How to install KDE Applications 5?
Hi,
Are there any programs dedicated to kde 5? With KDE ArchWiki shows "Applications based on KF5 will have a first release in December 2014." So, I mean mostly about apps like Dolphin, Kate, compatibility with gtk (oxygen-gtk*). Thank you for your help in advance.
@formoza - Please take a look at: https://www.kde.org/announcements/annou … 4.12.0.php - KDE Applications 14.12 is a very strange Most of these apps are based on kdebase-workspace 4.11.14 (KDE4), only few are KF5 based (kate, kwrite, konsole, gwenview, and few more). Dolphin is still KDE4 apps. There is a 3rd party repository with KDE Apps 14.12 in 14.11.97 (RC1) version, look at: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=190482
I've allready tried build *-frameworks-git apps from AUR, but it's not possible. Almost all of these apps are build against KF5-git and Plasma5-git, then if you want to build them from AUR, you have to build all KF5-git, Plasma5-git and KDE Apps-git. And... only few more apps will be native Qt5/Plasma5 apps then there're allready in kde-beta repository.
According to: https://dot.kde.org/2014/12/17/kde-appl … orks-ports KDE Team are expecting the porting of applications to Qt 5 and Frameworks 5 to happen over the next year or two.
In the other words, most of KDE Applications 14.12 are bug fixes releases to KDE4.14.2 apps
Personnally, I am user of Plasma5 + KDE Applications from kde-beta repository by arojas. You have to know, that allmost all plasmoids for KDE4 aren't compatibille to Plasma5 platform.

CS6 is not listed in the available Apps in the CC Desktop.
Support wait time right now is 2 hours by phone.
After sitting on Chat yesterday only to see the people "waiting ahead of me" go from 17 to 18, I gave up.

I have downloaded 64 bits for Linux but it comes with jre/lib/i386 which to my understanding it is 32 bits jre.
any help please on how to install this application on ubuntu 12.4 64 bits.

OATS is not supported on Ubuntu only on OEL 5.2 and 4u8 both 64 bit

hi, it is not very difficult. I have done it this way :
1) i have set the following mime type in my web server (JRun 4):
text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor for the jad extension
application/java-archive for the jar extension
(in Jrun 4 i added them in the mime.types file in the lib directory)
2) i have published a wml page like this :

Anyhow I had to configure 1 wap profile and 1 java profile in my M50 according to my provider configuration, and I bet you had to do so if you have not yet done it. I have successfully used a gprs configuration.
I am in Italy an so I have the italian provider's configurations. If this may be usefull to you i may send it.

E61 and E90 and many others are S60 3rd Edition, you need to get applications or software that are designed for the S60 3rd, otherwise it wont work...
if you have Nokia PC Suite installed, all you need to do is connect your phone and just goto the sis file application that is already in your PC and double click on it, and PC Suite will install it for you, otherwise just copy the sis application directly to your memory card and open it on your phone, that will have basically the same effect... -

I installed Archlinux base 0.7.2, xorg, KDE base 3.5
There is less in KDE base than I thought. ( no filemanger, no tools, no terminal ) In fact it is an empty dektop with a few icons even without applications linked to these icons.
I installed a few more KDE packages with pacman, but these are

How to install MSFT application security updates in cab file format using DISM
Hi,
I tried to install security updates for MS Office which are cab files like any other windows security updates cab file. It is giving an error called "file not found". But other windows security updates cab files are installing fine without any error.
I tried to install these updates manually using DISM on commandline. It is not installing. I even tried using pkgmgr.exe, but that is not working either. I looked at DISM logs which is saying it failed opening the cab file. I tried different other commandline
options of DISM to install this, but nothing else is suitable for a cab file install.
Does anyone know how to install a cab file for application security updates via DISM.exe or other MSFT commandline tools?

How to install struts application in a real web server
I have a problem about installing my struts application into web server..

Thanks in Advance..Web servers like Apache or M$ IIS serve up static HTLM content. They don't handle Java servlets/JSPs by default. You need a servlet/JSP engine for that. Tomcat is one. All J2EE-compliant app servers have one, too (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, etc.)
If you're asking how to do it with Apache the answer is: bolt Tomcat on top of Apache. There are docs on the Tomcat site to tell you how to do that.

I want to install the Adobe Connect 8 Add-in which can be found under the following link.

As adobe stated on their website, this .deb file is for linux. Therefore I hope that this includes archlinux, too. So the question is how can I install binary package with the format .deb?

The better solution is to actually try things out, and learn while doing so. Nobody is going to just give you the right answer, that's not how the distro works. In the case of what you're trying to do, YMMV, so even more there'll be no 'right answer' to point you to. -

Well, I'm very new to this and I have lots of questions about Arch and I've been reading lots of forum posts and wiki articles.
Now,I've installed everything in the beginners guide with exception of a DE. And that's because I want to install kde 4.3rc even if the development id not complete yet. I want to install it from official repositories and not from kdemod.
I see there is a kde-unstable repo that I have to enable. But I kind of read that to use it I have to enable testing also and "know how to use it" And well, thats the problem about being new to Arch isn't it? I don't know how to use it nor there is some wiki article called testing.
So I have 2 questions:
How can I "use" testing repo? Are there guidelines to use it or maybe recommendations? I'm thinking about enabling that repo only for kde 4.3 and not for other packages, so, How do I do that?
And also, If I install kde 4.3rc now, whene it is moved to extra in a couple of days/weeks, how should I disable kde testing repo and enable extra again to keep my kde up to date? Will I need to reinstall everything when this happens?
Lol... Those where like 10 questions instead of 2... But maybe the answer is very small. I hope someone can give me some advice.

The file you want is at /etc/pacman.conf so use your editor of choice and open that file. So say I use the vi editor it would be >>>
vi /etc/pacman.conf
If the package you want is in testing uncomment testing repo.
If its at a custom repo put in the custom package repository info at bottom of that file.
Then use pacman -S "package-name" to install what you want.

I've been meaning to try KDE4.5 to see if it is any more to my liking then the previous versions of KDE 4.

Okay thanks that worked. I wasn't aware that the order in pacman.conf actually matter.
It does because the name of the app is the same (kde) it will pick it up from the first available repo that has the app/group named kde.

IPod Touch 4G White doesn't work on Sync Cable
When I try to sync or charge my iPod via sync cable, it doesn't work. My computer does not recognize my iPod. However, it works well when I use my universal iPod dock (using same sync cable). My concern is, the universal iPod dock is not that handy.
