How to install 3rd party plugs-in

New to Aperture,  how  (Where do you install  plugs in ?

What is your Aperture version?
In Aperture 3 the plug-ins are installed in one of the Libraries:
For all users on your computer you install them in the system library:
     Your Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/
If you want them installed only for you
   Your Home Folder/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/
Depending on the type of the plug-in (edit, export) the go into subfolders "Edit", "Export". Usually the plug-in should come with an installer, that moves it to the correct folder.

how to install third party plug-ins from photoshop elements 11 to new 13 in my PC win7?
    Thank you.

    Hi ,
Your windows is 32 bit or 64 bit .
    If win 7 32 bit
Just copy the plugin from PSE 11 and paste it to PSE 13 plug-in folder.
    If win 7 64
PSE 11 and PSE 13 are installed as a 32 and 64 bit respectively , so you need to install plug-in again.
    Thanks,

  • How do you install 3rd party plug-in in Photoshop CC

Our fine customer service/tech support wouldn't help me with my question/problem because 3rd party plug-ins are not an Adobe product.... Silly, isn't it since all I want to know is how do you install "any" plug-ins into Adobe Photoshop CC. Can anyone with any sanity here offer a solution?
    Thanks.

It could be complex depending on your OS and user ID permissions.    Adobe Photoshop CC Mac version only supports new Mac with Intel 64bit processors, Photoshop CC windows supports  both 64 bit systems and 32 bit systems.  If you have a 64 bit system both the 32 bit and 64 bit version of Photoshop are installed so windows has both a 32 bit Plug-in Folder and a 64 Bit Plug-in Folder.  Prior to CC Photoshop Preference let you add you own Plug-in folder tree to Photoshop Plug-in folder tree.   I still install Plug-in that way however I have to add the link manually for adobe removed that option from its Preferences UI in Photoshop CC.  I always have more the one versions of Photoshop and all installed versions use the same Plug-in, Actions and Scripts that I add to Photoshop.   There is One exception.  The Way the Image Processor Pro plug-in script is coded expects it and it default XML file to be installed into Adobe's folder so I made and exception for it.   You user ID need to have permission to modify and add files to system folders if you want to install plug-ins into the folders that Adobe created for third party plug-ins to be installed into.
Adobe Photoshop CC installer creates a folder in  Photoshop version   ...\Plug-ins\... so on my Window 7 64 bit system there are two folders
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\Plug-ins\" and
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Plug-ins\"
All I add to these are the Adobe ScriptListener.8li Plug-in and a link to my  Plug-ins folder.

Is it possible to install 3rd party counters such as NeoWorks counters
in iWeb 06? I saw it mentioned in this forum but I am thinking it only
works in iWeb 08, or am I wrong, and if so, how can the html code be inserted?
I see an "insert" menu option Insert/choose....is this it? and what would I choose?
    thank you,

Ok I just downloaded BBedit. Now before I dive into the big manual can
you give me the quick take on where to past widget code? Do I insert and
the front before the original index code or at the end? If at the end, is it
    just before the </head.<body><body></html>
    or after that
I tried inserting at the very front and it appeared momentarily on the published document but was then quickly covered over by the original page.

  • Erase & Install : 3rd party plug-ins and aps?

    Hi,
My iMac is running pretty slow and unsteady these days for what should be a top end machine so I've decided at the next update or SnowLeopard I will go for a full Erase and install.
However, I've never gone this route before and have got no idea what to do about all the various 3rd party apps and plugins I've got that I don't have install CD's for as I purchased on line.eg:
    Superduper!
    Quicktime Pro
    Connect 360
    A better finder attribute
    iPhoto Manager
    Handbrake
    a few others
What do I do so I don't have to pay for installing these again?
Also, is there any other data/apps/accounts that I will lose that I should back up before hand that wouldn't just be in my User folders? eg iTunes accounts so that it recognises my iPhone etc
    Many thanks,
    Dan.

Almost all shareware is registered with a serial number; a few use license files and even fewer use some form of passworded download site. The latter are the only ones you really need to be concerned about.
If you haven't already done so, make a list of all your third party software. There are several programs specifically made for keeping track of software, serial numbers, etc - for years I just kept a list in a text file. There are also programs specially made for this task. What you want to keep track of is the name of the program, the company that created it and their URL, the serial number (if it has one) or the location and name of the license file (if it has one of those) or the URL for downloading it.
Keeping this information current is important and should you decide to do the erase and install will make it easy for you to re-install your software. It will also help you determine what (if any) files you'll need to burn to a CD or move to a flash drive before the upgrade. (Assuming you can find the vendor, most of them make it pretty easy to find out what your serial number is if you lose it. Of course this is no help if you can't figure out where you got the program from.)

  • Having Problems installing 3rd Party Plug-in

I cannot get WinMorph 3.01 to install into Premiere Pro CS5.5 on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
WinMorph installer want me to install its plug-in into the same folder as where the exe file is located: (C:/'Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5).
When the above is selected, WinMorph will install the plug-in into the Plug-ins folder there: (C:/'Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5/Plug-ins, but WinMorph will not work.
The Premiere Pro manual want me to install it in: (C:/Program Files/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS5.5/MediaCore).  However, WinMorph will not allow me to install it there or anywhere except where the exe file is located and that installs, but does not work.  Yes, I tried to copy the two plug-in files (knowing this will not work) into the correct location, but that would not work.  Idea's anyone?
Now what do I do?  Your help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tom
BTW: The program is lots of fun as a stand alone.  I just wished I could get it to work in Premiere Pro.

The plugins go here: Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins.
If you cloned your older system or archived the plugs, you can just drop them all back in that folder and be up and running in minutes. You need to authenticate with your admin password to initiate the copy process.
The only other thing is, you will have to enter the serial number for purchased plugs to activate them.
    Go for it.
    Doin' great btw. You too?

  • Installing 3rd Party Plug-ins?

Does anybody know if there is a way to install the Nik Collection in LR5 without instaling it in Photoshop? I asked Nik Software but they did not answer.
    Thanks.
    Catherine

Jim, if adobe required that the C drive always be used to install their software, they should put it on the requirements.  Otherwise, I expect it to work properly or their SDK should also state that plug-ins must always be in the OS drive.  Why is it too much to expect the program to look for plug-ins under the same drive as it lets you install the program to?
Buying new hardware is not necessary or helpful as I have already stated I found a workaround.  I posted this information in case anyone else needs to know what to do.
The other two suggestions also provide some additional options for others with the same issue.
I have an 80GB SSD.  I still have all of my CS5 programs installed there.  Honestly, I am not sure that I will end up continuing with CS6 as it really does not provide me with any additional features that I have found myself taking advantage of so far.  This and the fact that my plug-in's were not working, have kept me using CS5 programs mostly to date.
I do have my scratch disk elsewhere.  I have tried to have other extra content files loaded elsewhere as well.  But so far, I have not been able to use the goodies under programs like Encore either.  so perhaps these might need to end up going to the C drive after I get to the bottom of that problem.

  • How to install 3rd party effects to Premiere? novice.

Hi, I am a novice user, but I would like to use some external effects downloaded from red giant, although it's not matter from where because I don't where to put it so I can actually use it?
How can I access it from inside Premiere?  This must be so simple and yet I have been searching and searching for the answer without luck.
Please, I hope someone can help.

    Hi Mylenium,
Oops thought I had replied earlier but think I just added a comment!  a novice in more than PR !
...So I have installed as per the suppliers instructions so I now have a folder in my mac desktop download folder, but do I not have to do something with it or move it somewhere? Its not just appearing in my effects panel in PR?  Sorry I feel really stupid trying to get to the bottom of this.
    thank you

  • How to install 3rd party samples in EXS24

    Hi all,
The sample files are already in .exs format, and I have dropped them in:
    ~Library/Application Support/Logic/Sample Instruments
    with the existing EXS24 samples.
However, even though the newly added files appear in the EXS24 index, there are no sounds when I choose a file.
I get a "File not found error".
    What didn't I do?

    From the manual:
+In order to be visible within the EXS24 mkII Sampler Instruments menu, instruments must be stored in the Sampler Instruments sub-folder of any of the following folders:+
    +• ~/Library/Application Support/Logic: User-defined or edited instruments are stored here.+
    +• /Library/Application Support/Logic: Factory-supplied EXS instruments are installed here.+
+• /Applications/Logic 6 Series: EXS instruments of the Logic 6 Series are stored here.+
+• …/ProjectName: Logic Pro also searches for EXS Instruments in the project folder.+
+Note: You can store your sampler instruments in any folder on any of your computer’s hard drives. If you create an alias pointing to this folder within the Sampler Instruments folder (located in the folders listed above), the instruments are displayed in the Sampler Instruments menu.+
Once they're in the right place, EXS24 should find them if you ask it nicely to refresh the list.
If that isn't happening, ask me again…

  • How will FCPX implement 3rd Party Plug-ins?

From a Professional standpoint, the current version of FCPX is unusable on so many levels due to the absence of basic features that made FCP series the juggernaut it was until yesterday.
Here's my prediction of HOW Apple plans to distribute Plug-ins and Add-ons:
Apple is pushing towards a single, universal OS -- most likely a glorified iOS. And they're forcing FCPX users to upgrade to Lion so they have Appstore on their machines just to buy FCPX. Matter of fact, theyi're seeing more profit from Appstore/iTunes than their own computers! Ever since the success of the Appstore -- Apple/Jobs has been pushing to create products and services that will bring even more profit to the Appstore/iTunes business model.
Hence the release of the iPad and the development of iPad apps -- and the move to with OSX Lion.
The reason for this is so that Apple can take their flagship software like FCP --- and monetize all 3rd-party plug-ins and add-ons.
SO, once Apple has a consumer using FCPX, if they want Multi-cam or Import/Export features -- you will have to buy it as an add-on and sell all FCPX plug-ins and add-ons THROUGH THE APPSTORE.
Furthermore -- Apple will most likely force all 3rd-party developers to build plug-ins for FCPX as an APP -- and sell it THROUGH THE APPSTORE -- where Apple gets 30% commission -- stealing that money away from the developers, who in the past with FCP7, you were able to purchase directly from the developer.
SO -- FCPX isn't a revolution in editing....
FCPX is a revolution in MONETIZING FINAL CUT PRO PLUG-INS through the APPSTORE!

Apple is pushing towards a single, universal OS -- most likely a glorified iOS.
No they are not. OS X is a far more developed, powerful and mature OS than iOS. There is no sign that it is being some reduced in power in any way. There's a whole lot of fokks claiming it is simply because a few interface features from iOS are being added  - note added - to OS X.
And they're forcing FCPX users to upgrade to Lion so they have Appstore on their machines just to buy FCPX.
Well I hate the argue but that's factually untrue as well. No FCPX users are not forced to upgrade to Lion. Snow Leopard users can buy FCPX today, long before Lion is introduced.

  • How to PERMANENTLY get rid of 3rd party Plug-ins in Logic pro 9.

Hi, im trying to get rid of some 3rd party plug-ins on logic, but it only looks like i can disable them. (sweeping them under the rug isn't helpful) This is a problem because i have one version of a plug-in that doesn't work and im gonna get another of the same version (with expansions) to replace it so im concerned that the 2 versions will conflict with one another and i wont get the expansions i payed for. Anyone have a solution to permanently get rid of plug-ins? -Tim

The component files of the third party plugins are in:
    Local Drive\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\Components
You can make a backup of a given component (say in a desktop folder) and replace the component with other version etc.
You can use [Pacifist|http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/12743] as well to install/extract a component from a given installation pack etc.
Edit: Sorry Immo I duplicated your reply solutions hitting posting a few sec. later...

When I install OS 10.6 -Snow Leopard-will iMovie 6 still be compatible along with the 3rd party plug ins?
Also, Firefox says Apple no longer supports OS 10.5 as far as security goes.  Now what do I do?
I like to use both Safari and firefox.

iMovie 6 works just fine, even in 10.8. The plug-ins may not work in 10.7 and 10.8 as most use PPC code.
