How to install Adobe DNG Recover Edge plug-in?

I downloaded the Adobe DNG Recover Edge plug-in for Lightroom, but it includes no installation instructions! Does anybody know?
Find the plug-in here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroomplugins/

Hi Mike,
Here are the steps to install:
Double-click the .zip file and extract  the contents to a location of your choice
Launch Lightroom 4.x (these plug-ins require Lightroom 4.0 or higher)
Click File > Plug-in Manager
Click 'Add'
Browse to the files that were extracted from the .zip in Step 1, and locate the plug-in to install
Click 'Add Plug-in'
Click 'Done' to close the Plug-in Manager
Your Lightroom plug-in should now be installed!
Let me know if you have any problems.
Regards,
Jeff

  • Can't install Adobe DNG Recover Edge plug-in (Info.lua: bad header in precompiled chunk)

    Hello,
I tried to install the Adobe DNG Recover Edge plug-in in Lightroom 4.3.
After adding it in the plug-in manager I get the error:
Info.lua: bad header in precompiled chunk
Can someone help me with this or had anyone the same issue?
    Martin

I just got the exact same problem with a brand new installation of LR 4.4.  Has anyone got a solution to this. It's very frustrating to see that this problem has been around and apparently not addressed for so long.

  • Errors using Lightroom DNG Recover Edge plug-in

I'm trying the new Adobe Labs' DNG Recover Edge plug-in with Lightroom 4.2, but I'm having troubles on Canon 5D Mark II and Mark III images.
    The plug-in:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/lightroomplugins.html
    http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/lightroomplugins/lightroomplugins_dngre_docs.pdf
When I apply it to an uncropped image, I often get this error message: "An internal error has occurred. ?:0: attempt to compare nil with number" When I get this message, Also, after that, I have to cancel the process manually or else it apparently runs indefinitely with no result.
I got that error message all but one time that to use the plug-in on my first attempt to get this working.
One exception was when it appeared to work, creating a new DNG with the suffix "_full" on the filename. However, it only increased the DNG size by a vanishingly small amount. Lightroom still reports its size as the same, 5760x3840 pixels in the frame around the image in the Library and in the overlaid info text (hit "I" to reveal). The metadata panel shows the larger 5796x3870 size.
After that, the plug-in appeared to work, but it created an image that was labeled "2 of 2," with a dark frame around it in the Library module. However, I couldn't find 1 of 2.
Then I quit and restarted Lightroom, and both of the images appeared, grouped as a stacked image. Comparing the two images, though, there was no difference, though the metadata panel said the one with the recovered edges should have more pixels.
Anybody else seeing these errors? They seemed to be less of an issue after my restart of Lightroom but the plug-in still seems to be misbehaving in some ways.

Regarding the plug-in problems, I also haven't been able to reproduce it since the initial failure. This includes trying it with the initial images for which the plug-in didn't work; I suspect the problem wasn't with the specific images but with some other issue about Lightroom's state. Lightroom seemed to be working OK aside from the plug-in issue. I first used the plug-in immediately after installing it, with no Lightroom restart.
Regarding the cropping issue, it finally occurred to me that the "full" DNG created with the plug-in was cropped. So yes, once I reset the crop, I got the full 5796x3870 view. It was an expectations management issue for me -- I'd expected to see the full uncropped version as soon as I created the full DNG. This is an RTFM failing on my part, since the documentation (I now see) says, "This results in new DNG images (automatically imported) where clearing the crop will give you the full image area..." I'm sure you thought about this software behavior carefully (for example in situations where somebody had cropped and rotated an image already before creating the full DNG), but FWIW I expected to see the full view when I created the full DNG. (As an aside, at least to me, the phrase "a.k.a., active area, stage 3 image area" in the documentation doesn't help to explain anything.)
Regarding the user crop with the 5D3, yes, again a case of RTFM failure. You do need to change "add cropping info" to on.
    Thanks for your responses.

  • How to install Adobe Application Manager?

How to install Adobe Application Manager? I downloaded it, but can't install.
Just purchased the CC for photographers.  Have been using Photoshop since version 3.
I have been studying your support docs for several days and have no business messing around with something called, .gz files and installation logs. Totally unsuccessful "Updating" my CS6 or CS6 bridge or Extension Manager or the Adobe Support Advisor by the CC Desktop.
Have no Photoshop CS6 because I followed your CC support instructions.
Uninstalled my CS6 today so I can finish a job tomorrow.  Bad decision on my part because I can't reinstall it and am unable to correct
    this problem.
I was able to use CC to update LR, but am absolutely too afraid to touch it now.
I have been waiting inline for Chat also, but the numbers ahead of me are going up.
If someone in this Community forum can help me, it would be fabulous.
    Thanks very much.

    Uninstalled Creative Cloud.
Downloaded it again - 4th time.
Deleted a AAMDetect file from the Library/Internet Plug-ins
Downloaded and installed Adobe App Manager and an icon for it is on my Desktop
    Installed Creative Cloud.
    OK.
Now how do get my Photoshop CS6 back before I download Photoshop CC?
CS6 is not listed in the available Apps in the CC Desktop.
Support wait time right now is 2 hours by phone.
After sitting on Chat yesterday only to see the people "waiting ahead of me" go from 17 to 18, I gave up.
    Please advise.
    Thanks again.

  • How to uninstall adobe dng converter 8.3??

    hello,
i installed adobe dng converter on my windows 7 system. i am very thankfull for any advice how to uninstall it.
the program isn't listed like other programs in the control panel - programs area, so there's no option to uninstall it the usual way.
    greetings sebastian

Why do you think it is necessary to get rid of them? They are automatically installed with Lightroom updates and Camera Raw updates anyway. There really isn't any need to get rid of them. You might someday be in a situation where you could need one of those profiles. If you are using Lightroom or Photoshop or Photoshop Elements you probably already had most of those profiles installed. The installation of the DNG converter would only have added a few new profiles that were added in the latest version.

how to install adobe digital editions on android device (zt pad)

I don't think ADE will itself run on Android.
You need to install an app such as Bluefire (free) which supports DRM epub books.
Make sure you authorise it with the same AdobeID you use on the PC or to buy books.
You can get books on the PC with ADE, download them, 'sideload' the .epub files to the tablet using a file manager such as Windows Explorer, and read them on Bluefire.
For library books, the Overdrive app (free) should allow you to borrow, doanload and read books with no need for a PC or ADE.

Pagemaker 7 has compatibility issues with Windows 7. You can try, but I expect the installer will not work properly.
Either move on to InDesign or keep PM7 on your WinXP setup.
You can also try run the application in Xp compatible mode.

There is no such Flash Player version; the highest 10.x version released was 10.3.183.16 and is available from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
However, version 10.x will not run in 64-bit browsers, you will need Flash Player 11.1 for that.

how to install adobe flash player

Go to Adobe's web page - www.adobe.com - and in the Downloads area click on Adobe Flash Player. When you get to the page click the Install now button. This should download an installer file to your computer, usually it gets put in your Downloads folder. Once download is complete, find the file that was downloaded (typically named something like AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_xxxxxx.dmg) and double click on it. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation.
    Best of luck.
