How to install CS4 bought for windows, now to be installed on Mac
Hi, can anyone help me? I bought CS4 Design Standard for Windows and now I need to install it on my new Mac?
Creative Suite serial numbers have always been platform specific: Windows only or Mac only.
The only time you get to choose is at the point of sale.
After that swapping to another operating system requires a platform transfer process but that is only available for the current version (CS6)

In short, you're unfortunately stuck with CS4 for Windows.
Your options now are either to buy CS6 for Mac or join the Cloud. Or run Windows on your Mac via Parallels or Bootcamp or similar and install CS4 for Windows in that environment.
One of the features of Cloud software is that it can be used interchangeably on Mac and/or Windows at any time without any platform swapping processes or paperwork.

You cannot install CS5.5 Windows onto your Mac.
You must either purchase a new copy of CS6 for your Mac or join the Creative Cloud (and pay the monthly fee).
If you join the Cloud you can then install CS6 (and soon version CC) on both your Mac and Windows for the same membership fee. -

What you suggest is not possible.
As you have formatted your hard disk for Windows it will not recognize the Mac install disk. -

Many and sincere thanks!!You need to have your computer looked at for upgrading and evaluate your third party hardware, software and files.
To fix your issue is too complicated and lengthy to go into all of it here, it will require the services of person very familiar and experienced with Mac's to first recover your data and then restore OS X back to a functional state which may or may not require new hardware/software installed.
You can hire the services of a local Mac computer support technician experienced in these matters.
Have them look at your Wifi security/speed, RAM amount, extra storage and computer backup proceedures in the process.

How do you grant permission for home sharing and authorizing? My mac did home share, but now says, "The required directory was not found or has a permissions error", when I try to authorize.
OK, I just got off of the phone with Apple and still no joy. They had me try a few things that did not work, then told me to Archive and Install, which did not either. Anyway, thanks for the additional help very note worthy, but still no joy. Also an email to iTunes Support took me here

I have a Users/Shared folder but since the files we are talking about are invisible, I can see how it is structured.

and it did not work. However, when I install a fresh copy of Tiger on the external it did authorize the computer and was able to play the downloads. But coping the invisible file to my boot drive was not successful. But , like I said the music did play when I started up from the external. So I guess that may be my only solution, unless someone can tell what the correct directory is and where it for iTunes downloads. -

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one which has already been described is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Choosing the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod ( for example, around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB Mini or Nano). Thank you for you answer, but it isn't heart of the problem. The problem is that I don't have choose iTunes version manually, it's happens automatically, and start downloading iTunes for Windows 32-bit.

Well, if you had bought the boxed version there would be no problem, but download serial numbers are supposed to work only on one platform. Try downloading the mac trial and entering your serial number. If it works, great. If not, you can contact adobe to do a crossgrade if you're willing to give up the windows version.
