How to install OAM/OAAM against existing populated database

We have to install OAM and OAAM against existing populated database. Is it feasible? What all keystores and files we need to copy from one weblogic domain to another?

The installation has initially been done on standalone weblogic and now we need to convert this installation to weblogic cluster. As OIAM 11gR2 is not supported direct conversion of standalone weblogic to cluster weblogic, we are trying to go through this route. Thanks

How to install RAC for a exist single database

Hi Friends,
We will install RAC for exist single Oracle10GR4 in 32 bit window 2003 server
DOes any experts have experience for build a RAC for exist 10GDB?
So we only need to install Oracle Clusterware and does not need to install DB.
Just configured RAC.

Please specify what are the software i need to down load and how to install these software in sequential manner.

1. do i need to create another user at the os level. Not necessarily, you can either use applmgr user (the owner of the application tier files) or create a new one.
2. shall i need to install this application server 10g with new user or with root user can i install the software. Please see the installation manual.

Select the version and click on View Library then you will find "Oracle Application Server Installation Guides" under the Setting Started tab.
3. After installing this software AS 10.1.0.2. In the document they mentioned that apply the 10.1.3 patch set.( i am not clear about this patch set, is it mandatory to apply this patch set).Yes

I'm not sure of the meaning of ORA-00900 for Oracle XE but I think that PL/SQL is already installed by default according to the XE features list.

How to Install emacs, openssh and start oracle database and get a connect?

As suggested by another poster, I installed the prebuilt appliance at [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/community/developer-vm/index.html] and [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/virtualbox/downloads/index.html] with the intent of running oracle database in a linux vm as a guest on windows 7 and connecting to it using JDBC from the windows host.
This is running but I don't know how to install other stuff. I tried "sudo yum install openssh" and "sudo yum install emacs" and "sudo service sshd status" and none of these worked (it could not find these packages). I could not get apt-get or app-get or aptget to work either. I was hoping that "uname -a" would tell me if this was fedora or debian or something else but no luck. What command do I use to learn the distro name?
How do I make ifconfig tell me what the ip address so I can use "scp" and "ssh" to get into the box? Ok, /sbin/ifconfig works and I see there is only a loopback address. Ack! How do I create a socket so I can ssh into this little beastie?
How do I disable the firewall or (better yet) punch holes in it so I get use JDBC and ssh, scp and samba from windows 7?
I tried firing up the SQL Developer 3.1 and getting a test connection with username and password of "oracle" with no luck. How do I get a test connection to work?
How do I determine if the database is running? If not, how do I start it and stop it and restart it?

There is no "oracle" account native to the database itself. This is just the default account that owns the application. Log on as oracle/oracle to the OS. (OEL) You can change the passwords of the sys and system account by setting your $ORACLE_HOME and $ORACLE_SID. Default SID is orcl on a database install. Also set a path to the oracle binaries in the form of $ORACLE_HOME/bin.
Then sqlplus / as sysdba
Change passwords of sys and system using the following example.
ALTER USER SYS IDENTIFIED BY [password];
ALTER USER SYSTEM IDENTIFIED BY [password];
The supplied appliance runs oracle enterpirse linux. Not debain or fedora.
Why do you need "emacs"?
I haven't personally load this appliance with Virtual Box but there has to be a readme file somewhere that details all the passwords and etc.

As you and https//msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190209.aspx instructed, I tried to attach the AdventureWorks2012_Data.mdf file (Using SQL Server Management Studio) to my Databses. After I did Steps 1 & 2, (in Step 3) I clicked on
Add, and tried to locate the AdventureWorks2012_Data.mdf file in my C:/Users/e1enxshc/Downloads folder: this mdf file was not there in the "Select the file" box!!!??? I am pretty sure that mdf file has been downloaded into that "Downloads"
folder. I am lost completely. Please kindly help, advise me what it is going wrong in my "Attach" the mdf file to my Databases of SQLEXPRESS, and respond.

P.S. I moved the AdventureWorks2012_Data.mdf file to my C:\Temp folder and did the "Add" again. It located the mdf file. I added the AdventureWorks as the name of Database in SQLEXPRESS, then I clicked Add. I got the following fatalerror:
Failed to retrieve data for this request. (Micosoft....)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: mICROSOFT sql sERVER, eRROR:5123).

so everything will end up in the right place in this directory.

How to install OEM agent into existing OEM DB Console

Hey gurus
A default OEM was created during 10G database creation.
Plan to setup central monitoring by using OEM in separate host.
Understand an agent need to be either push or install in the target that want to monitor. However, the existing dbconsole has been installed in each individual db during db creation.
How can the central OEM able to monitor other database on on other servers ?
Pls advise.

How to install odm in the existing database

I need to reinstall my odm schema in 10.1.0.3, how can I do it? I dropped user dmsys, but I do not known, which scripts im $OH/dm/admin directory should be started to install new repository? I reviewed some of this scripts and I have seen, that:
1. catdm.sql is running as ODM, catodm.sql and catodm1.sql as DMSYS. Which is the right owner of the repository?
2. some of the scripts should be started as user sys and make 'alter session set current schema = "DMSYS". But if the user dmsys does not exist, the script continues to create all dm objects in the sys schema - strange! You should catch this error.

Since ODM 10.1.0.3 is part of RDBMS 10.1.0.3 patchset release, the supported way to apply ODM 10.1.0.3 is to reinstall ODM 10.1.0.2 via ~dm/admin/dminst.sql, then run ~dm/admin/odmpatch.sql to apply ODM 10.1.0.3.

How to install time machine to existing wifi

I previously used my time machine for wifi and backup then switched to ISP provided router/modem (upon their request after months of poor reception) I know want to connect my time machine to this wifi to continue with regular backups. Its plugged into to the router/modem and have green light but is not showing in airport utility. How do I properly install this or is it not recommend. I'm guessing the other option would be to connect directly to my iMac.

I am trying to avoid having you reset the Time Capsule and start all over.
Make sure that the iMac is the only device connected to the Time Capsule. There should be no other Ethernet cables connected to the Time Capsule at this time, other than the iMac connection.
Power off both the iMac and Time Capsule, wait a minute, then start up the iMac for a minute, then start up the Time Capsule and let it run a minute.
Try again with AirPort Utility. Click the Other WiFi Devices tab in AirPort Utility to see if there is an option there for Ethernet. If yes, click on Ethernet.
See if AirPort Utility can see the Time Capsule now.
