How to install NWDS Patch?

Hi Experts,
I'm just new to the NWDS Editor.
My NWDS version is 7.0.15.
I wanted to upgrate to SP 17.
So I downloaded JIDE17_0-10003480.SAR.
Can you please help me how to install this patch?
Should I extract it? And where should I put the file(s)?
The files inside it are:
plugin.properties
plugin.xml
lib\jstartup.jar
lib\jstartupapi.jar
lib\jstartupimpl.jar
Thank you in advance,
Jemaru

Hi,
the NWDS updating mechanism functions as follows:
on 640/700 you just download the corresponding SAR file, and after extracting it using the SAPCAR tool (example: SAPCAR -xvf JIDE17_0-10003480.SAR) you'll find the corresponding installer exe inside the J2EE-RUN-CD folder.
If you execute it, it'll replace your current installation with the new one. It is not necessary to remove the old installation, and there's no other way to have it updated. There's no specific patching mechanism, you install the entire NWDS as it is.
as of 710 you use the update site mechanism. This means, you can download a zip file which includes an installer after extraction. This is only the eclipse framework. If you finished with the instllation, either it automatically suggests to connect to the update site (in order to enhance your NWDS framework with SAP specific plugins) or if this does not happen (and this behaviour depends on the release you have) you can trigger this update using the NWDS menu (Help -- Find and Install... -- Software Updates). Only after this you will have a fully installed NWDS.
Best Regards,
Ervin (SAP)

    Hi John,
    Thanks for the reply.
    JIDE17_0-10003480.SAR is just 470 MB.
And it is supposedly just to be a patch for upgrade to NWDS SP17.
When I extract it, there is no exe file there:

    plugin.xml

  • How to install a patch from local JAR file...

    Newbie question -
I'm getting an error when deploying an MDB on WL 10.0 - someone else had also come across that same error and he sent me a patch (CR326377_10GA.jar) that should fix it.
How do I install that patch on my local WinXP installation of WL - do I just add an entry to the CLASSPATH of the startweblogic.bat file? I'm a little concenred about the order of JARs there... is there a better way?!
I tried looking up this patch using the Smart Update utility - but I could not find it there - how do I do it manually?
    thanks,

I believe you can contact support and get a patch id and passcode for this
patch and then install using smart update.
StartWeblogic.cmd will also look for a weblogic_patch.jar in the patch
    directory. I.e. something like
    d:\BEA10\patch_wls100\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar
Cut/paste the directory from the output of startweblogic.cmd and then create
the directory and copy the patch to the right filename.
Or you can put the patch before any other jars in the classpath.

  • How to install a patch on remaining ISE servers

    Hello,
I have a cluster of ISE servers in version 1.1.4. I patched it with Patch 4.
Then, I added more ISE servers in version 1.1.4. How to I patch these new servers to Patch 4 ? In the status page, it displays correctly that some servers have the patch installed while the new ones do not have it installed. But I don't find the way do install the patch on the remaining server ?
Can anyone tell me how to proceed ?
    Thanks,
    David

If you need to install the patch on one or more secondary nodes, ensure that the nodes are up and repeat the process from Step 1 to install the patch on the remaining nodes.
Please go through the link for the installation steps and form the page 119.

    Hello Subash,
Thanks for the reply. I have gone throught the blog. here is a quote from the blog you sent meu2026
"When we made tests with the installtion package we noticed that there is a problem when SAPGui/SAPLogon is still running. Is there a possibility to kill any GUI/Logon Process on start of the installation?"
It appears that it is saying there are issues when the SAP GUI is running.  I believe they are saying that the package should kill the SAP GUI prior to installing the patch.  Am I reading it correctly?
If that is the case we could get in trouble if we just kill someone SAP connection. Please advise...

    SQL> @%ORACLE_HOME%\appsutil\admin\adgrants_nt.sql APPLSYS
    ERROR:
    ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
Does anyone know how I can install the ad_grants on windows server??
    Best regards,
    Remc0
Here below, some more detailed info:
Run the adgrants.sql script as a user that can connect as SYSDBA to grant privileges to selected SYS objects and create PL/SQL profiler objects.
    Usage:
    1. Create $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin on the database server.
    2. copy adgrants_nt.sql (Windows) from this patch directory to
    %ORACLE_HOME%\appsutil\admin.
    3. Set the environment to point to ORACLE_HOME on the database server. ---> I did this with the Oracle Universal Installer. I just put the database ORACLE_HOME on top and used set ORACLE_HOME=O:\VIS\db\tech_st\10.2.0
    4. Use SQL*Plus to run the script:
    Windows:
    C:\> sqlplus /nolog
    SQL> connect sys/manager@VIS as sysdba.
SQL> @%ORACLE_HOME%\appsutil\admin\adgrants_nt.sql APPLSYS ---> this will result in SP2-0310: unable to open file "$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin/adgrants_nt.sql"

    Remc0,
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>set ORACLE_HOME=O:\VIS\db\tech_st\10.2.0Set ORACLE_SID is addition to ORACLE_HOME (set ORACLE_SID=VIS), and you should be able to connect to SQL*Plus and run the script.
Instead of setting ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID manually, source the database env file (<CONTEXT_NAME>.cmd under %RDBMS_ORACLE_HOME) and try to run the script again.

    Hussein

GumasYou need to apply the patch driver u3944888.drv using adpatch like any other patch.
Just make sure you apply all the patches under "Prerequisite Updates" before applying the patch.

  • How to install Patch 14503114

I am trying to install Oracle patch 14503114 using Windows Server 2008R2.  I am running Oracle 11g R2.  I tried to go by the readme.txt but its not working.  Does anyone know how to install oracle patches using opatch?
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

The instructions for that patch are generic, so unfortunately he is looking at the right ones.
The options I can think of are: 1) set the environment variables or 2) add the opatch location to your path variable.
