How to install labview 6.1 in a primary hard disk not named "C:"

I try to install Labview 6.1 F.D.S in a computer under W2K where the system disk is "E:". When the setup program start to copy the file (Part 1 of 27), an error appear "Error 1327. Invalid Drive: C:\". I have tried to change the letter of the disk but it is impossible because it is the boot disk.
Is it possible to do this style of installation or not ?

After the liscence agreement there should be a destination folder.
This is where LabVIEW will be install just change it to where you
would like it installed.

You cannot go back to Windows option as it was overwritten with Linux parms.
I would suggest to re-install Windows Xp ,create a new partition and install Linux on it.
Its working for me with no issues.

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite P200-1EE series laptop running (of all things) Vista and nothing but problems ever since so im trying to install XP professional and overwrite Vista.
But whenever I try to install it says "hard disk not found..... unable to access"
I've heard of problems like this before something like a "software block protocol"

Well, the reason for this is because you need the SATA drivers before you can install Windows XP. As far as I know your notebook is equipped with an Intel chipset and so you need the Intel Storage Manager. You can integrate the drivers using an external FDD or nLite [www.nliteos.com]. iTunes doesn't have any automatic way of re-creating your directory structure in terms of folders and playlists in iTunes. You will have to drag each music folder to a playlist and then arrange these in folders inside of iTunes (which I warn you can can slow down iTunes a lot). I guess the once chance of speeding this up will be if somebody has written an Applescript to do it, but I don't remeber seeing any anywhere.

You want to move the iPhoto Library?
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

This might be a Windows 7 configuration. I tried "Run as administrator" or Run in Compatibility mode" the setup.exe file. Windows 7 does not allows to copy files in the System32 folder, so I can't install Labview.

Seems as though you're seeing something different than what I first thought.
LabVIEW should install to a drive other than "C" without trouble.

Specifically with regards to resetting the Windows installer with the following:
msiexec /unreg
msiexec /regserver
Other than that, I'm not sure what might be causing the problem you're seeing.

There is a different version for linux. the windows cd won´t do it.
a trial version seems not to be on the net, but you could ask ni to
send you a trial cd (if there is one for linux..). A full version definitly
exists but if you like to use daq, i would not recommend linux,
because there is only an (pretty poor) open source version for that
on the net. ni doesn´t support daq under linux.
the system of choice would therefore be unfortunally win or mac os x

This is a Microsoft Installer error code. It says that a database could not be created. I would suggest making sure you have tha latest version of the Microsoft Installer on the machine. Find the install program here.
Have you tried the CD on another machine? Another operating system? Have you tried copying the CD to the hard drive and running the set-up from there? These would be the things to try first.

This is pity but HDD can always start to malfunction and therefore its advisable to create a Recovery Disk before starting to use the notebook.
However, now you cannot create such recovery disk because the files are lost.
Now you have two options:
1) You can install the Windows 8 using Microsoft Win 8 disk (you will need to purchase Win 8 if you dont have it). The essential Toshiba drivers could be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page
2) The second option is much easier: you could order the Toshiba Recovery disk from this page http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx and could set the notebook back to the factory settings.

I travelled for a month, and didn't turn off my imac, which I thought I did. My country is hot at this time of the year.
When I got back home, I found that the desktop was crashed, so I did a restart and the computer never booted. I tried again and again.
I performed qa recovery boot, and using the utility I tried to do a disk repair. It initially found problems and started working on them. However, it always crashed in the process after many hours. After several repititions and a lot of research, I booted my iMac with a ubuntu live CD and the diagnoses it performed told me that:-
1- The hard disk will fail, and this is inevitable, something about S.M.A.R.T. (?).
2- There were HDD fan cooling thermal problem, and some read/write problems, and something third.
At this point, I recovered the 'User' folder that includes the desktop, my documents, pictures, etc, and seems ok to run on other O/s's.
I am willing to also retrieve the applications folder if possible, with all the programs.
I feel I need to replace my 1 TB hdd with a new one, but if I did, I have no clue how to install it. I do not have the installation CD's. I bought it installed, and then upgraded to snow leapord using iTunes.
If I found a shop to do the replacement of the HDD' how would I install Snow Leapord again? Is there any other advise?
