I've downloaded a free version of adobe acrobat to convert pdf to word...I understand that the installation process is automatic...however it was apparently not installed...help!!!

of course the problem is that this d/l was not typical...usually after the
d/l, there is a prompt to install...I got no such thing...that's the
problem...if I click on the adobe acrobat I get a window which allows me to
choose that I am a novice...then I sign in again...and I go round and
round...and never get to the install portion...

I have just downloaded the Java program (or whatever to call it) and I have went thru the automatic installation process. What shall I d now to open the program, or does it need to be insyalled further in some way? In the helptext they mention to either click the file win.exe (correct name?) or double click in the install button. I dont fine either of them when I look in the directory in explorer. The Java 2 Standard Edition Software Development Kit (J2SE SDK) is a commandline compiler and a Java Runtime Environment. There isn't an 'application' that you would run from your start menu. If you're looking for a java IDE (Integrated Development Environment) download one of the free environments like:
JBuilder Foundations (www.inprise.com)
NetBeans (www.netbeans.org)
or simply a syntax highlighting editor with macro support
Jext (www.jext.org)
Jedit (www.jedit.org)
Or any number of other environments...
To use the commandline you use
To Compile
javac -D c:\where\my\classes\go MyJavaFile.java
To run a class
java the.package.name.TheClassName

Flash Player won’t install after downloading
On the first attempt to install v14, Flash Player v13 was installed and working fine.
I opened the installation package for the new Flash Player, followed standard protocol for installing Mac software and it hung before retrieving anything.
Subsequently, while watching the beach ball spin, I got an error message that the installer could not retrieve the v13 Flash Player software.
So I uninstalled Flash Player 13 and again attempted to install v14, only to see the spinning beach ball followed by a message that the installer could not retrieve the v14 Flash Player software.
I am running OS X v10.9.4 on an early 2013 MBP/Retina display with 3GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz Ram.
If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding my issue, please let me know.

I have downloaded NetBeans Modules files with Extension *.nbm, and they are not getting installed, when I double click on them, or if I go through the Update Center and Select the Downloaded Modules even then also they are not getting installed, so please tell me the procedure how to install them.

It would be helpful to know which version of Java SE you are using, what NetBeans modules are you attemping to install, and any pertinent error messages that arise when you try to install the modules. As Jin_B pointed out, check the system/ide.log file in your .jstudio directory for possible error messages.

Trouble installing after downloading

I downloaded Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium Bundle and installed Photoshop, but I cannot figure out how to install Illustrator and 2 other things. They appear as discs on my desktop (Mac), but there is no "install" button, only folders filled with folders filled with folders of fonts.

Which version of Creative Suite are you installing? For all versions though the main suite installer is utilized to install the software included with the suite.

How to install previously downloaded app? (Downloaded Mountain Lion, didn't install yet)

Downloaded Mountain Lion but didn't install at the time...rebooted then in App Store it showed the "app" was downloaded but there didn't appear to be any way to install it. Clicking on the item (in the "purchases" tab) took me to the app description, but without any option to install, just download. But I already did that!
Does this mean I need to re-download and therefore imply that installation is required BEFORE you reboot?????
I already tried to click again the "download" option, but that just started to re-download Mountain Lion, and so I cancelled that, and now Mountain Lion doesn't even show in the Purchases tab! So now I may have no option.
Poor job Apple!

Check if it's in the Applications folder. If it's not, you'll need to redownload it.

You can download the most recent version of Firefox here:

This should save the file to your computer, and you should be able to double click the downloaded file in order to install it. Hope that helps.

I'm afraid that after all the manipulations your system is so messed up that a regular Skype installation is no longer possible.
Try this:
Download but not run this msi-installer for Skype 6.9.0.106 version:
http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_6.9.0.106.msi
Create a folder on your computer where you want Skype application to be located. This folder can also be C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\, but any other location will work too.
Now using the procedure described here:

extract Skype.exe file from the SkypeSetup_6.9.0.106.msi file and copy this Skype.exe file to the selected installation folder.
Right click on the Skype.exe file and select: Send to – Desktop (create shortcut). You will have to start Skype using this new shortcut.

Because your computer meets the system requirements for those other programs, but it does NOT meet the system requirements for After Effects.
If you look closely at the available CC Applications on your machine, I wouldn't be surprised if you don't find Premiere Pro, either. Both make heavy demands on the hardware, more than the other applications.
Now, if you're thinking, "Why didn't Adobe tell me that in the first place?" there are probably warnings before you download. But I doubt the warnings come with flashing skull-and-crossbones icons.
My part of the country has had a rotten winter. Now that spring is approaching, bajillions of potholes are appearing on city streets. The city has a few "rough road" warning signs up at the worst spots. The signs don't say, "Watch out for the biggest potholes! They'll swallow your car!" The city expects you to be cautious.
Likewise, Adobe expects you to read thoroughly and know your machine before you download.
