How to install only iDVD from a start up disc

I was trying to make a slideshow in iPhoto and burn the slideshow to a DVD in order to play it on a DVD player at my nephew's Eagle Scout Court of Honor.  I have OS X Lion 10.7.5 and have just realized that my system no longer has iDVD!   My sister has a mac mini OS version 10.4.7 and still has her install discs.  Can I install only iDVD onto my laptop from her start up disc and will iDVD be compatible with my OS?  I am not sure how to burn a DVD of this slideshow otherwise.  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am at my wits end!  Thank you.

would iLife 11 be okay for that?
Yes.  iLife 11 includes themes for iDVD 6 and iDVD 7 so you'll have a number to choose from.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • How to install only Garageband from OS 10.6 install discs?

Hi. I recently got a new Mac with OS 10.6.2. • How to install only iMovie from oringinal install discs?

Hi.I recently got a new Mac running 10.6 and Rosetta. Since I have lots of 3rd party plug-ins that I used with iMovie 5........I would like to install just iMovie 5. I have the original install discs for 10.2 as well as upgrade install discs for 10.4. I'm wondering which disc iMovie 5 is on (the dics are not labeled very well-they dont say which disc includes iLife software) and how to I go about only installing it? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the info.........looks like Pacifist may be what I need to select only iMovie 5 from the Disc. Would you happen to know which disc I would find iMovie 5 on? I have the 2 OS 10.2 discs(1&2)
and two 10.4 upgrade discs(1&2). I suppose I could just pop each one in and see what happens.........but I'm a bit worried in case the disc tries to install the compleat older OS over top my newer OS before I can stop it.I've tried looking in the supplemental info that came with the discs.....but still can't find any info about which disc iLife is found on.Wish they would label the discs clearly.

  • HT1338 how do I remove files from my start up disc ?

You can find the answer by clicking the  in the top right of your screen, clicking 'About This Mac'  | More Info... and finally 'Storage'.

  • How to install only Roxio CD Burner Program from the Recovery CDs?

I bought a T400 a few weeks ago in Korea.
But my company uses English, so I had to install a Windows XP English version.
However, at that time I lost the Roxio software.
I have the recovery CDs for T400 Windows XP PRO SP2.
If it is possible, then please let me know how to install only Roxio CD Burner Programs from the Recovery CDs.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
unfortunately it´s not possible to install just one program from recovery cd´s.
But on Lenovo support pages, there you should find your software and applications.
Please visit with IE and let autodetect your system.
Then you should able to choose which type of software is availible for you.
    Choose CD and DVD drives.
Hopefully the T400 department is up to date now.

  • Installing Only Dreamweaver from CS3 Premium

I have CS3 Design Premium. When I tried to install it, Dreamweaver never installed. I called for support and it was determined my disc was corrupt. I've received the disc, and now I don't know how to install ONLY Dreamweaver. This happened last year, and I never got around to installing it, and now that I need to, it's not supported.
Can anybody assist me with this?
    Thanks in advance!

When I put in the application disk, I click on "Adobe CS3 Design Premium" (my other options are read me, Adobe Reader 8 and Adobe Solutions Network). It runs through a system check and says "It cannot be installed because it conflicts with: Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium". I can only cancel out of this screen.
When I put in the content disk, my choices are Read Me, Documentation, and Goodies. Under Goodies there is an Adobe Dreamweaver folder, and from there it goes - Migrating from GoLive - GL2DW - and then several safari "read me" safari links.
I never see a choice to do a custom install.

  • How can i disable imessage from automatically starting up when i turn on macbook air?

how can i disable imessage from automatically starting up when i turn on macbook air? i dont know my imessages to pop up on my laptop when it turns on. But i dont want to disable imessage totally on my macbook.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, check that Messages is closed when you turn off your MacBook. This is so important because, by default, OS X will reopen all opened apps the next time you start your Mac.
Apart from that, when you go to  > Shut Down, or  > Restart, in the window you see to restart or turn off your MacBook, unmark "Reopen windows when logging back in". This will avoid that your Mac opens all opened apps the next time you start the MacBook, so Messages won't start automatically at startup

Itunes automatically turns on when the computer is powered up, but Itunes is not in the startup folder.
How do I stop Itunes from auto starting?

10 minutes later: iTunes will not startup if the iPod is not plugged in upon boot up. If the system sees the iPod plugged in upon boot, then system will start. This seems to be done with the help of iTuneshelper.exe and /or iPodService.exe. if you don’t want iTunes to start automatically when the system boots do not have your iPod plugged in. if you want to be able to keep the iPod plugged in then you are going to have to msconfig at the start run command and stop the iTuneshelper.exe in the startup service area. This should stop the iTunes from starting up when the unit is plugged in and you are booting up. Sorry for the long sentences but thats a possiable fix, enjoy.

  • How to install Windows 7 from a USB drive!

This is even easier than installing Windows XP from a USB drive, and will also reduce the time taken to install Windows 7, it took me about 15 minutes!
The advice in the guide is also applicable to installing Vista.
    You need basically:
a USB flash drive at least 4GB in size
    a Windows 7 DVD
    To sum up:
Format your USB drive, with the NTFS filesystem
Open Command Prompt as an administrator, and run the Bootsect.exe program off the Windows 7 CD to make the USB drive bootable
Copy the contents of the Windows 7 DVD to the USB drive
Restart your PC, press F11 (or whichever key it is) to access the Boot menu, and select your USB drive to boot from

I have done this and it is simple.
I cleaned and (re)formated an 8GB flash drive under Windows7 using diskpart.  I chose quick format and a fat filesystem.  It doesn't need to be ntfs.  I had diskpart mark the partition active.  I copied the DVD contents to the flash drive.  I also made a folder on it for motherboard drivers.
After that, I booted the drive on a new machine.  Windows7 setup came up, and didn't find any hard drives, other than the USB flash drive.  I clicked the button to load drivers, and pointed it to the folder I had copied them to on the flash.  Windows installed without problems.
Hi bnborg..Do u mind sharing with me your motherboard driver folder? I have the MSI U135DX Netbook and each time I hit the button to install Windows 7 it asks me for some mobo driver...Think i might need it to get tru with a successful install..
