hi..
hope some can help me about below issue
1.how to install lsi megaraid manager on sun fire x4170 m2 running on oracle vm server 3.0.3 ?
sun fire x4170 m2 --> oracle vm server 3.0.3
sun fire x4170 m2 --> oracle linux 6.2 ( install lsi megaraid manager and able to open megaraid manager locally )
what i want is install megaraid manager or agent on oracle vm server , then i can use oracle linux with megaraid manager to ocntrol raid disk on oracle vm server 3.0.3 , i download the driver and software from my oracle support , unlucky not include oracle vm 3.0.3 .

Even when 32 bit Solution Manager was supported, it is very doubtful your laptop would have the required memory or diskspace to install and run the system. You can see the system requirements in the SAP installation guides.

Failed to install solaris on new "Sun Fire V100"

Hi All,
I'm new to solaris. I have a new server Sun Fire v100. Just after power on the server I got a following message on the console screen
*" No memory Detected! Cannot proceed further !!!"*
Actually I want to install solaris 10 update 4 on this server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That system may be new for you, but Sun stopped selling them in March 2006.
Now, as for the "No memory Detected" message ?
There are four DIMM slots on the systemboard.
Make sure they actually have RAM installed to them.

How to install window manager: awesome ? package not found

hello,
i have installed arch linux from: archlinux-2010.05-core-dual.iso.
Base installation.
i made a system update
# pakman -Syu
# packman -S base-devel
[comunity] is enabled in /etc/pacman.conf
but if i try
# pakman -S awesome
i get
error: 'awesome' could not find or read package
what did i wrong ?

How to Install Windows Management Framework 4.0 on Server 2008R2 Core

I am trying to upgrade Server 2008R2 Core to PowerShell 4. I have carried out following steps.
1. Installed .NET Framework 4.5.1 (NDP451-KB2858728-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU)
2. Enabled WoW64-ServerCore, WoW64-NetFx2-Support, WoW64-NetFx2, WoW64-PowerShell
3. Installed Windows Management Framework 4.0 (Windows6.1-KB2819745-x64.msu)
WMF installation shows that it was successful ("Windows update "Update for Windows (KB2819745)" was successfully installed.")
However when I restart the server following shows up on the event log ("Package KB2819745 failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0xd00000bb.")
This same process work on Server 2008R2 full version.
Has anyone seen this before?

The .NET Framework 4.5 and its point release is supported in the Server Core Role with 2008R2 SP1 or later, could you try to install SP1 then try again.

On Sun fire v490 - Solaris 10 with Oracle 8.1.7.4 & Sybase 12.0

We are going to upgrade our server with this configuration -
Sun Fire V490     2 x 1.05 GHz UltraSPARC IV CPU
8096MB RAM     2 x73GB local disk
2x FC 2GB Sun/QLogic HBAs
DAT72
On one machine we will have Sun Solaris v10 with
Oracle DB v8.1.7.4 & Second one will be Sun Solaris v10 with Sybase DB v12.0.0.6.
Now our question is - Sun fire have Hyper-thread CPUs �� will the O/S and databases (Oracle and Sybase) view the proposed system as a true 4 CPU platform? Will parameters used to tune the database such as Sybase max online engines still operate in the same manner as before?
Our old machine configuration was - Sun E450     4x400MHz CPU     1024MB RAM     2 x18; 8x36GB disks

The topic of tuning Oracle or Solaris is way beyond the scope of this forum, I have attempted to go into it before but didn't get any feedback and I would only like to spend lots of time on it if I was being paid!!! On the memory side, keep in mind that Oracle 9i 64-bit can address a maximum of 2 ^ 64 ( 16777216 TB ) memory, prior to that the DBA had to define memory parameters in init.ora. To be honest the last time I worked with a Oracle 8 database I shut a HP K class server down permanently that had been migrated to Oracle 9i on Solaris by an Oracle consultant and I can't remember all the tuning trick etc.

Why do you want to update the BIOS?!
Do you have any big troubles with your notebook?!
The Toshiba European driver page provides BIOS for XP and BIOS for Vista.
Both BIOS versions must be executed while the operating system is running!
If you use the Linux on your notebook, you will be not able to update the BIOS!!!
Do you understand?
Once again; The BIOS update should be done ONLY if its absolutely necessary. In other case dont update it!

Hi Folks, I'm new on SAP and getting problems to install SAP Best Practices Baseline Package PT V1.603. It asked me some dependencies and for download them it goes to the Approval List, means waiting for approval so to approve them to download i need to do it trough Solution manager and i don't have it on my SAP. When i go to the transaction dswp it shows nothing.
How can i install the Solution Manager to be able to download the dependencies for my BP.

then in 'Downloads' section go to 'SAP Installations & Upgrades', click on 'Installations and Upgrades - Entry by Application Group'
In entry 'SAP APPLICATION COMPONENTS' you ll find 'SAP Solution Manager'. There you ll find Installation Guides for Solman
All you need is there !
You ll also need the DVDs; they are downloadable on service.sap.com in the Software Distribution Center

I have installed JDeveloper 11g and as you know it also installs an embedded Weblogic and creates a Weblogic domain. This domain by default has the console application but does not have the em application. How can I add em to my integrated Weblogic?

I can give you the quick steps for installing EM into the WLS container integrated with JDev:
1). Download from OTN two pieces of software from the Fusion Middleware 11g (use the "For Deployment" software, click "See All"): the Application Development Runtime, and (under Additional Required Software) the Repository Creation Utility (RCU).
2). Unzip the RCU and run bin/rcu.bat or bin/rcu (windows/*nix). Create the MDS repository in an Oracle DB using this utility.
3). Install the application development runtime into the same home you installed JDeveloper.
4). Run the configuration wizard - on Windows its in the start menu / Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.1.0 / Weblogic Server 11gR1 / Tools. Find it yourself on *nix ;)
5). Choose to extend a domain
6). Pick your DefaultDomain directory for the integrated WLS
7). Tick the checkbox to add enterprise manager
8). Supply the database connection information for the DB in which you created the repository in step 2.
Ta-da!
The EM will be accessible via http://hostname:7001/em, username/password=weblogic/weblogic1. I will caution you about generically installing into the integrated domain - it makes your WLS take noticeably longer to start up...
