How to Install OBIEE and BIP on a machine with Windows XP ?

Hi,
I am very new to OBIEE and want to learn it by myself.
Can I install OBIEE and BI Publisher on my home PC with Windows XP ? Can I install client and server on the same PC?
If no, what are the other options ?

Thanks for the link, but I am referring the same to install OBIEE.
The pre-requisites section says :
Client operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
- Microsoft Windows 2003 Professional with Service Pack 1 or later (32-bit only)
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 or later
Server operating systems:
- For Oracle BI Server: Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4/2003 Server
Thats why I wonder if I can install client and server on the same machine with Windows XP ?

No you cannot do that. You need a physical machine that supports Hyper-V

How to install all the drivers for the MacBook with Windows 7 or 8 without the disk from OSX Lion? Where can I find the drivers?

Guys, a have one big problem..My customer brought me a macbook with windows 7 installed to do a format and reinstallation, but she is no longer the OSX Lion, and do not know how to install the sound drivers, "touchpad", among other drivers, how to solve this? Where can I find the drivers? The MacBook is now with Windows 8 installed.

For NT here are the steps.
First you install 817 database say in home orahome1. Your database should be up and runningbefore insatlling iAS
See that you pagesize(swapfile) is >= 500MB
Then install iAS in a different home. iAs 10220 will list two homes (default is 806 and iSuites)
Give the required parameters when prompted.

The program is already written...Wow, that was fast! :)
In that case, search for how to create executable jar files. You can distribute your whole program in a single .jar, which can be double clicked to run it. If you want, you can look into some of the tools that convert .jars to .exes or creating a windows .bat file to launch the program.

I have oracle8.1.6 release 2 installed on microsocft windows 98. How do I installed forms 6i on the same machine. when I installed forms6i, it has overwritten the resgistry settings and I cannot run database any more. Please give me some ideas how to install all these on the same machine on windows 98 , operating system DOS.

You have to install Forms6i on a different Oracle_Home not Default_Home, which I believe is where you installed Oracle8i.

Trying to install a setup on a 64 bit machine with Windows server 2012 R2 which writes to registry FAILES

My msi is a 32 bit setup.
When I install it on a 32 bit machine with Windows XP it works fine .
I tried to install it on a 64 bit machine with windows server 2008 and it succeeds
While running my setup on a 64 bit machine with Windows server 2012 R2 it failes and I get the folloawing message:
"Registry object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Then the setup exits and leaves the app partially installed
I tried searching for known problems over the net, but found nothing
I will be happy to get some advice

Sounds like you are trying to update a registry object that is not there.
Is this your own msi, or is it from a third party application? If third party, check with them to see if they support it on 2012 or if they have a known workaround.
If it is your own msi, sounds like it is time to debug it.

Hello all, I have just started using labview and would like to run the "SVXMPL_Third Octave Analysis for Multiprocesor" example as an example for multithread programming, but I run into the issue that the "Sound and Vibration" toolkit is required before running the example. I have installed the labview 8.5. I have gone through the posed link and gone through the list of products installed in my machine (ControlPanel>Add and Remove Programs> National Instruments Software), but I couldn't find the "sound and vibration toolkit". I have tried to run the installation setup in order to add the toolkit. it looks like I have already installed all the available software. I don't know how I should install the toolkit. I am facing a problem while installing Forms 6i. The following are the details.
I successfully installed Oracle 9i first under F:\oracle\ora90. While installing Forms 6i, I selected the "Typical" and gave the path as "F:\oracle\ora90" and clicked on the Next Button. Immediately I got an error message as "The location specified, 'F:\oracle\ora90' is already used as an Oracle home for 'Oracle 82 Beta'. It cannot be used as an Oracle home for 'nt'".
Could any one give the information of how to install forms and reports 6i. It ll be of great help to me.

How to install XI and EP on same server. I tried to install XI then EP . After EP installed then iam not able to access XI j2ee engine . I think some where port conflicts . I gave system number for XI : 00 and EP : 02

Hi Kristene,
I have installed XI and EP on the same server (for test purposes) without any problems, so it should be possible. I installed them in a different order (first EP then XI), but I don't think that matters much.
The only real difference is that I kept the system number the same.
What do you mean exactly with not being able to access the XI j2ee engine? How did you try to access it?
