  • Cannot install Adobe Air on Android phone

I cannot install Adobe AIR on my Android phone (v. 2.2.1)
I search for "Adobe AIR" in the market and the app is not found.
So, I downloaded an app that was build to run in AIR and when I launch it, I get an alert "This application requires Adobe AIR.  Install AIR now?"  I click Install and I get an alert "The requested item could not be found."
Then I installed the Amazon store and purchased (for free) Adobe Air, but it too fails on install.
I can't believe this is an issue w/ my phone.
Anyone know what the issue could be?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I found requirements for Flash and Air on Android from following Sites:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/air/systemreqs/#mobile
    Android devices
VGA: Dedicated Cortex A8 (ARMv7) 550MHz App Processor with Neon for A8 only; Hardware Vector FPU
WVGA: Dedicated Cortex A8 (ARMv7) 800MHz App Processor; Hardware Vector FPU
    Google Android™ 2.2 or later
    256MB of RAM

    VGA
    WVGA
    WSVGA (1024x600)

    Hardware requirements
Dedicated Cortex A8 (ARMv7) 550MHz App Processor with Neon for A8 only

    Dedicated Cortex A8 (ARMv7) 800MHz App Processor

Dedicated Cortex A8 1000Mhz App Processor
    Hardware Vector FPU
    Dual-Core Cortex A8 1000Mhz App Processor
    Hardware Vector FPU
    Operating system
    Android™ 2.2*
If I am getting it correctly, both requires same ARM version, and Hardware Vector FPU.
But I have found many devices, where Adobe Flash is installed and running. (If market does not show Adobe Flash, device manufacturer provides flash apk which works)
But can not install Adobe Air. Market does not show Adobe Air.
Is there any way to sort this out?
I get feeling that as Flash is more popular software, people have got patched version for the same. But for Air, it does not exist.
    Thanks

    Chris,
Your suggestion to use Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to solve my problem worked!  Many thanks for the suggestion.
For anyone who wants to use Windows Installer CleanUp Utility:  Microsoft no longer supports this utility and you will no longer be able to download it from their site.  I found a copy of it at:
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.sh tml
Please note that after you install it, you will have to go find it in Start -> All Programs (Windows XP), launch it, select Adobe AIR, and click the Remove button.

  • Android - must install adobe air?

Hi, in the previous version of AIR - in order to run AIR apps on android you had to install Adobe AIR from the market, separately, which sucked
is this still the case in 2.6? anyone found a way to bundle your apk with the air so the user doesnt need to install 2 things?
this is really non professional if u ask me

Well I understand people’s complaints, one of the most popular Android phones HTC Desire has 576MB internal space when in effect you only have around 150MB to play with. And if cache from all of your apps is stored on that memory and there are many apps that can't be moved on a SD card then you run out of memory very quickly. Adobe AIR is 16.98 MB and Flash Player is 12MB and both for obvious reasons can't be moved on SD card... I own Desire and I can see out of space message very often.
So at least we as developers need to remember to leave the users with option to install on SD - that will also increase chances that if the users are bored with our application they won't remove it because it takes their precious space but they will move it on SD card because there is plenty of space there.
Just to remind how to make an AIR app moveble on SD: add <manifest android:installLocation="auto"> to your <android><manifest additions>.

  • How do I install Adobe Air on a server?

    I am using RH8 and Windows 7.
I am trying to make Browser Based Air files work on a server.
I was told that I need to install Adobe Air on the server. How do I do that.
IT made my pc into a server. I went to the Adobe Air download site and tried to install it on the server but it only let me install it on my pc. How do I install it on the server? Also, where on the server do I install it?
My pc is configured so the server is lovejoyp/WebTest. Do I install Adobe Air in a certain folder?
    Any help is gratefully appreciated.
    Pat

You are mixing the types of AIR help.
Locally installed AIR help requires the AIR runtime to be installed on the users PC.
Browser based AIR help does not require that and the runtime is not intended to be installed on a server.
This is all described in the AIR pages on my site. I think you need to read those again and maybe with your IT people.

  • How to install adobe digital editions on android device (zt pad)

how to install adobe digital editions on android device (zt pad)

I don't think ADE will itself run on Android.
You need to install an app such as Bluefire (free) which supports DRM epub books.
Make sure you authorise it with the same AdobeID you use on the PC or to buy books.
You can get books on the PC with ADE, download them, 'sideload' the .epub files to the tablet using a file manager such as Windows Explorer, and read them on Bluefire.
For library books, the Overdrive app (free) should allow you to borrow, doanload and read books with no need for a PC or ADE.

I am able to run flash on my Kindle Fire HD. It was actually really easy. You have to use a process called sideloading. You will need to sideload Dolphin Browser and Adobe Flash Player on your Kindle Fire. The information is all over the web. • LG MAXIMO ONE can't install Adobe Air

    Hi
Actually my problem is simple. I can't install Adobe Air Runtime in my device because I can't find it.
I've search for Air Apps in the Market and install a few. In the opening screen they all ask to install Adobe Air, when I search it just isn't found.
Is this my phone problem or the Adobe Air runtime is out of the market?
I am using Mac OSX Leopard. any tips on how to install it?
    Thanks for any tip.

    HI
I also can't find AIR in the marjet using HTS wildfire. This device comes with Android 2.1 and the 2.2.1 update was available which i did the update.
After that I tryed to find the Air in the Market and also can't find it.
Because this device comes also with flash player I thought that it would be able to run Air.
Is there any possibility to install air in this thing?
    Thanks

  • Adobe AIR for android, what is going on ?

    Hello!
Few days ago i decided to try develop adobe air for android.
Updated my phone to android 2.2 installed Android SDK , Adobe AIR SDK.
Now there are few tutorials out there how to set up Air ap for android.
They all state that u have to install Runtime_Device_Froyo_***********.apk
You can supposidly download it from adobe pre-release, i cant get in there because they don`t let new members to register ?!?!?!
I searched the entire google for 3h in every possible way to find Adobe Air setup for android, but its like it never existed. There are few disabled rapidshare and megadownload links, it is mentioned in a lot of places but you just cant find it anywhere.
How can i setup Adobe AIR for my Android phone ?

Can you please give directions where can i clear that cash.
Anyway i don`t think its the case, because this is first time i hooked phone to internet, and first time i launched Android app store.
    Edit:
I went to https://market.android.com and there is Adobe air app. But when i try to download it says that my device doesn't support it (Samsung Galaxy GT-I5500) By default it comes with android 2.1 and doesn't support Adobe air, but i upgraded firmware to 2.2.
Maybe that is the reason it doesn't show me Adobe AIR in app store - based on my phone, not my Android version ?

  • Can't install Adobe Air on Mac OS 10.5.6

    Hello all,
I cannot, for the life of me, get Adobe AIR to install on my
Mac Pro. Whenever I open the installer I get this message:
    quote:
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation
may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your
    administrator.
I AM, in fact, the administrator of this computer and I'm
logged into said account, but I continue to get this error. I made
sure to repair my permissions, but of course that proved nothing.
Can anyone provide some insight into this? I don't know how to get
the installer to log and/or where to find these logs, so help with
    that would be great too.
    Thanks!
    Tyler

The problem is that when the dialog window pops up (so that the AIR Installer can proceed) asking for my password (my user account is already filled in), my keyboard just drops dead!
The cursor is on the password textbox but whatever I do (type), nothing happens.
So I click on the Finder Spotlight Search box and I can type. I click back on the user/password dialog, and again I can't type. Cursor is there, blinking, but nothing gets "typed". It's just dead.
So I figure, ok, I'll type my password on Finder's Spotlight searchbox, copy it, and paste it on the user/password dialog. Doesn't work.
When I call it a night, and exit the AIR Installer, my Mac seems to be unresponsive. I have no remedy but to press and hold the Power button. Nothing works. Can't shut down using the menu, etc. Finder just seems to drop dead. Dock is also unresponsive. I'm like WTF!!???
There is nothing wrong with my iMac, since I can run chunky apps like Logic Pro 9.1.1, Final Cut Pro, Propellerhead Reason, Cinema 4D, etc. no problem. I have all the latest drivers and updates.
I've scanned all drives using Disk Utility, etc. All is ok.
But when I launch the AIR Installer, all hell breaks loose.
    I can't figure it out...
I have a 2008 24" Alum iMac, 2.8GHz Core2Duo, 4Gb RAM, 320Gb + 1Tb HDDs, ATI video, stock keyboard and mouse, TC Konnekt 6 Firewire audio interface, Fatar Studiologic VMK-188Plus Master MIDI controller keyboard via USB. Nothing strange or weird here... Everything works like a charm. Nice and snappy.
I love my Mac.... except when I run AIR Installer! (Quick! Where did I leave the shot-gun??)

  • I cannot install Adobe Air on vista

I couldn't install the latest upgrade, so i uninstalled Adobe Air and tried to reinstall, but similar to other people in this forum i get the message 'an error occurred while installing Adobe Air. Installation may not be allowed by your administartor. Please contact your administrator.'
I've tried the other solutions suggested in other threads, and the advice on the troubleshoot AIR installation page,  to no avail.
Does anyone have any other suggestions how to solve this problem?

    Hello,
I'm sorry you're running into installation issues with AIR.  Microsoft has just released a new utility that can help resolve installation problems.  Would you mind giving this a try and let us know how it works for you?  When running the Fix it, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe AIR from your system.  Once finished, download the latest version of AIR and install again.
Microsoft Install and Uninstall Fix It
If you still encounter problems, we'll need to review the AIR installer log to better diagnose the issue.  Please post back with the log contents.  You can find instructions for finding these logs here:
    AIR Installer Log Instructions
    Thanks,
    Chris
