How to install garageband on original iPad ?

I just purchased garageband without realizing it is not compatible with original iPads.
Came across article on web suggesting that I should be able to download an older version of the app as long as I own the current version. Which I do.
Have spent past few (as in many) hours searching app store, apple website and web trying to find out how.
Is is possible ? If so, how ?
Help Please !?!

How to install iOS 6 on iPad 2?

I see. Sorry. I didn't understand what you were asking.
The way that you decide to update is up to you. I plan updating via WiFI myself and not use iTunes. You have the choice. If you decide to update with iTunes, you may want to temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software until the update completes. But you can update over WiFi if you want to do so.
Remember that millions of people world wide will want to update their devices and the servers may be very busy today.

  • HT3678 How do install this on my iPad? I paid for this but can't download it

I don't know how to install QuickTime on my iPad. Have purchased it and have rego number but not sure where to go from here.
Any help would be really appreciated.

The iOS is a completely different OS than OS X. QuickTime for the Mac is not written to work on an iPad. There is no way to install it.

  • How to install Garageband which is downloaded on a desktop?

I need to install Garageband on my iPhone 4S.
As it's around 900 MB in size, I am planning to download it on my Windows desktop.
My question is, once I have downloaded it, will I be able to install the file on my phone?
    If so, how?

You need to purchase the app through iTunes on your computer, then sync it to your phone.

  • How to install Elements 11 on iPad Air? [was:Can someone help?]

How to install elements 11 that I purchased as a download and installed one copy to Mac desktop now I want to install second copy on new Mac iPad air. Can u help?

You cannot install any desktop software of your choosing on iPad Air - only apps specifically written for the iOS operating system and available via the Apple App Store.
Adobe desktop products - including Elements 11 - require the Mac OS X desktop operating system (e.g Mavericks etc). The iPad Air runs the Apple iOS mobile operating system. Software designed for OS X will not run on iOS and vice versa.
The only way to download and install software on the iPad is via the Apple App Store. That's an Apple restriction so they can control your iPad environment and get their cut of App Store sales.
Adobe mobile apps, including Photoshop Touch and Photoshop Express, for various mobile platform including iOS and Android are listed here
    http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/mobile._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_mobiledevi ces.html
That's the only Adobe software available for mobile devices, including iPad, so far. Lightroom Mobile is coming soon but it's not ready yet.
P.S. You can run Chrome on the iPad but, again you must download it from the App Store

There's no Firefox for the iPad to my knowledge

  • HT4623 How can I update my original iPad to an iOS higher than 5.1.1? It says my software is up to date, but how can it be if it is still iOS 5?

How can I update my iPad to an operating system higher than 5.1.1? It says software is up to date, but I'd like it to be iOS 7, or at least 6!

The original iPad is incapable of running iOS 6 and newer. Therefore, it's up to date with 5.1.1.

how do i update my origianl ipad online
i need to update it because i am trying to manually secure my wifi through my ipad

iOS versions before 5.0 require that you start iTunes on your computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in the left column of itunes on your computer and select Summary in the right column. Then click Check for Updates and follow the prompts to update your iOS on the iPad.
If your iPad has iOS version 5.0 or later you can update the iOS without connecting to your computer. Go to
Settings > General > Software Update and follow the prompts.

  • How to install Aperture without original dvd

I lost my Aperture 2 installation and Aperture 3 upgrade disks. How to install Aperture in my new Macbook ?

Do you still have the Aperture 2 and Aperture 3 registration codes? Then you can download the Trial installer and use that to install Aperture on your new Macbook.
You can download the Aperture 3 trial installer to reinstall Aperture from this webpage - there is a link to the trial and instructions on how to reinstall - don't let the title of this page distract you :
Aperture 3.4: May quit unexpectedly on launch after updating
The Aperture 3 serial number will be available in the about panel, when you are running Aperture on your old mac (from the main menu bar: Aperture > About Aperture).

  • How do I upgrade from original iPad to a new iPad Air?

Getting a new iPd Air for Christmas from the best wife in the world.  Currently have an original iPad that I would like to sweep clean and give to my young grandson for education games.  The current iPad is backed up on iTunes

On your one, do a full backup.
Then when you set up your Air, as you go through the process you'll need to choose to set up as new or restore from the backup of your old one. Choose to restore from backup if you want your new one to be a near clone of the old one.
Once you're satisfied you have everything off the old one that you need, go into the settings, general, erase all content and settings. This puts your old one back to an 'out of box' state, where all that's on it are the bundled apps and your grandson can set it up as he or his parents wish.

  • How do you update your original iPad ios

Hi,  I have the original iPad.  For the life of me , i I can't update the iOS.  I was told i can download the  update. But I am unable to do it.  Please help.

What version is on there now? If you have iOS 5.1.1, that's the last version an iPad 1 can run. If you have iOS 4.x or earlier, see the section titled "Update your device using iTunes" in this support article:

Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

  • How do I install safari on original iPad

Settings, safari, only lists bing, yahoo and google as options and not safari.  How do I put safari on the list?

You ARE using Safari as your web browser. Google is either the website you last visited (which is why Safari shows it when you tap the icon) or Google is set as the seach site for Safari, so when you search the web, the results come from Google.

  • HT1491 How to install purchased application on iPad

I am new to the iPad world, and this super-expensive toy is already driving me nuts. if it is not too much to ask, how could I install a recently purchased app, that I've purchased directly from the Apple's flagship store? Thank you in advance for educating me.

Thank you very much Demo for your prompt and kind reply. Beyond my obvious frustration after paying so much and getting so little from this dumb toy, I have to say this: I did purchase the Parallels Mobile app from Apple Store. When finally done with the purchase, (that is after that long and thorrow interrogation - ya know, Guantanamo style...), I quit the Apple Store app and went back to the main menu, and started swipping back and forth screens searching for my purchased app. But no, today was not meant to be my lucky day. Spent other 30 minutes  browsing the Internet and searching for clues. BTW, found it full of that iTunes nonsense, which I don't need, never will and I never want to know about on any of my systems that I own. Silly me I was expecting this this piece of junk to behave more like some sort of scaled down notepad running some decent Unix-like operating system on it. Apparently what we've got instead is an uncontrolable money making machine for Apple, built to lure overheated minds into thinking that it might have been the best thing ever invented by humanity. So in the end, after posting my question, I shut down this little treasure and went out for a walk to chill down. I have restarted the junkie again an hour later, and surprise, surprise, the purchased app's icon was thre waiting for me click on, thank you very much. Then I have also grasped your very kind message, Demo, which I trully appreciate, trust me. So am I happy now with my toy? The answer is definitelly NO.. For a system developper with many years of experience like myself, this toy is a true disapomtment. I fully appreciate and understand how hard the Apple engineers have worked to fill the Apple executives pockets with money, but I can't tell you how stupid I feel for paying for that. Like my wife always says, "it iwas all my fault".
