besides the above I made it work by moving the files and linking all plugin folders to /usr/share/totem/plugins it works realy well for me also installed all the plugins for totem and others that were needed like flash and bmp like bmp-wma... etc.
the onli problem I have is that under normal user I have no sound, so if I want to lisen to what i see I have to use root , also goes the same for my hauppage HVR-1600 only works under root
after installing the new drivers and on ly under root i can see one channel an hear under root by command "mplayer -v0 x11 /dev/video0" that makes me some what happy since I could't make it work whit any other distro that I have tried .... many of them.....

Firefox 4 no longer extracts XPIs when installing extensions. It just places the XPI file in the user profile, and then reads the chrome files and others directly out of the XPI.
If your .xpi is not from Mozilla addons I guess we may not be sure what it is intended to do, or what version of Firefox it was designed for.

Note that installing an extension doesn't guarantee that the extension will work properly, so use with caution.
Otherwise you would have to edit the install.rdf file in the extension's xpi (zip) archive to bump the max-version.

useful information.
A search for 'zip' in these help files returns 'nothing
found'. Very useful.

I tried to install PMD extension to JDEV 11g TP4 without success.
Check for updates doesn't bring this extension.
Tools --> Preferences --> extension brings following message:
The ide.extensions or ide.noextensions system properties are set and override user extension preferences. To configure extensions, unset these properties and restart.
Release notes of JDev 11g TP4 says:
In this release, users are unable to manage extensions from the Tools > Preferences, Extensions page. The user will instead see the following message:

Is there a other way to add this extension?

I have vlc installed, but the vlc plugin isn't shown in firefox's about:addons.
I checked both the wiki and the forums, but couldn't find any helpful information.

it was removed with a reason. is not compatible with ff 4 and up. upstream removed from vlc in the next version(1.2) and is in a separate repo.

Unfortunately, in terms of security i´m not sure that adding this will fix my problem, having in mind that is preliminary reviewed, i doubt that might create a new problems for me. Speaking of high security the things are a bit more complicated. I hope that in the future versions of Firefox for Android, such problems wont occur. Thank you once again for the support.
