How to install an acoustic piano plugin

Hello!
I'm a new user of adobe audition CS5. I have an acoustig guitar, after recording it I'd like to make it sound in different ways. I've already found and installed some plugins that let me distort it so it sounds like an electrical guitar. Now, I'd need to find a plugin that would make it sound like a piano. As far as I know in music, it's called "acoustic piano", when you play a specially tuned electrical guitar and it makes piano-like sounds. I've found several plug-ins that are just .dll files (about 20mb each one), but I can't find a way to install them. I've installed other plugins, as I said, it's pretty easy now in adobe cs5 (you just specify the folder, then click on refresh list and enable it), but my adobe audition just wont see those .dll plugins. I'm starting to doubt if those are plugins or if I'm doing everything right. Any help will be appreciated.

It sounds as though they would be VSTi files if you can actually play them with an instrument, rather than modifying a sound already there. And if that's the case you're out of luck - Audition CS5.5 doesn't support VSTi's at all, and neither will Audition CS6.

I was trying to install the new 64-bit flash plugin for my newly install 64-bit Arch.

I'm not used to AUR, and have no idea how to use it for now. I just want to get the 64-bit version plugin working asap without any complaexity.
So is there any fast way to get it to work? (i'm open to adding a repository to my /etc/pacman.conf)

would be good enough for me for now.

I think I understand your concern at most. I also had the same problem. What you can (should !!!) do is:
1. Download this "Square" Preview Release from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs … 710.tar.gz
2. Unpack it
3. Execute the command "mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins/"
4. Copy the unpacked libflashplayer.so into the above folder you created by doing "mv libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/"
5. Restart your firefox
6. Optional (check whether it is installed by typing about:plugins in your browser URL field.) you should be able to see this under shockwave flash.
I have seen many people saying that this version does not work very well. For me it is working flawlessly and effortlessly. Once they publish the official version, I will switch to the newest. Otherwise, I really do not have any problem with it. Good for you! :-)

I found out that I had installed the Canon drivers OK, I just had to download the Adobe Photoshop CS4 Optional plug-ins and ReadMe http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4047 and after a restart it all works fine in CS4, OS X 10.5.6

The plugins folder in the Firefox installation folder doesn't exist by default. There is no default plugin in Firefox 4, so that folder would be empty and in thus not included. If you want to use that location then you need to create a plugins folder.
Did you try /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins ?

A Plug_in normally come with an installer or install instructions. Check the documentation for the plug-in you trying to install. It sounds like you don't know what plug-ins you want to install. About the setting of Hostname verification the follwoing.
Whe you, as a consumer, invoke an external website, it could be that someone has hacked the website-address and redirects your request to a dummy site that possibly resembles the original one. In that case, the real server name of that fake server will probably be not the same as the one you expect.
Because you have earlier exchanged the right certificates with the provider you can be sure that the request will come from that specific server.
So, enabling hostname verification gives an extra check to prevent the so called man-in-the-middle attack.
Ok, so far so good.
Now the reality.
If providers are not strickt in using certificates that belong one-to-one to their servers, you can have a problem in enablng hostname verification.
If necessary you can write your own hostname verification Java class to be able to support specific SSL certificates that you still trust.

it was removed with a reason. is not compatible with ff 4 and up. upstream removed from vlc in the next version(1.2) and is in a separate repo.
