My eMac is:
eMac G4/1.25 (USB 2.0) with 2GB RAM

Most PPC Macs cannot boot OSX from USB, they need Firewire... that being said, out of 13 PPC Macs I had one that booted from USB Drives, including Flash Drives, it was my eMac/1.42GHz as a matter of fact, USB drives would show as a boot choice if I held the Option/alt key at bootup, (nowhere else), but It lost that ability when I reset the NVRAM.
The USB boot workaround that works for some is...
Connect the drive to your machine, and find out which partition the OS X system is installed on. I usually find this by going to Disk Utility and looking at the info for the partition on the USB disk with OS X. That is, disk2s3 is usually for a USB disk with no OS 9 drivers installed that is the second disk disk. disk3s9 might be a USB disk with OS 9 drivers that is considered the third disk. There are other ways of finding this out, but in my case, my disk is disk2s3 (the 3 on the end will come into play soon).
Start up the machine in Open Firmware (this is the fun part). Hold Command-Option-F-F right after the machine is turned on.
Here is the moment of truth. If this step does not work, I have had very limited success getting a machine to boot off USB2. In Open Firmware, type devalias, and you should get a list as output. In this list, look for ud, usually below where you see hd (ud is "USB Disk," I presume). If found, it will usually have beside it /pci@f2000000/usb@1/disk1, or something similar. Again, if you see this, I have not had this fail yet.
Now type printenv boot-device, which will usually get you output of boot-device hd:,\\:tbxi. (See where this is going yet?)
Type setenv boot-device ud:3,\\:tbxi where the number after the colon corresponds to that partition number we found in step two. You should get an ok back.
Type printenv boot-device, and you should see the change displayed already. Something like:
boot-device ud:3,\\:tbxi hd:,\\:tbxi"

You'd need to clone the Install Disc to a Flash Drive, or make a DMG of it then Restore it to the Flash drive.

You may find a better answer on the "G5" forum...but, I had no problem installing Leopard on my son-in-law's 2005 G5, 20" iMac. I don't understand why it won't load from the built in disk drive since this is the way I installed it.
Are you sure that the disk you're using in the basic Leopard OS? It should work.
Hopefully you'll solve your problem in the "G5" forum.

So i started the process to install yosemite, then i formated the hd and forgot that the installer was no more in applications because no more applications forlder!!! after the format it just allows me to install directly from app store which is taking 18 hours to download.

How did you even manage to start installing Yosemite? What operating system did you have before you upgraded? It wasn't Leopard, since you need Snow Leopard (10.6) to get to the App Store.

If you want to type Gujarati, you need to go to system preferences/international/input sources and check the box for Gujarati, plus the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar, plus the box for Keyboard Viewer. Then select Gujarati from the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type. To see which key does what, select Keyboard Viewer from the same menu.
I recommend you do NOT install Gujarati fonts from the internet, because OS X only works right with those provided by Apple. Especially avoid non-Unicode fonts from long ago like Saumil. The international standard is Unicode now.

I heard a rumour that I might not be able to install Leopard on my iMac G5 currently running fine on 10.3.9 Panther, at least, not before I install Tiger. Is this true? I had hoped I could just buy Leopard and install that. Surely I don't have to track down a copy of Tiger and install that first?
Only reason particularly for upgrade is have bought some new iPods and they won't work with Panther :-(!!
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

Just install Leopard directly. I suggest an Archive and Install and then migrate your stuff back. Many old apps and programs will not run with Leopard. Sherlock, to name one. Also be careful of your 3rd party apps. Some have been trouble.
Use SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner to make a full bootable backup of Panther and then test it by booting into it. You then have the best of both worlds - a dual-boot system with Panther and Leopard.
If you partition your external drive for Panther in a small partition and leave the rest for TimeMachine backups, you are really set.
I have my external TM drive with Tiger in a small partition. It boots and once and a while I run it to keep it from getting lonely

Can anyone tell me how to install Leopard from my intel macbook to my older ppc? When I try to install from firewire it says that the drive is going to GUID and non-bootable. My DVD drive on the PPC isn't good enough for the Leopard DVD. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm not commenting on whether the type of Mac is compatible with the Leopard install.
I'll offer suggestion for the firewire install. The objective is to take the Leopard DVD and transfer in some way to a firewire drive to be able to boot a PPC Mac and complete a Leopard install to the PPC Mac.
How? Take a firewire external drive and partition it in two. One for your data and the other (7.2 gigs) max, for the ability to restore the Leopard DVD to that smaller partition. Once restored you'll be able to boot(using system startup control panel) and install Leopard to a PPC Mac.
The rule to follow is to use APM ie Apple Partition Map to boot PPC Macs. GUID mapping is for intel Macs. You use options within Disk Utility ti select which way to go. You cannot have both on one firewire hard drive. I use two firewire hard drives: one APM and the other GUID.
How to setup the small partition? Connect firewire drive to your PPC Mac. Open disk utility. Create your two partitions(remember when you do this the drive is formatted and all data is gone, so backup first). Remember to use option and select APM, although on a PPC Mac it should be by default and ditto if on an intel Mac for GUID. Once the partitioning is complete, select Restore and while using the left hand column(just read the instruction in the disk utility window) and assuming you now have the Leopard DVD on the desktop , drag the install OSX section from the left hand column to "source" and then drag the Leopard small partition from the left hand column to "destination." Wait 20 minutes and you are completed. Now you can boot from the firewire drive and install Leopard to a PPC Mac.

You referenced that you had a iMac G5 model?
G5's are PowerPC CPUs and not Intel CPUs.
The Microsoft Silverlight software works with Intel chip Macs only.
And, if I am not mistaken, the software requires OS X 10.5.8 Leopard or greater to install.
So, you need both an Intel Mac with, at least, OS X 10.5.8 as minimum requirements.
Netflix will still not work on your Mac.

I recently was given an 15 inch iMac G4 with 256 MB RAM and 800 MHz processor and was running OS X 10.3.9. I upgraded the RAM to 512 MB and installed Leopard using a firewire connection with my MacBook. I can boot from the MacBook Leopard but the iMac will not boot or seem to find the Hard Drive. I can see the Hard Drive on my MacBook with Leopard installed on it. All I get on my iMac is a "finder" with a question mark. Is there any suggestions or tips about how I can get my iMac to run properly using Leopard????

You can't do it that way, because one Mac is Intel and the other is PowerPC. And it's not because the OS installation is different. It's because of something more obscure called the +partition map scheme+ of the hard drive.
For a drive to be bootable on a PowerPC Mac, the +partition map scheme+ needs to be +Apple Partition Map+. For an Intel Mac, it is called +GUID Partition Table+. An Intel Mac can actually boot a drive that is either +Apple Partition Map+ or +GUID Partition Table+; however, when you run Installer to do a Mac OS X installation, if you are using an Intel Mac (such as a MacBook) to run the installation, it will insist that the +partition map scheme+ of the drive is +GUID Partition Table+.
Therefore, because you used FireWire Target Disk Mode to run the installation from the MacBook targeting the iMac hard drive (as its external drive), the +partition map scheme+ ended up being +GUID Partition Table+. A PowerPC Mac that has Tiger or later can access a drive that is +GUID Partition Table+, but can only boot the drive if it is +Apple Partition Map+.
What you may be able to do instead, is the following.
Use the MacBook to install a fresh Leopard installation onto an external drive. Restart from it and run Software Update, and make sure it is working. Then restart from the MacBook's own drive again.
Connect the iMac using FireWire Target Disk Mode to the MacBook as you did before. Use the MacBook to erase the iMac's hard drive using Disk Utility. Instead of using the Erase tab, use the Partition tab. Reset the +Volume Scheme+ to *1 Partition*. Click the Options button, and select *Apple Partition Map* there as the +partition map scheme+. Back on the main window, name the volume and set the format to *Mac OS Extended (Journaled)*, and Apply it.
Now, you have the iMac's hard drive with the proper +partition map scheme+ and format. Use a cloning utility, such as Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper, to clone the fresh Leopard installation from the external drive to the iMac's hard drive. Since cloning is done at the volume level, not the drive level, you should get a bootable clone of the Leopard installation on a drive that can be booted by a PowerPC Mac.
Leopard is universal so I think the above method will work. However, there may be complications such as the proper drivers for an 800 MHz iMac G4 not being present in the Leopard installation, because Apple does not officially support that model with Leopard.
Note: To be legal, the Leopard license you are using must not be currently used on another Mac. If the MacBook is currently using that Leopard license, you should not do it for legal reasons.
