How to install OPA on tomcat 6.0

Hi All
I am new to OPA, need your help in installing OPA 10.2 for tomcat. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Simi

If you don't have an existing project, you can unzip and use one of the example projects located at C:\Program Files\Oracle\Policy Modeling\examples (assuming you've installed OPA to the default directory).
Note that the SocialServicesScreening example project has been configured with a non-standard look and feel.

  • How to install JSTL with Tomcat 6.0

    Hi
I'm trying to install JSTL with tomcat 6.0.
I did not understand what is the link that I need to use in the following suns website.
    http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/jstl/.
Could anyone help me with this.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
First you need to add the JSTL jars(jstl-api-x.x.jar and jstl-impl-x.x.jar) to the lib dir under your WEB-INF tomcat dir and then, to use it on a JSP page make sure the follwing line is added before the <HTML> tag.
<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>There you go. Just enjoy it now.

  • How to install webgate on tomcat with solaris 10 AMD 64bits?

    Hi Experts
I need to install a webgate on the webserver tomcat, but i found that installation is not possible because thes is not webgate for tomcat, many people recommended install a reverse proxy with Apache or OHS but i can't find a webgate installer on Solaris 10 AMD 64bits.
Exists that version of webgate? or exist a workaround??
    what is your suggestion??

Choose the Webserver and the WebGate from the OAM support matix.
If OAM does not have WebGate for the platform where you have tomcat installed, if it is an option, you can install a webserver and WebGate on any OAM supported OS and configure Reverse Proxy. WebGate does not need to be on the same server/machine or on same platform.

  • Installing Log4J in Tomcat and using JDBC to log errors

Has anyone figured out how to install Log4J in Tomcat and use the Log4J JDBC functionality?
    I have log4j.jar in CATALINA_HOME/common/lib.
    I also have log4j.properties is in CATALINA_HOME/common/classes
Then when I start Tomcat I get the following error:
[main] DEBUG org.apache.commons.digester.Digester - addRuleSet() with no namespace URI
is it something to do w/ the log4j.properties file? do i have to use a xml format or is it ok to use .properties format?
    -Karthik

I would say you have something wrong in your log4j properties file.
properties format is fine, but I suspect something in there is not quite right.
Try starting with a simple example one, see if it works, and then try adding your own config based on that one.
    Good luck,

  • How to install Oracle Process Automation  for Mobile

    Hi
I want to install Oracle Process Automation components for Mobile.
I have downloaded the V20466-01.Zip file from Oracle Website, i dont find any setup file to intall OPA.
Please let me know how to install OPA( i already installed Oracle Process Modeling).
    Thanks.

There's no installation for OPA runtime components. For the OPA 10.1 .NET package (V20466-01) you need to decide which components you wish to deploy and then follow the corresponding section in the installation guide.
As we don't provide any Windows Mobile applications, the process would be to develop your own .NET Compact Framework application, referencing the mobile determinations engine and it's dependancies, and then deploy that application as you would normally deploy a Windows Mobile application.

  • How to  install PDK 6.0  within Tomcat ?

I am a beginner.I read this in an article
"Java developers who don't have immediate access to a full SAP Enterprise Portal (EP) implementation can also use the PDK to deploy and test their iViews"
    If this is true
My question is : After downloading the PDK 6.0 (.epa)
How do I install it within Tomcat?
I installed it by dropping it in Tomcat's webapp dir,
but it complained that it was not a .war file.
I plan to use Eclipse to develop Java Iviews.
I do not have access to EP or WAS
    Another developer wrote
"To install PDK you should have EP installed in your WAS".
Which of these comments is true?

    Hi Babbi,
the EPA file is a Business package for a EP 6.0 portal.
You use the import functionality to do that.
Tomcat was used as a PDK WebServer for EP 5.0. It is not working with EP 6.0.
If you want to have access to a WAS or EP (which runs on WAS) take a look to the Preview version here on SDN.
It is free available and works for at least 90 days after installation. You should take a look to the requirements first before you download the whole package....

  • How to install Tomcat?

    Hi every body,
i am reading (Addison Wesly) The java Web Services tutorial.pdf,
i have tried to fellow (Getting Started Wth Tomcat) in this tutorial but i colud not ,
so any one can help me, in the order to run the examples of web application section on Tomcat.
how to set up WSDP, J2SEsdk,Tomcat and adding bin directories of the Java WSDP and J2SE SDK installation to the front of PATH environment variable so that the Java WSDP startup scripts for Tomcat overrides other intstallations

I agree with everything that yawmark stated about being able to learn and start Java EE-based web development without needing to work with Web Services. I especially agree that focus on servlets and Java Server Pages is where to start learning about Java EE-based web development. However, if you really want to start with web services, you might check out a page like [Installing Java WSDP|http://www.isy.vcu.edu/mthomas/jsp/info451/tomcat-jwsdp-FAQ.html]. You might also check through the documentation that came with your version of Tomcat that you downloaded to see if it talks about how to install [Java WSDP|http://java.sun.com/webservices/downloads/previous/webservicespack.jsp] with that version of Tomcat. You might also consider using GlassFish with its integrated web services support instead of Tomcat if you really want to play with web services. See the [Java EE 5 Web Tutorial|http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/] [Chapter 2 The Web Tier|http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/bnadp.html].

    2) Modify httpd.conf of the A.W.S, append the following line to it:
    include TOMCAT_HOME/conf/mod_jk.conf-auto
    3) Start Apache W.S first, then restart Tomcat.
It's simple and hope this works!

    Hi Pat,
You can get the guides and Installtion guides from this
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/
    You can download the from
    .subscribenet.com
you can enter the user name and password then you can download the Business Objects software that can be download.
"By trying to download - Query as a Webservice i saw there were with sequences 1-3. Which one should i donwload? "
Sequence 1-3 you will have to download all the 3 as it can be part 1 part 2 and part 3.
Tomcat .If you are installing for the first time it will automatically install tomcat and JDK if you are connected to the net while installing Business Objects.

  • How to install the SAP Java Connector

    Hi,
I am unsure how to install the SAP Java Connector on Linux (Suse Linux Enterprise 10). The SAP Integration Kit install and admin guide says:
    ===
u2022 Copy the librfccm library and the libsapjcorfc library to busines
    sobjects_root/enterprise120/PLATFORM_PATH, where busines
sobjects_root is the full path to your businessobjects directory,
and PLATFORM_PATH is your platform. For example, PLATFORM_PATH
is solaris_sparc for an installation on Solaris.
u2022 Use symbolic links for the location of the librfccm library and the lib
    sapjcorfc library.
u2022 Add the location of the librfccm library and the libsapjcorfc library
    to the library path.
    ===
Do I have to do all 3 steps or is the 1st one (copying of files) enough?
On the other hand, the SAP Java Connector guide says:
    ===
Then add {sapjco-install-path} to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.
Finally, add {sapjco-install-path}/sapjco.jar to your CLASSPATH environment variable.
    ===
    So, what to do?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your help. So i copied the 2 files as mentioned in point 1.
Where do I have to copy the file sapjco.jar to? There is no shared lib folder after installing BO Edge 3.1 on a Linux system.
I copied the sapjco.jar to /bobje/tomcat/common/lib but still get the message that the Java Connector files are not in the correct directory.
    I already copied the files librfccm.so and libsapjcorfc.so to /bobje/enterprise120/linux_x86 .
    Thanks again!
Edit: problem solved: Copying the sapjco.so to tomcat/shared/lib is correct, if the directory doesn't exist then just create it (mkdir). The message is just plain information 7 hint.

copy all the .jar files that are present in the lib folder of the struts kit to the "\common\lib" folder of

Note that in Environment Variable CLASSPATH must be specified to lib folder of the tomcat than only these files will work
Now copy the "struts-blank-1.3.8.war" file from the "apps" directory that will contain many ".war" files to "\webapps" folder
    of tomcat.
now shutdown and then restart the tomcat webserver, now in the "webapps" folder u can see a folder as "struts-blank-1.3.8"
now open Internet Explorer or any other Web Browser that ur using and type in

Friends this mite be useful for all the beginners.. as i am a beginner so i know the problems that can come to start..

  • How to install Soap on the (Apache) Oracle HTTP Server

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to install SOAP on the Oracle HTTP Server? I downloaded a soap version (it seems that the standard version comes without SOAP) from the xml.apache.org site and followed the installation instructions as far as I could (only Tomcat is described). However, no 'soaping'!!! Maybe I'm overlooking something because I cannot imagine that it should be difficult.
    Thanks in advance!
    Hans

Hans, the SOAP implementation is part of OC4J. You get it out of the box. Check out how to use the out-of-the-box implementation in the tutorials on Web services with Oracle9i JDeveloper at:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/content.html
These tutorials/samples use the implementation of SOAP/WSDL that Oracle calls J2EE Web Services and this is the long term direction of Oracle's Web services implementation. This implementation is what Oracle will be evolving to Sun's Java Web Services Developer Pack as it finalizes into J2EE 1.4.
If you want to use Oracle/Apache SOAP, this too is included in OC4J but its support is being deprecated in future releases of Oracle9iAS in favour of the J2EE Web Services implementation. To find it, check out the OC4J/soap/webapps/ directory for the soap.ear file (it is in a slightly different spot if you are using the full Oracle9iAS R2 but still within the soap directory structure. Simply add <application name="soap" path="../../../soap/webapps/soap.ear" auto-start="true"/> to your OC4J server.xml and <web-app application="soap" name="soap" root="/soap" /> to your OC4J http-web-site.xml, re-start and away you go.
Finally, just to be sure, SOAP support in Oracle9iAS did not appear until 1.0.2.2.x and higher. If using 1.0.2.1 or less, you are correct, there is no SOAP support.
    Mike.
Most folks that try out the J2EE Web Services find it is pretty easy to use so
