How to install ERp 2004.

Hello all, I want to install ERP (mysap) 2004, I went to downloads area in the sap, after going into the ERP 2004 there are lot of stuff, I am big ambiguous which I have to download and how tostart the process. If any body could assist me I appreciate that.
My system configuration is
Dell Optiplex 320,
Intel pentium d cpu
2.80 ghz
2 gb ram
160 gigs
windows 2003 nt.
I need help regarding what I have to download from there, and how I have to start the process.

First thing you need to download, if you are doing ABAP Stack installation:
1. Master CD
2. Kernel CD
3. Export CD
4. Database CD and Client in case of Oracle with patch.

Hi gurus, I want to install a fresh new ERP6.0 system in my company. Since there is EHP4 out in the market then i want to install that version. I have read through the EHP erp 6.0 master guide and relevant document but it's seems to be not clear how to directly install the EHP4. I want to install a Java+Abab system with EP,BI and EPCore.
I've downloaded the Installation Master for 7.01 SR1. I've choose the *Sap ERP 6.0 EHP4 Ready u2013 Support Release 1* to install. But there is no option to Install Dual Stack which is Java+ ABAB at once. The option available is only Abap separately and Java separately which u cant install two instance with the same SID. How do i solve this issue. Is there another way to install the EHP4. If do please guide me through. I'm very confuse.

Not necessarily two servers. If it is a development or testing system and if the server has sufficient resources to handle two instances then you can install those separate instances one for ABAP and one for JAVA in single server.
If it is production environment and planning for MSCS, then better to install in separate servers.

Hi Venkat,
You have not mentioned your server specification, because all the clustering in base of your system configuration. For more information your OS person can guide you.
For example: If you have one system with storage then you can install application on server and databse on your storage and same can be done in clusting server.
If you can provide the specification then we can guide you.

ERP 2004 IDES - Oracle DB installation not working

I'm in the process of installing ERP 2004 IDES in our test environment but I seem to have problems with the Oracle installation. I followed all the steps from the guides and double clicked the file sapserver.cmd but nothing happens, just a quick flash. Any suggestions / assistance would be appreciated.

You can start the oracle universal installer in 2 ways
1) by executing the script sapserver.cmd
2) by clicking the setup.exe from I386\install folder

Installing livecache 2004s in mscs

Hi, I have been searching on how to install livecache 2004s in a microsoft cluster. I have found note 780759 which describes how to on a 7.5 version.
Does any of you know where this is documented?

Yes I'm a SAP customer and I have access however I'm not able to find a note on lc 2004s and the inst. guide doesn't mention clustering either.
Maybe there is a note which I just haven't found or maybe the procedure is just documented somewhere else.

I also met the error. I doubt that it can not run the statement: exec sp_bindefault 'str_default','A305.KAPPL'. I want to test it manually, but I don't know the password of the user(same name as instance). anyone know it. In addition to, did you install the IDES on one virtual machine? I installed it on one virtual machine. someone thought that it cause the result.

How to change (NT)Domain Name after installed ERP?

Hello,
We are planning to change (NT) Domain Name on environment of already installed ERP/BW(WAS 6.40)/SRM/SolMan(NW 7.0).
We know SAP recommend that customer should be Re-install or System-copy SAP-System if the Domain name is changed after installed systems.
However, we do not have enough time and budget for doing that.
Questions:
1). If the (NT) Domain name will be changed, we only need to change the
OS users of service for SAP-System?
(I think that it is needed to change only OS-users of SAP-service. Is there other setting for that?)
2). The method of only changing users of SAP-service is not supported in this case?
(The customer will be not taken the SAP-Official support after doing that?)

Changing domain name is not supported by SAP if done in a productive environment (after systems have gone live).
You will probably not get support by SAP after you change the domain name once system is live.
There are a bunch of changes you will need to perform as well.
The domain name is probably existing in the RFC's and you cannot change all of those through SM59.
You will need to update those entries at Oracle level.
SAP parameters containing domain name
Java environment where domain name is contained
Reset hostname buffer
Service marketplace
SAP Logon
STMS
Monitoring perhaps, non SAP job scheduling

How to get Developer Studio front end after installing NW 2004 SP16

Hello Friends,
I have installed NW 2004 - SP16. I can find the short cut in Desktop only for SAP Management console. Where to get the shortcut for Developer studio n SQL server.
I hope Developer studio is installed with sp16.
I have installed it in C drive. When I try to install ABAP stack in D drive, I am getting an error. Is this because already existence of Java stack.

Ldap integration on mySAp ERP 2004

1°)I'm installed SAP ERP 2004 for use ESS webdynpro.
I'm configure LDAP connection since SAP Portal, and now, all my client ( on LDAP system ) are connected on SAP PORTAL. That's very good.
2°)I'm implemente a "replication "fonction in SAP Portal for automaticly create a same user on ABAP system.
That's good.
Now, if I'm create a new user on portal system, a same user is create on abap system. That's very good...
But if I'm implemente the 2 solutions on my system, LDAP user can connected on SAP Portal ( SAP Portal see it on LDAP system ) but the replication doesn't run because no user is created on SAP Portal.
The LDAP fonctionnalities is very good but I didn't know how apply it on ABAP system???
Which solution should be implemented for that one LDAP user can launch a ESS webdynpro automaticly???

Not clear with your question. But, have you decided on where to keep the user stores ...
1. Corporate users
2. SAP users
The corporate users can be in the LDAP and you can authenticate portal users against the LDAP.
The sap users are defined seperately in the sap user store (the logon ids match the windows logon (ldap)).
The next step is to configure SSO between the J2EE engines of ERP system and Portal (if they are on a different host).
Define the ERP system in the portal, enable SSO and assign the role to the user. You should be able to then access the ESS iViews seamlessly.
The help documentation provides all in detail I mentioned above.

IDES ERP 2004 Database Instance

I am try to install the ides erp 2004, database(MS SQL 2000 enterprise edition).The central instance installation was successful but database instance is stalling at Database load(post processing stage)with an error in the log file as
sapparam: sapargv( argc, argv) has not been called. sapparam(1c): No Profile used. sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME ...
Can anybody give me an idea how to solve this problem Thankz in advance

The DB load part of the installation is lengthy so I suggest letting the installation finish and then try to start sap.
If the installation aborts during the load process , retry.

I have got one document in sdn . It has given the prerequisite as.
Complete installation of DI (CMS, DTR, and CBS) on SAP J2EE Engine
Should i install all the above component? or any one of the components, if need to be, can u anbody tell me how to install , where i will get the help.
How i need to setup the JDI.
We are working on Webdynpro, and VC, some of the portal components development.
Installing the DTR alone is enough to move forward, or JDI is required to setup?

BCZ in that document it is gving clearly that, the above components are prerequisites for installing the JDI.

Source system icons changes when connecting SAP BW to mySAP ERP 2004

Hi,
Just an Interesting observation in relation to the creation of source systems in SAP BW to SAP Web AS 6.40 based systems (mySAP ERP 2004, mySAP SRM, etc).
I thought it would be interesting to share!
The behavior is logical but can be a surprise for a BW administrator who is not aware of the new internal SAP BW systems within mySAP ERP 2004.
Scenario:
The customer was connecting a stand-alone BW system to two new systems with latest and greatest mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.00) and mySAP SRM.
Observation:
In the past the SAP R/3 source system would be created with a "SAP R/3 icon" indicating a SAP Source system.
As of mySAP ERP 2004, the source systems will be created in the SAP BW standalone system with the "SAP BW System icon".
Note: This is also the same behavior for new releases of mySAP SRM, and other SAP applications that are based on SAP Web AS 6.40 or greater
Why?:
The standalone SAP BW system is connecting to a system that contains an internal SAP BW system. The standalone SAP BW system determines that it is possible to extract both from the internal BW System and from the Plug-in extractors. It simply denotes that this source system is a SAP BW system and uses the BW Source system icon. (Remember SAP BW is client independent*!).
Note: This behavior will still occur even if you do not use the internal SAP BW system within mySAP ERP! It is there whether you use it or not.
Second Note: You can still use the ERP Content extractors from the mySAP ERP Source System as you did in prior releases.
Another related observation:
I would expect that this case will probably be true even if you only use the internal SAP BW.
Scenario: You use the internal SAP BW in another client in the mySAP ERP system than your ERP processing.
Result: The connection between the BW client and the ERP client source system(s) (i.e. client 001 for ERP, client 100 for BW), both the 'myself' and ERP client source systems, will show up as BW source systems!
Source system 001 and source system 100 will be displayed as SAP BW icons because SAP BW is client independent*
user master and authorizations are client dependent

Here I select Use - but i get an error : Error in source system'.
