Yes Pages 5 is very different and has many features and templates missing.
You do not install fonts in Pages, you install them in the System. Purchase/Download them and double click on them to install.
The manual for Pages 5 is online. Click on the link under the Help menu.

  • Help! forgot how to install fonts

I forgot how to install fonts in 10.3.9. Using Fontbook 1.0.2. The Help files tell me to open Fontbook>File>install. My Version shows File>add fonts. Doesn't do it. Can I still drag fonts to closed fonts folder?
Since the fonts were sent e-mail by a client to use on the job, unzipping gave me little black screen icons (look like little, tiny gray screens with OSX in the corner). Is this why they won't work? Did zipping them corrupt them?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    astromonkey

    hi,
i had this same scenario before.
unzipping gave you little black screen icons? you can try adding extensions to their file names like the usual fonts.
or do they have 0kb size? if then, something went wrong in the zipping process.
    hope this helps

  • How to install fonts from CS3 into CS5?

At work I often need the font DIN which was installed with our version CS3. At home I have CS5 and I do not know how to install the needed fonts. I packed the relevant file with the fonts and other links into a directory but how can I install the fonts at my personal computer using Windows. When using a Mac it was quite easy to install the font, I just click at the font within the directory "fonts" and with another click on "install" I got the font. My PC however asks me which programme I want the file to open with - but which one should it be? It can't be Word, Photoshop, IrfanView or whatever. So what do I do? Can anybody please help me?

Well.. there are many different kinds of font files out there. Some of them advertise the type of font in the filename, e.g.
    DINBold.otf
    DINBold.ttf
    DINBold.pfm
    DIN.dfont
    DIN.ttc
    and so on.
Others, typically Mac fonts, don't have a file extension that tells us what kind of file it is. Of those Mac fonts, there's one kind that you can't use on Windows at all, because when you look at it in Windows the size is zero kilobytes. The fact that, at some point in the past, you moved a file from Mac to Windows without font problems does not make a platform-compatibility problem any more or less likely - perhaps it was all set in fonts you already had installed at home. The fact that right now it doesn't work in the Document Fonts folder makes me believe that you may have a Mac font resource fork problem - that's what would make the filesize 0k. If your fonts don't have file extensions (or if you have file extensions hidden by Windows, which is the way Win7 works by default) then you can't really know what kind of font file it is. Looking at the Properties of the font file will tell you, though.
Lastly: since you don't own an (extra) license for the font, you'd be ripping off the font developers by installing it on your home computer, although obviously not intentionally.

  • How to install Fonts into Adobe Illustrator

I am using a computer that runs on Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Hi there I want to know  how to install new Fonts / Typefaces into Adobe Illustrator CS3?
I am also curious as to how I would install fonts on other Adobe CS applications?
All help, links, and resources much appreciated.

I just dragged and dropped the downloaded ".tff" font files into in Font Book icon in theDock and a new window popped up and just click "Install Font" button.
That works, too. Sets are, more than anything else, just a way to organize your fonts by project. By dropping the font in, it should now be listed in one of the standard headings like "Computer".
The new fonts have automatically loaded into Adobe Illustrator CS3 without having to close it.
Better apps will see when fonts have been enabled or disabled without having to close and restart them. Microsoft Word (and likely the entire Office suite) does not.

  • How to install fonts in indesign cs5 mac

My designer sent me some fonts for a document they created for me, but I have been unable to figure out how to install the fonts. Google search and adobe search and still I am not able to figure this out. I am using macintosh os 10.64.
    Can someone provide any guidance?

If you've already searched Google for something like "install fonts on mac 10.6" and have followed the instructions on the first link (under "Locations where fonts can be stored") then you'll have to post more details for us to help you. For example:
Which fonts are they? (Not all fonts can be used by a Mac, like Type 1 fonts for Windows. Give us the complete name of the font, hopefully with a file extension.)
How do you know they are missing? (Sure, when you open up the document it gives you a missing font warning, but it might just be a font naming problem, like InDesign is looking for "Helvetica Neue LE Regular" and your font is called "Helvetica Neue Regular." You can use Find Font under the Type menu to find & replace if necessary. If you don't see the missing font warning when you open the file, how do you know the fonts are missing?)
Where have you tried to install them? (There's quite a few places to install a font on a Mac; have you tried any of them? It's worth pointing out that installing multiple copies of fonts in multiple locations can cause fonts to not be read in some circumstances.)
What version of InDesign are you using? (If it's CS5 and there's a "Document Fonts" folder in the same folder as the InDesign document you're trying to open, then InDesign is supposed to be able to read them, but sometimes it borks up and you have to move or delete the Document Fonts folder in order to get it to work.)
and there are other minor possibilities like
What languages are the fonts supposed to support? (InDesign puts its Chinese, Arabic etc. fonts all the way at the bottom of its window)
    and
Are you sure that the fonts aren't damaged? (What size are the files? Are they still in a zipped folder? Maybe they were broken when you downloaded them from your email.)
    et cetera

  • Why are there no instructions for how to install fonts on Frame 10?

The documentation is horrible! It says in many places, reinstall the fonts, but it never says how to do that or where to find out how to do that.
How do I install fonts on Frame 10?
    Thanks,
    Carl

    Which fonts?
I suspect that for fonts you already had prior to FM10, you wouldn't be asking.
Adobe sez: Adobe® FrameMaker® 10 includes the following OpenType® fonts for Western languages: Minion® Pro, Myriad® Pro, Adobe Garamond® Pro, Letter Gothic Standard, News Gothic Standard, and Courier Standard. For symbols, FrameMaker 10 includes Symbol Standard. For Chinese text, Adobe Fangsong Standard and Adobe Kaiti Standard are provided. Kozuka Gothic® and Kozuka Mincho® are provided for Japanese text.
Is the question then a matter of: where on the media and/or in the download are these found?
Once located, and as needed, unpacked, installing them is trivial.
    I haven't used FM10, and don't know the location.

  • How to install font to photoshop

How would i install font (not font that my windows 7 box has) that I use in my psd file so that if I would give my psd file to someone then can view same font even though he doesn't have that font installed on his box.

That's not possible simply because it doesn't work this way. The only way to retain the appearance without a font installed would be a PDF with embedded glyphs, but naturally that isn't editable...

  • How to install fonts in adroid based firefox?

There is no way to add fonts without a rooted device. If you had a rooted device you could install fonts to the system folder.

  • How to install Fonts on G4 running 10.3.9 and Classic 9.2.2

Just purchased a used G4 and it is a super machine. I am having a problem, however, installing my fonts (from a CD) into Font Book. I am getting wicked nostalgic for my G3 where I just dragged my fonts to my System folder and bingo! They installed! On the G4, in Font Book, I just can't get them to come up in the column, and when I tried installing each individually, they never show up, even after restart. I have tons and tons of fonts I use all the time.
Why won't they go where they should? Because of this, all my type is chunky in Quark. Grrr.

    In addition to Kappy's advice.
Font Book won't activate any fonts for Classic unless you tell it to use "classic Mac OS" as the activation method (before 10.3.5). It then puts installed fonts in the OS 9 (Classic) /System Folder/Fonts/ folder. In that location, both OS 9 and OS X can use the fonts.
For 10.3.5 and later, which is where you are, Font Book will only store installed fonts in either the /Library/Fonts/ folder, or the Fonts folder of your user account; whichever one you chose in its preferences. In either location, OS 9 will not see the fonts. If you need an OS 9 application to see the fonts you want open, then you either need to place them manually into the /System Folder/Fonts/ folder, or use a font manager that will activate fonts simultaneously for OS 9 and X. Suitcase X or X1 can do that, as can FontAgent Pro.
...when I tried installing each individually, they never show up, even after restart.
If what you're talking about is Type 1 PostScript fonts, you may not have copied everything over. Type 1 PostScript fonts are a set. One file is a suitcase containing all of the low res bitmap screen fonts. The rest are the outline printer fonts. As an example, here's Adobe Garamond.
    Adobe Garamond
    AGarBol
    AGarBolIta
    AGarIta
    AGarReg
    AGarSem
    AGarSemIta
The first file which I highlighted in green is the font suitcase of bitmap screen fonts. The rest are the outline printer fonts.
    1) The files for a Type 1 PostScript font must have both the screen and printer fonts for a given set in order to work. They also must be in the same folder.
    2) The suitcase of bitmap fonts will work alone, but output will be terrible since the system will print the fonts using the 72 dpi screen fonts in the suitcase if the outline portions are missing.
    3) Having only the outline fonts will not work. You will get exactly what you are having problems with. You can see the fonts, but they will not load. That's not a problem with Font Book, Suitcase or other font manager. None of them, nor the system itself will load outline fonts from a Type 1 PostScript font without the matching suitcase of screen fonts present.

  • Who knows how to install fonts CS5 w/win xp?

I am running Adobe Web Premium CS5 on a Windows XP sp3 machine.
I want to install some fonts for the CS to utilize and load on startup.  Previously, with CS4, all I had to do was place the font files in the following folder
    C:\program files\common files\adobe\fonts\
What is the equivalent folder when running CS5 in WinXP?
I cannot install fonts into the system fonts folder, due to access restrictions (i am a non-administrator).
There is also a performance advantage to this, as the fonts in the above folder are not indexed by the OS.
    Thank you for any help!

That feature is dead. Installing fonts in the system folder is mandatory.

  • How to install fonts in Adobe Livecycle Designer

    Hi All,
I want to install new fonts in adobe LiveCycle designer.
I installed this fonts in Control Panel >Fonts>File -->Install New Fonts and it is possible to see them in  Livecycle Designer but when i preview the adobe print form this not work.
I found in the installation of the ADS configuration Guide this informations.
Adobe document services require access to fonts that are installed with the Font Manager Module. This module contains a number of Adobe bundled fonts installed in /usr/sap//j2ee/os_libs/adssap/FontManagerService/fonts/adobe.
You can also add fonts obtained from other vendors. The types of fonts you can add are OpenType® (.otf), TrueType® (.ttf), and PostScript® Type 1 (.pfb/.pfm).
So the question is how can i install new fonts so as to use in Adobe Forms?
I will appreciate any help and documentations about.
    Thank you,

Adobe document services require access to fonts that are installed with the Font Manager Module. This module contains a number of Adobe bundled fonts installed in /usr/sap/<SID>/J<xx>/j2ee/os_libs/adssap/FontManagerService/fonts/adobe.
Create a subdirectory called fonts below the

Create a subdirectory called customer below the fonts directory created in the previous step
Copy your font file(s) into the customer directory
Restart the "Document Services Font Manager" for the changes to take effect.Use Visual Admin on the Adobe Document server
