  • How to install Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 on Ubuntu 12.10 ?

    Hey,
i have a student and teacher edition of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium and i recently switched to ubuntu ,
is it possible to use it on this OS ? Because i keep getting errors when trying to install through wine from cdrom.
Would be happy about some help

You will have better luck asking this on a Linux forum. Most creative professionals using Adobe apps simply don't care for Linux and even trying would considered as a stroke of madness by most of them (I certainly do), so the basis of knowledgeable people is thinner than a layer of carbon nanotubes...

  • Can I re-install Adobe Creative Suite from an external hard drive?

After an appointment in the Genius Bar I have decided to have my mac's hard drive completely wiped. I had installed Mavericks and it caused a lot of my Adobe programs to stop working probably, the girl in the mac store said this was because the Adobe Master Collection CS4 is incompatible with Mavericks. So I'm having to take my Mac in to be completely wiped so that Lion can be reinstalled. I have ran time machine on an external hard drive to back up all my files, including my Adobe master collection. When I get back Mac back, can I reinstall my Adobe programs just from my external hard drive? If so, how do I do this?

You can try with migration assistant.. but I think you would be much better doing install from original disks. You can recover your working files etc..
Alot will depend on what you have done with Time Machine since you upgraded to Mavericks. If you did not do any TM backups you could have simply restored the computer from TM.

  • Trouble Installing Adobe Creative Suite

    Hi,
Im trying to install Adobe Creative Suite from 2 disc images. It gets to the end of its install run and all the program folders appear in my applications. But when i try and double click on any of the program icons ie. Photoshop CS it doesnt start up. It kinda looks like it is starting up (bouncing icon in the menu bar) but then it just stops and nothing happens.
Ive had this before with other disc image installers.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Sorry, don't believe you. We've had all sorts here ask point blank about installing software they've downloaded. If you truly did purchase the product, then either contact Adobe to get a replacement set of disks, or talk to your insurance company about a claim for the loss.

  • Im changing my PC to a new one, how can I transfer Adobe Creative Suit from my old PC to my new PC?

Im changing my PC to a new one, how can I transfer Adobe Creative Suit from my old PC to my new PC? I bought it online, so the serial is on my profile.

You need to install the software on the new machine the same way you installed it on the old machine.  You are allowed to have two activated installations if you would like to retain the original installation as a backup.  If not, then you should deactivate it (Help -> Deactivate in any program),
If you have a download link in your account online you can use that or you can download thru the page linked below...

  • How do I find out and manage which devices I installed Adobe Creative Suite on?

I need to activate Adobe Creative Suite on a second computer, but a window comes up saying that I already have installed Creative Suite on a maximumo of 2 computers. I know that I can only download on 2 computers, but I have no idea where I downloaded it the second time. I need to find that device and deactivate it so that I can use my real 2nd computer.
So, how do I find out and manage which devices I installed Adobe Creative Suite on?
And if I deactivate it, can I activate my 2nd computer?

Yes the End User License Agreement is the same for the Student and Teacher edition.  You can find more details at http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/#desktop.

  • INSTALLING Adobe creative suite 3 Design Premium JAVA ERROR

Hi people, I'am having a problem installing Adobe creative suite cs3 on my iMac, when the dmg is loaded as the first sys check , installer give an error saying : "Java Script Alert - Critical errors were found in the setup - Imcompatible payloads already installed. Please see the Setup log file for details."
I've recently installed Processing, and needed to install Java too. I think I've installed Java sun SE. (actually I'm a Mac noob lol)
So , I think that I've just to clean all the old java sys that I installed and reinstall a compatible version of Java, right??? But I don't know How to do that actually!
Can any one help me please
    Thnks a lot
    Bella

    Hello Bellawood,
This Java script Error problem, if you installed CS3, AI, PS or ID or any application already have in system or you uninstalled it, and installing again... this Java Script Error message will come.
This guide line is for Mac OS X only not for tested on Window system.
There are 2 ways to install again CS3.
1: format your system and install CS3 or remove all adobe folder your your system and install.
2: If you already installed any CS3 application and installing any other and you are getting Java Script Error message... do this, in hard disk/library/application support/adobe/... remove caps and backup folders from there and keep in safe place and install your application... hope it will install. after installing run that application... and it will run, and if you will try to run already installed application.... it will not... because you removed that application backup and caps file from adobe folder. Keep backup and caps folder in safe place and replace backup and caps folders with earlier folder which you saved in safe place. and repeat this process.
I know this is little tricky... and complicated. Better is remove all adobe files and folders from your system and install CS3 again.
    regards.

  • Cannot install Adobe Creative Suite 3

Would need some more tips about how to get Adobe Creative Suite 3 design standard to at all install.
The machines I want to install onto are PPC G5s dual core with 4 GB of RAM and Mac OS X 10.4.10 (we do not want 10.4.11 as we need Safari 2.0.4 to remain for some in-house apps which do not work in later Safari). Machines already have CS2 without Version Cue and without Bridge on them and those are supposed to remain there. We have corporate multi-user licenses for both CS2 and CS3 packages.
When I insert the CS3 standard design package DVD in the machines where I want to install, it goes through the motions of the first stage of opening the installer but when it comes to finding and showing the alternatives possible to install, it comes no further. It hangs and remains hanging and not responding. No error message.
It does that on any of those PPC G5s I've tried on so it it is not just one machine. Have checked DVD for dust and scratches but nothing serious there. Same DVD works as supposed to in any Intel MacBook or Mac Book pro.
Am of course logged in as an admin user with full privileges. No other applications were active at the time. Harddisks are formatted as HFS+ journaled.
I have saved knowledge base document with ID kb400584 to go through all parts of it next week when in the office again. It is about Troubleshoot installation problems (Adobe Creative Suite 3.x on Mac OS X).
What I've done so far is:
    - try in a new user - doesn't work either, same problem.
    - activated and logged in as Root user on machine and tried to install from that - doesn't work either, same problem.
    - checked fonts - no problem fonts
    - checked and repaired permissions - doesn't help one bit
    - ran the standalone Mac OS X 10.4.10 combo updater - doesn't help (and no we do not want 10.4.11 on those machines)
    - ran installer with and without any Wacoms, scanners etc attached - no difference (the users that need CS3 installed, only need Illustrator and Photoshop, they are the users who do our original artwork, drawings and such for the newspaper where I work so they do have Wacoms and scanners)
    - tried on other machines with same installations and applications - same problem
    What I have not done:
    - started in safe mode (forgot about that until came home and read the above mentioned knowledge base document)
    - started without network connected
    - installed from the desktop
    - checked firewall settings (I understand those can have an impact).
Have also not done the following yet:
    - Use the Console utility to identify software conflicts.
    - Use the Process Viewer to identify and quit processes that may be using large amounts of system resources.
Note that this is NOT a Leopard problem, it is 10.4.10 we are talking about and PPC machines. Note to that re-doing the machines from scratch is not an option as they are carefully set up for the environment those users work in both when it comes to applications and permissions and fonts and we have a couple of hundred machines set up the very same way. There are no problems with CS2 and there never has been any beta or try-outs of CS3 Adobe apps on them either.
If those actions I didn't do yet will help I will report back about it next week some time.
Meanwhile I would be grateful for any tips I could try that could lead to a successful installation.

Well. Continuation of the struggle to install..
Today on a third machine, same configuration but slightly newer PPC G5 dual something (don't have the specs here at home).
    I did run the CS3Cleanscript.
1st twice in level one. No deal. Still uanble to install.
Then twice in level two. No deal. Still unable to install.
Then once in level three which killed the CS2 apps. Removed manually all CS2 apps and whatever belongs to them (I know where all that stuff is). Did a reinstall from scratch from original media of CS2 Premium (without Version Cue and GoLive) plus all updates. Refrained from putting in all our custom plug-ins and also to remove Stock Photos and fonts which we usually do. Restarted machine. Did a systemupdate of 10.4.10 with the combo-updater, still to 10.4.10, to be sure to have the right system parts in there. Restarted. Tried to install CS3 again. No deal. Ran the CS3Cleanscript level 2 again.
Ran out of time as had an appointment. That's where it presently stands: still unable to install.
Machines run no font management application (FontBook is present of course). Fonts are healthy and not damaged. Permissions are fine. Installing in new user with admin rights does not work. Installing as root does not work. Installing in safe mode and having turned off twain and wacom drives via the Activity Monitor has no effect.
Note: all CS2 apps run just fine and did too before reinstallation of them after killing them with cs3cleanscript.
Anything else to look for that you are aware of? I am starting to believe that it must have something to do with our special-tweaked systems and/or something else on these machines that gets in the way.
The CS3 standard multi-user package used is the Swedish version. I've installed that without any problem on an Intel MacPro used for video editing (yes we do that kind of thing as well in addition to the printed paper and the web). That machine did not have any of our standard system-setups though which is probably why it worked. Same application package also works without problem in MacBooks and MacBook Pros. It's just the PPC G5s for editing that has this problem. So apparently something is hiding there that causes the problem.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
I know what the next step is: To erase machine and install a clean Tiger-system from scratch. Then install first CS2 plus updates. Then try again with CS3. If that works it's the system itself that is the next thing to dissicate. Sigh.

  • I'm trying to install Adobe Creative Suit 6 Deisign and Web Premium.

Hi, I'm trying to install Adobe Creative Suit 6 Deisign and Web Premium. It is the Sudent and Teacher Licensing. I was able to get my serial numbers but when I loaded the disc into my Macbook, nothing is popping up for further direction of installation. How should I proceed to install the software?

You can download the installation files and use the serial number from the disc to activate.

  • Problem installing Adobe Creative Suite 4

I am trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium. I enter the serial number at the back of the DVD case and that works fine, but then I reach a screen called Upgrade Check. There, I select what I had before (Macromedia 8), and enter my Upgrade key starting with DWD800-02416 ...
But it tells me that my serial number doesn't match the product...am I not supposed to enter the Macromedia key 8 license key there? What am I doing wrong? And most importantly, can you help?

There are many different upgrade packages for CS 4. It may be that you purchased the wrong upgrade package. For example, the upgrade package from CS 1 to CS 4 won't work if you purchased purchased Photoshop CS 3. The upgrade DVD from Photoshop CS 3 won't work if you had purchased the CS 3 Design Suite. Each upgrade package/dvd is specifically designed for the programs you had previously purchased.

  • Installing Adobe Creative Suite 4 & Safari 4 Incompatibility

I have been having a miserable time trying to install Adobe Creative Suite (CS) 4 on my iMac G5 (OS 10.4.11).
I have the CS Master Collection and some of the applications have system requirements beyond the capability of my machine. Nevertheless, a custom install is allowed for the applications I meet requirements on.
    The problem is as follows:
In order for me to run the custom installation, I have to get past an installer alert that tells me all of the requirements are not met and do I want to continue. With Safari 4 installed, however, the installer alert window comes up blank, i.e., no message and no options to quit or continue.
Adobe's solution is to uninstall Safari 4 and to reinstall Safari 3.2.1. See http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/497/cpsid_49755.html. In theory, this would allow me to see the installer alert and continue.
Using Amnesia I uninstalled Safari 4 (or so I thought). Then I downloaded Safari 3.2.1 and tried to install it, at which point the installer told me that a newer version of Safari was installed on my hard drive (presumably residuals of Safari 4). So, I tried to use Pacifist and Hunter Bridewell's instructions (See Apple Discussion Topic : Safari 4.0 (5530.17) cannot uninstall ) to load 3.2.1 in place of or in parallel to 4, which is in theory no longer on my hard drive. I can then load the version 3.2.1 application of Safari and it runs. The problem is that the CS4 installation keeps hanging up, and I think it's due to some residual configuration, root, etc. file that is still present related to Safari 4.
Does anyone have any thoughts? According to Adobe, there's supposedly a patch to solve all of this on the Apple site, but I can't find it anywhere in the Apple downloads or any reference to it in the Discussion Topics.
    Anybody have any thoughts?

Never heard of a patch from Apple for this problem. If Adobe talked about a patch they would have supplies an URL to the patch. To be honest it sounds like an Adobe problem and not an Apple problem.
The URL you posted said to install under a safe boot. Have you tried that?
Even tho you are installing parts of the suite that your computer complies to the system requirements for... You better check Adobe on this... There's no reason to further to muck your computer until you talk to Adobe.

  • How to uninstall Adobe Creative Suite 2

    Hello,
One of our computer broke at the office.
My collegua tried to install Adobe Creative Suite 2 on the new computer in June.
    It didn't work.
Today I contacted the online assistance to install the program. The assistance explained me how to downloaded the 3 discs.
I did it but when I tried to open them when downloaded it asked me if I wanted to install/uninstall/delete it and then ask me to put the disc1 and didn't recognise the disc.
I understood that the last version downloaded on your website doesn't require any CD.
I tried to uninstall the old version but it didn't work.
Can you explain how to uninstall the old version to be able to open the new one?
    Thank you in advance.

do you an old version installed now?
if yes, what os?  if windows, use start>control panel>uninstall programs>uninstall the one of the cs2 programs and select all.
