i have the logic 9 update but not the original CD of the older version. I also have the license and serial number, how can i still install it? cheers

I actually have the same problem, but have been unable to fix it. The Logic Pro Application version 9.0.0. is absolutely in Applications > Logic Pro (folder) > Logic Pro (with the application icon). No matter what I try I get the same error message that no elligible verision is there.
Solution? I also posted a new thread on this problem, and just found this discussion. Thanks.

I add the keyword 'sync' to any photos I want added to the iPhone/iPad.
Then, during the regular process of syncing the iPhone/iPad with my computer (mac), the photos with that keyword would be copied onto the iPhone, iPad.
I've been doing it this way ever since I was shown how to; ie after I got my iPhone 2 years ago. And every time the process worked - until the last few weeks. Suddenly it doesn't do it any more.
I believe I have upgraded software (either iTunes or iPhoto or both) during this period. I try to keep my software updated but have noticed previously that the new version often is disappointing.
I've not tended to use Smart albums much.

Click on iTunes and do comand Q. Be sure you are quitting iTunes to finish update and not just closing the screen.

The normal suggestions.
Close the app,off fully. Double tap the home screen then touch and hold any of the icons on the task bar until they jiggle, then close them all off by touching the - sign.
Then reboot the pad and try the spp again. If same issue, delete the app, then reload it. ( no charge). You may just have a bad copy. If continues, write to the developer, they may need to do an update. I have an older version of the same app and it works fine.
Since yours is the ad supported version, they are maing real sure you see the ad. Is it as simple as you need to click thru the ad to get to the game?

Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.

A client confronted me with the next question:
I have a map with 500 pdf's in it.
Is it possible to make a new file with only the first page of each pdf?
After that to make a new file with only the second page of each pdf?
And after that the third?
Etc.
Is that possible with an action?
Or are there scripts for?
I couldn't find them.
I use an iMac with Acrobat XI.
Any help is very welcome.

You can extract each page from each pdf as a seperate page. Once this is done you can select the pages tocombine.
You would have to write custom a custom JavaScript and programatically code the names to combine if the extracted file pages habvestandars naming that could be programed. There maybe some security coding you will have to do because of Adobe restrictions but this all documented in the Acrobat JavaScript Reference.

My model is the mid 2012 model. I am running the adobe collection for mac, I want to run the windows versions. Is it possible? What is the most ram I could access using something like fusion 5, assuming I could get fusion 5 to work? would it refuse to run because of the intel chipset and lack of video card?
If I'm wrong and there is a way to add a video card to this model, could some version of fusion and windows 7 access more than 2 gb operating ram?
What cost would I be incurring, and would it be cheaper to buy a windows laptop with more ram than I could access via a virtual machine?

No matter what apple says about wireless, there are decades of legacy work stored on optical discs all over the world, and I don't want to be unable to open something at a client's office because I don't have a dvd drive. Additionally, I have very large files I want to transfer via ethernet or firewire so that the transfer will take less time and be more secure than wifi. I resist apple's trend to make every machine a disposable toy that is viable only a year or so. I have read reviews that label the mbp it a poor value compared to the air. If all you need to do is text and communicate via wifi, many devices will sufice, and an air is certainly the most elegant. But what about the cost of large ssd's and protecting the drive against damage from shock? I want to be able to move this thing around and the small size is much safer inside my padded bag when I sit in narrow airplane seats, crowded trains and other congested spaces. I am much more likely to be able to borrow a large screen in a client's office ( with the use of one of the three adapters I had to buy) than to be able to borrow a dvd drive that has drivers for mac os 10.8.2. I suspect this may be the last generation of machines that have optical drives and ethernet, and that was why I purchased it so that I could continue to do work into the next few years. I am impressed by the retina display, but I need long battery life. And as beautiful as the retina display is, it is even more of a problem when trying to cross platform with the windows world. I wish I could infuence apple to do a trial product flow for a machine designed to work with 80% of the business world that uses windows. How spectacular that would be. With all their expertise and adept hardware design, to create a machine that cross platforms better than a windows machine itself works? Now that would be an accomplishment. Instead of 8 or 9 percent of the total computer sales, why not aim for a higher percentage? Smart devices will keep moving toward portable computers in power, anyway.

Fusion should work on your machine and if you put 16 GB of RAM in (see http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_160 0MHz_SDRAM), Fusion can access a good portion of that. Also, in a Virtual Machine, the guest OS is presented with Fusion's video card emulation, not what's in hardware on your Mac. Of course, finding Windows 7 now that Win 8 has been released could take some doing and the Win 8 Pro upgrade price is supposed to jump to $200 the end of the month. Add that to the price of Fusion and the extra RAM and you're beginning to get into the realm of low end real PC's.
As to cross platform, I assume you're aware of BootCamp (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461).

How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc

1a) Here is very useful article from PCWorld.com. The article is entitled "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" and means just what it says. The article also has links to Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder and legitimate Windows 7 ISOs from Digital River, a licensed distributor of Microsoft software. The article lists "Step 1" as;
"Find your Windows 7 product key: Typically this 25-character alphanumeric string is printed on a sticker affixed to your PC or on documentation included with your PC. Alternatively, you can use a keyfinder program such as Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder to pull your product key from the Registry. You need your product key to reinstall Windows."
1b) Using a key finder, however, is only useful if the Windows 7 product key was printed on a sticker (Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity) affixed to your PC, on documentation included with your PC, or sent via email by Microsoft. Assuming your computer came from one of the big brand computer manufacturers... HP, Sony, Dell, Gateway, etc... as most do, it uses a generic "mass activation" OEM SLP key. Trying to use this key by itself isn't going to work. This OEM SLP key needs to be mated with an OEM SLP certificate and an appropriate OEM BIOS with a proper SLIC table.
1c) Here is where ABR Beta With Windows 7 Support comes to the rescue. Follow the "How to use it" section of ABR for Windows Vista for information and instructions on how to use ABR. The steps listed for Vista apply to Windows 7 as well. Perform the "activation backup" to "backup" and save the OEM SLP key and OEM SLP certificate. Save the entire ABR folder to an external location for later use. This will allow you to pre-activate your "clean" Windows 7 install on the computer you pulled the key and certificate from.
1d) Now install Windows 7 from your new "Windows 7" disc or USB stick, following all prompts as needed. Don't enter a Windows 7 product key if request. Also, don't allow Windows to try to auto-activate. Once Windows is fully installed, run ABR "activation restore" to "restore" the previously backed up product key and certificate to the new Windows 7 install. Verify that Windows is activated, repeat "activation restore" if needed.
2) Here is another useful article, this time from SevenForums.com. This arcticle is entitled "Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7" and provides detailed steps required to backup your computer, audit current hardware and software, locate software and drivers, install and activate Windows 7, and create a Windows 7 Backup Image of your fresh install.

Before formatting the hard drive you should have been able to use the HP Recovery Manager to create your recovery discs or perform a system recovery. This is provided the recovery partition wasn't already corrupt or damaged. If the "D:" HP Recovery partition is missing or damaged and you don't have a set of HP Recovery Discs, you will need to use the information in my previous post to get your computer up and running again.
The information in the document referred you to applies to several different "types" of installations;
Using ABRbeta is only needed if you have an active OEM factory SLP (system locked preactivated) installation of Windows. You use ABR to pull the factory key and certificate off the computer, to reuse it on the same computer with a clean Windows install.
If you are just installing Windows and are going to use the Windows 7 product key on the COA on the side of your computer, all you need to do is download the same version of Windows that your key is for and burn the ISO. Now install Windows answering or following all prompts as needed (except do not enter the Windows product at this time... it will be entered later). Once Windows has completely installed, enter the key and activate it. Your Windows 7 OA key should work on a SP1 install without issue.
The only thing I see that could mess things up, is the language of the install. If you are still having trouble activating Windows, please reference the ISO you download and a post a photo of your Windows COA
with the key erased or Xed out.

The Time Capsule drive is a network drive. You have to mount it on the desktop before you will be able to drag/drop files onto the disk. More tips are in this thread:

The Time Capsule was designed for your backups.
If you move a file to the Time Capsule drive and delete the file from your Mac.....you have no backup.
Your only copy of the file will be on the Time Capsule drive. I would only do this with files that I could afford to lose.
All drives fail. When.....not if....the Time Capsule drive has a problem, you will lose your data.

You don't need to uninstall it, but you can drag the old application to the trash when you're sure you're through with it.
I hope you have the full Logic 8 - if you have bought the upgrade from 7 to 8 you would still need the XS key to install it.

The only disadvantage is, non database items may will be logged too.
This because i don't know a "clean" item property to find out, if a item is a database item.

I have an account hierarchy with multiple levels in it. Now I want to make an alternative hierarchy with only the leaf nodes of that hierarchy with using the same nodes. Can anyone please explain the steps how to do it.

Unless you have any special requirements it will be straight forward, get an export of all the leaf members in an action script format and execute the INSERT action on your alternate hierarchy, you can create your alternate hierarchy with only the TOP node and insert the leaf members under it, in case you have thousands of them, you can split them by introducing dummy parents, also if you wish to maintain any local properties, please have them updated accordingly.
