How to install 64 bit Lightroom 2 on Win XP 64 bit

I read that the default for WinXP is 32 bit, and I really want to install the 64bit version on Win XP 64 bit (not Vista).
Is it possible to do this? If not then I am definitely not buying it.
If yes, any instructions on how to force the install of the Trial version to install 64 bit.
If not, I hope PShop CS4 is made available in 64bit for Win XP 64bit.
Thanks,
Dan

Thanks very much!
Just what I was looking for.
I will try this out with the Trial version right away.

  • How to Install 64-bit "Generic / Text Only" print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server?

    Hi All,
In a nutshell, I need to Install the 64-bit Generic / Text Only print driver on a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server’s “Generic / Text Only 32-bit print queue.
The problem is that there is no Driver-Disk to get the drivers. I’ve been able to isolate 14 files related to the 64 bit drivers from a Windows 7 x64 computer and copy them to a temp folder on the Windows 2003 x32 server. When I try to add the 64 bit driver
to the Windows 2003 x32 server,  it wants a *.inf file, which I don’t have and can’t find.
Because Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP, my client is replacing all of their Point-of-Sale Windows XP x32 systems with Windows 7 x64. They use Terminal Services (Remote Desktop) to connect to a Windows 2003 x32 server to use the POS system. The
POS software redirects LPT1 back to the local Generic / Text Only printer. This works great for XP x32.
When we use the Terminal Services POS software on the new Windows 7 x64 system, none of the labels print out because it’s redirected in 32-bit back to the local Windows 7 x64 Generic / Text Only 64-bit printer.
This will be a huge issue for me if I can’t get this to work.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help! -Rob

  • I have windows 7 32-bit in my mac pro but i want to install 64-bit. How can install 64-bit on my existing 32-bit using bootcamp?

I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my existing windows 7 32-bit. Can someone guide me with step by step process on how to install without losing data from windows?

Unfortunately, you can't. Windows has never, ever been able to install an upgrade, or even the same version over itself without essentially destroying the drive.
Make absolutely sure all of your personal data is backed up, first.
When you install Win 64 from the DVD over an existing installation, it gives you two choices, both of which stink. One simply replaces all of the standard directories with all new data, fully erasing all third party apps you've installed and all of your settings. The second choice isn't any better. It moves all of the standard directories into a folder named Old Data (or something like that). Which again takes all of your third party software with it, along with your personal settings.
No matter which lousy choice you make, you have to reinstall all of your third party apps and set everything up again as if it were a new computer. The only thing that's different from a brand new computer is that your pictures and other such data should still be in your user folder. But everything else will be broken.

  • How to install 64-bit version on 64-bit OS

I am trying to install Labview 2011 SP1 Evaluation on Windows 7 64-bit OS. When I go to choose the isntallation directory it automaticaly points me to the 32-bit compaibility folder "Program Files (x86)". I believe this isntall the 32-bit version of Labview. I want to install the 64-bit version. How can I do this?

I had a 64 bit and a 32 bit version installed after the first version because there were some tools that I wanted to install that would not install on the 64 bit version.  There seem to be 2 different program file directories now: Program Files and Program Files (x86) so I'm assuming that they are for the two different versions of LabVIEW.  In the Program Files / National Instruments / LabVIEW 2011 directory there is a LabVIEW.exe file, but in the similar (x86) directory there is no LabVIEW.exe file.  It seems like there is no 64 bit LabVIEW version still installed in this computer. When I downloaded the CAN device drivers and installed the package, the sub VIs did not show up in the tool bar when I ran LabVIEW. However, when I look in the (x86) version files I see the CAN folder installed in the 64 bit program files directory!  Should I uninstall the current version and reinstall the 64 bit verson to fix this CAN problem, or is there another way to fix this
You got it mixed up here. Microsoft decided that Program Files is always meant to mean the native version, which means that for Windows 64 bit, any 64 Bit applications get installed there. Program Files (x86) is for 32 Bit applications that will run inside the Win32 subsystem in Win64. Most NI Toolkit and driver installers only install into 32 Bit. So if you use LabVIEW 64 Bit you will usually have to copy the files from the Program Files (x86) directory into the according Program Files directory, making sure you maintain the same hierarchy.

  • How to install 32-bit libraries on Oracle VM Server (3.2.6)?

    Hi all,
I need to install some packages on our Oracle VM server. But they require 32-bit libraries (like pam-devel.i868). I tried "yum install pam-devel.i686", and got message
    "No package pam-devel.i686 available.
    Nothing to do".
    How can I fix that?
    Thanks a lot!

Actually none! Who ever demands to install any additional software on a bare-metal hypervisor  - especially any anti-virus software which hooks into a lot of system function, destabalizing the core of the hypervisor. The issue is, there is nothing to run in the dom0 - the control domain of the hypervisor, except the software needed. As of such, the threat potential is extremely low. I'd bet that no one would request you to install any anti-virus software on a ESXi host… which is basically the same thing. Regardless, if you're talking about OVS, VMWare or Citrix XenServer.
So, do you have Oracle Support for your OVM? If yes installing any 3rd party software onto the OVS will break that! If not, since you may have decided, that you wouldn't need it, go ahead - but no one will be able to help you, should you run into any issue with your OVS.

  • How to install Oracle RAC using 11gR2 on Win 7 32 bit from scratch?

    Hiii,
    I am a fresher and I have a win 7 system 32 bit with oracle 11gR2.
I want to install RAC using two or more servers but I dont know too much about it.
I tried to search on google but all they are giving information in pieces(for win 7) or about Linux(Please tell me why its all Linux everywhere not windows).
Please let me know if there any site where I can find step by step installation from scratch.
What are basic requirements(/software if needed).
    Thank you.

    Hi,
First of all forget about Windows!! Oracle is mainly designed for Linux systems. Oracle runs as real multi-process on Linux machines whereas on Windows it runs as a single process with multi-thread.
Memory usage - huge pages, single CPU run queue, dnfs, storage systems... etc. lots of concepts exists.
Besides Windows is one of the most poorly designed operating systems, you should use it only to watch cute kitten movies on youtube... Believe me, you wouldn't want to learn Oracle on Windows...
So, install virtualbox and then setup Oracle Enterprise Linux on it as a first step... By the way you have to deal with DNS server for release 11.X, RAC, you may start with 10g for now.
ORACLE-BASE has all the installation steps explained detailly, search for "oracle base rac install" on google.
I also explained on my blog, but it is a little bit advanced installation using ZFS storage simulator. DNS server installation is also explained:  http://ilkertaysi.com/2013/11/11/oracle-rac-installation-with-zfs-storage/

  • How to install 32-bit driver as Additional Driver on Win 7 x64

I have an x64 Win 7 machine with an HP4315 attached via USB. I have a few XP machines that need to access the printer on the X64 machine.
When I "Add printer" and reference the share name on the x64 machine, it attempts to download a driver, which fails giving me an "access denied" error.  This happens even when I had installed the drivers onto the x32 machine as if the printer were locally attached.
Ive seen a workaround that may solve the immediate problem here http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Unable-to-install-XP-drivers-for-Deskje...
I will try this, but its not the right long term solution as these XP machines will be replaced by Win 7 x32 machines and I may not be around to laboriously apply the workaround again.
Windows 7 x64 provides for this.  I right click the printer on the x64 machine, then  "printer properties" (not "properties"), Sharing and I then get the option to install an x86 driver solely for downloading to x32(x86) machines which want to access the printer. It asks for the location of a folder containing the .inf file for this printer.
Great!  But where on earth do I find a folder that contains the 32-bit .inf file associated with the HP4315 printer?
I've downloaded the setup file from HP and executed it on the x32 machine running XP, thinking I'd copy the relevant files  and offer them to the x64 machine. But where are the files? What is the .inf file called? Are there any other files needed?
Ive seen a lot of people struggling with this and no solutions other than the workaround mentioned above.  It would be great if a "proper" method could be described.

    Hello colinobj,
I have looked at the link that you have provided that gives the steps to resolve the installation issue.
Just so you are aware, this is the solution to the issue at hand.  Seeing that XP is on its way of being not supported, this is the best solution that Bob_Headrick has provided.

  • How to install plugins in Lightroom

I've searched the forum but could not find a correct answer to this.
I'm running LR 2.3 and Vista.
I've tried using the Plug-in Manager in  Lightroom by going to file tab. When going to the location where I un-zipped the plugins, I always get the same result: "An error occurred while attempting to load this plug-in"
I've also tried some other solutions found in this forum, like createing a directory called "Lightroom Plugins" in the Picture folder same results.
Tried installing them in the module folder under ProgramFiles\Adobe\Lightroom 2.3
Just as an fyi I have tried the following:
    ADB_Filmtypes
    Dojo_Camera_Tools
    and
    x=image+kit

I've only looked at Dojo, but those are Presets, not Plugins.
In Preferences, Click the Presets Tab. Next click the button 'Show Lightroom Presets Folder'.
Open the folder Develop Presets in the window that opens. Drop your Presets there and restart Lightroom.

    Hi,
I'd suggest to use the Virtual box(Free download from Oracle) and use the steps mentioned in the link.. for RAC Setup for your practice

  • How to install Arch for dual-boot with Win 7 (on 2 hard drives)?

    Hello,
the TLDR first: how exactly should I proceed when setting up GRUB for 2 hard drives to dual-boot Arch (64 bit)and Win 7 (64 bit)?
Long version: So, I have the following hard drive & partition layout:
On my first hard drive (250 GB big) I have: Win 7 64 bit, all the programs for Windows and of course the EFI partition
My second hard drive is 1 TB big and formatted in NTFS and it only contains data. It has 2 partitions, one is about 750 GB big and used for simple storage.
Sidenote 1: sometimes my disk management (Windows' own gparted) shows either the little disk or the big one as disk 0. Don't know what exactly this means, but I have never ever experienced any problems whatsoever during use.
Sidenote 2: the UEFI motherboard (ASRock H67M) cannot boot into Legacy mode.
I want to install Arch on a ~200 GB partition on the second hard drive (the one with 1 TB). (click here if you want to see a screenshot) I am posting this because I am confused with how exactly I should deal with the whole "2 hdds & UEFI" thing.
So how exactly should I proceed when setting up GRUB for this setup?
For partitioning I suppose I would have to use fdisk or cgdisk. I used cgdisk before and found it to be straightforward. Then, because I have experienced my fair share of problems with rEFInd, I'd like to use GRUB.

First thing you should do is become familiar with your motherboard.
    http://www.asrock.com/mb/manual.asp?Model=H67M
This will probably help you out in understanding the sidenote 1 thingie (hdd's on sata3 and/or sata2 connectors)
As on sidenote 2, according to the manual it seems to be possible to boot legacy mode,  see Storage Configuration.
