!!! How do I delete a clip without having all the clips after it move over to the deleted space????

Welcome to the discussions.
In answer to your question, the clips behind the one you delete must move over to close the gap between the clips, an empty space left by the clip that you deleted. Otherwise, you would have a black/blank part in your movie.
You CAN purposely create a black clip if you wish, but probably you just want the movie to continue as you have created it, leaving out the deleted clip. If your movie is just video, it should work out to be the same once the deleted clip is gone.
However, if you have added some other audio, and not locked it to its corresponding video clip, the timing of the audio to the video will be off. Use the "Advanced" tool to select 'Lock audio clip at playhead' to avoid this. Once the audio is locked to a specific video clip, edits to other clips can be done without separating the audio and video. Occasionally, they still do get misaligned, so you do have to keep checking.
If you really want to keep all the other clips the same without doing anything else, switch to Timeline view, and move the trailing movie over from the clip you want to delete, making sure that the length you move is the same as the clip to be deleted. Then, delete the clip. iMovie will create a black clip in that space and the rest of your clips will remain untouched. However, as I said, the movie will be interupted by this black clip.

First of all, photo stream only saves up to 1000 photos and up to 30 days before they are deleted. The only thing you can do at this point is to sync the photos from the ipad to a computer and then sync to the iphone 5.

How can I get voice over clips to automatically go into its own folder in CS6

When I make a voice over clip while in PP CS6, the clip goes into the project folder. I want them to automatically go into the folder that corresponds to the clip I am doing the voice over for, but I can't seem to do this unless I manually move the clip over..

Thanks for your help here, but I made a mistake in presenting my problem.
I meant getting them to go into the selected bin, not folder, my mistake. Prior to recording the voice over, I highlight the bin I want the .wav file to go into and when finishing the recording, it goes into the project window, not into the selected bin. The only way I can get it into the bin is to manually move it there.
Do you know how to solve my problem by having the voice over go into the preselected bin?
