The data mining feature comes with the 9i/10g Enterprise database edition. If you have installed the Enterprise edition, you got the server. Look for the DM directory in your database installation for more information.

I think you need to use ODMr 10.1.0.2 to connect to 10.1.0.2 database. You can dowload the same at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/odm/odminer.html

Unable to connect to data mining server via data miner

Hello!
After installing Critical Patch October 2005 we receive the following error message while trying to connect to the data mining server: "Unable to connect to data mining server".
Before installing the patch we had no problems connecting via data miner (Windows 2000 Client).
We are running Oracle DB 10.1.0.3 on SUSE 9 Linux.
Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming your rig can support virtual machines, you can use Hyper-V and run another OS there.
Better practice however is to use a dedicated machine and use remote desktop to the server.

Installing Data Mining

Hi,
I would like to install and try to use data mining option. I was following Data mining Admin's Guide but something is going wrong. I have installed EE (enterprise edition) and in dbca for database I have checked "Data mining". I have checked v$option. Data Mining was true, but Data Mining scoring engine (DMSE) was false. So I use runInstaller to install DMSE. But after than when I checked v$option DMSE was true :-) but Data Mining got false :-(.
So I have tried to run manually catodm.sql to re-install Data mining. It passed without error but no success. User DMSYS exist, but v$option was false for Data Mining.

I am not very knowledgeable about Oracle Data Miner, the graphical user interface to Oracle Data Mining, but I can respond to your question about API documentation.
You may find the source files for the Data Mining sample programs to be very helpful. They provide many examples. After installing Oracle Database, install Oracle Database Examples. This separate installation process installs the sample programs in the DEMO directory under Oracle Home. Instructions for installing and configuring the sample programs are provided in Oracle Data Mining Administrator's Guide. Here is the link to the relevant chapter in the 11.1 Administrator's Guide.

How to install data safe

Have installed via FTP my data safe box. According to MAC it can hold confidential files and documents.
My problems are that the box remains in the .dmg status. It contains fragments of .DS_Store, trash etc. I cannot delete those pieces. Consequently the data safe will not open properly. The dmg version of it opens only via FTP. I repeated the installation but end up in the same situation.

How to install Oracle Developer Server 6.0 on NT?

I am trying to install the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 on NT using the CD's available through the Oracle Enterprise Developer Suite for NT. The cover pack on the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 CD shows a product called Developer Server. (Please note that I have another CD called Oracle Developer 6.0 in the suite). However, when I run the installer and look at the products available on the CD, there is no product called Developer Server. The CD only contains Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports etc.
Further, I just tried a typical Development Setup, but it starts the installation and suddenly exits the installer without giving any error message or any other info. Why is the installer ending abruptly? Thinking that it is not a Y2K complaint Installer, I actually tried installing the CD contents from a Y2K complaint Installer but during the installation process, it exits with a message that the Installer need to be installed from the media. This message is displayed although I don't select Oracle Installer as one of the product to be installed.
Has anyone else faced a similar problem? Could some one let me know how to install the Oracle Developer Server 6.0 on NT.

following commands executed using root
chown -R oracle:oinstall /home/oracle
chown -R oracle:oinstall /opt/ora
chmod -R 777 /home/oracle

./runInstaller -executeSysPrereqs command output==> OK/Pass I dont have patch 118345-03
As patch 118345-03 is not required for the solaris 10with kernal patch/update 5.
./runinstaller and installation type= Advance => OC4j was installed successful but http server gives error.
HTTP server configuration assistant Fails. Setup doesnot complete.
error ==> http server fails to start Managed processes after the maximun retry limit.
error status 206
**** see HTTP_Server~1.log in opmn/logs folder. nothing in log except startprocess and stop process
**** Apache/Apache/logs don't have any LOG or httpd.id file.

Dear Experts,
I am in the process of installaing Content Server in my landscape, i am working on Suse Linux 10 SP2 and planning to install ContentServer 6.30.
I have read the standard SAP installation document for the same and it says that we need to install Apache Web server version 1.3.XX, so i have downloaded the file apache_1.3.27-x86_64-whatever-linux22.tar.
Now i want to know the following before i take any actions on my further installation of the Content Server
What is the difference between Apache and httpd servers (services) are they different or same
Is the file apache_1.3.27-x86_64-whatever-linux22.tar correct to install Web Server on my Linux system
Do i have to download any other httpd files
How to install and start the Web server on my Linux

You can install a higher apache also (2.2.x), I'd not use the old versions. I'd also not use a "somwhere" compiled apache, you don't now if that version is clean.
I'd rather compile an own one, it's not that difficult:
