How to install Oracle Application Testing Suite on ubuntu 12.4 64 bits?

Hi Guys,
I am trying to install Oracle Application Testing Suite on ubuntu 12.4 64 bits, I have downloaded the application (Oracle Application Testing Suite 12.1.0.1.0 - Complete Install ) from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/app-test/index-084446.html, unzipped the zip file and then did sh setup.sh and I got this error:

  • Minimum system requirements for installing Oracle Application Testing Suite

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what are the minimum system requirements for intalling Oracle Application Testing Suite?
    Thanks in Advance

    From the release notes (12.1.0.2).
    System Requirements
Oracle Application Testing Suite has the following system requirements:
    4
    3.1 Oracle Functional Testing/OpenScript
Oracle Functional Testing’s OpenScript scripting platform has the following system
    requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008
    ■ Memory: Minimum 1 GB
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 4 GB minimum
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x., 9.x and Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    3.2 Oracle Load Testing
Oracle Load Testing has the following system requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2. Oracle Enterprise
    Linux 5.1, 5.2 64, 4u8.
    ■ Memory: Minimum 2 GB.
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 10 GB minimum free (at least 3 GB free on the system drive)
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    ■ Database: Oracle EE 10g or 11g, XE 10g
    ■ Application Server: Oracle WebLogic 11g (10.3.5.0). Oracle Application Testing
Suite requires the standard WebLogic Server installation (which includes jrocket
jdk.). It does not support generic versions of WebLogic Server installation (such as
    those that use wls1035_generic.jar).
    ■ Oracle Load Testing Agent also supported on Linux 32-bit & 64-bit, in addition to
Windows 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems listed above
Note: These are minimum requirements only and actual
requirements for the Oracle Load Testing Server will vary depending
on the size and configuration of your load test. If you are running
larger load tests, of greater than 1000 Virtual Users, you should
consider deploying Oracle Load Testing on a faster server class
    machine with additional RAM recommended.
Note: Oracle recommends running the Oracle Load Testing Server
and Agents on separate systems for production load testing. The
amount of memory required on the Oracle Load Testing Agent
systems may increase based on the number of Virtual Users that will
be assigned to run on each Agent. For more information, visit the
QA/Testing Technology Center on Oracle Technology Network or
    contact your Oracle representative.
    5
    3.3 Oracle Test Manager
Oracle Test Manager has the following system requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2. Oracle Enterprise
    Linux 5.1, 5.2, 4u8.
    ■ Memory: Minimum 2 GB.
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 10 GB minimum free (at least 3 GB free on the system drive)
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    ■ Database: Oracle EE 10g or 11g, XE 10g
    ■ Application Server: Oracle WebLogic 11g (10.3.5.0). Oracle Application Testing
Suite requires the standard WebLogic Server installation (which includes jrocket
jdk.). It does not support generic versions of WebLogic Server installation (such as
    those that use wls1035_generic.jar).
    3.4 Additional Notes
The following are additional notes about system requirements:
    ■ The ATS installer can automatically install and configure an Oracle 10g Express
Edition (XE) database for use with Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test Manager.
Although this is useful for demos, for production usage switching to Oracle's 11g
Enterprise Edition database is highly recommended. Oracle 11g Standard Edition
and Oracle 10g EE or SE are also supported.
    ■ System memory requirements do not take into account other processes that may
be running and using memory on your system, reducing free uncommitted
    memory available.
    ■ When installed on the same machine, Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test
Manager will run on the same server and use shared system resources. Oracle
Functional Test/OpenScript is a separate application that have its own memory
    and CPU requirements.
    ■ The ATS products will run in 32-bit compatibility mode when installed on 64-bit
operating systems. It is possible for Oracle Application Testing Suite to be installed
on an existing WebLogic server. However, if the pre-installed WebLogic server is
JRockit plus WebLogic (64-bit) environment, some functions in Oracle Application
Testing Suite will not work properly. Oracle Application Testing Suite can be
    installed on a 32-bit WebLogic, but not a 64-bit.
    ■ The legacy Oracle Functional Testing, VB-based scripting platform and associated
components (such as Job Scheduler) are no longer included with the ATS installer
Note: These are minimum requirements only and actual
requirements for Oracle Test Manager will vary depending on the
quantity of test assets stored and number of concurrent users
accessing the application. If you have a large quantity of test cases,
requirements or issues stored and/or are deploying Oracle Test
Manager for a team greater than 10 users, you should consider
deploying Oracle Test Manager on a faster server class machine with
    additional RAM recommended.

  • Issue with Oracle Application testing Suite

    Hi Experts,
I am new to Oracle Application testing suite.I am trying to record a flow from oracle Store inventory management application.
But when there is a pop up for entering login and pasword the flow fails with "invalid user id and password".
But when the same is tried manually I am able to login without any issue.
What could be issue ? is there any setting issue ?
Can someone help me with this issue ?
    Regards
    prash

I'm new to Oracle Testing Suite so im unsure of exactly how to get the desired results. If an ORA error message is displayed on the screen i want to make the page fail. So is there a way of making the test fail if certain text is present on the screen?
Secondly i want to create a script that recognises a change has happened to the application (such as a link takes the user to a different page than expected when the script was created) and fail.
Do you have any idea on how to achieve this
    Thanks

I have a similar problem with the OATS v9.20 installation. I did manage to install it on our main load generator (running Windows 2003 Server) but when it came to installing OpenScript on my laptop (XP SP3) the install 'hangs' at 78%.
I did raise a support call with Oracle about this (there was a bug report generated) but the case is still open.
I've been waiting to hear when the next version was due (in the hope that this might have been resolved) but by the sounds of it there could still be an issue on WinXP with v9.21?
For reference I originally logged this with the following in the description:
The installation looks like it is failing because of a double backslash in a path ending "OATS920\\bin\copyOUI.bat". We then get an error in javaw.exe which when OK'ed then stops the installation at the stage "creating 'Uninstall Oracle Application Testing Suite' in folder 'Oracle Application Testing Suite' ".

  • Unable to start Oracle Application Testing Suite Application service

    Hi ,
I have installed OATS 9.1 successfully on my machine , but there is some problem in starting Oracle Application Testing Suite Application Service .
I am not able to access Oracle Test Manager , when i start the service manually it gives "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" error message .
Is there any explicit setting required after installation to start the service .
Please help me to get out of this problem .
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Is the Oracle XE service running? Did the database install go OK? Is there anything in the log files in c:\oracleats\logs to give us a hint - check out wls_oats.log and others in this location.

  • Need help on Oracle Application Testing Suite

    Hi,
I need help on accessing one script into another script in OATS like the way we access methods of one class into another class in Java. I have created 2 scripts (when i do recording they created as a projects in open script editor), now i want to use my first script in second script.

  • Scripting in Oracle Application testing Suite

    Hello Ashish,
The option for including and running VB scripts has been removed from OATS8.5 and higher versions. So I wanted to know if I could use Java Scripts instead.
If I use Java Scripts how do I integrate it with my Visual scripts in Oracle Application Testing Suite.
    Thanks
    Ashok Kumar

OpenScript is all Java, so if you use JavaScript, there's little difference other than a few syntatical items. For e-Tester, switching to Javascript is easy. It's only available in the Scriptlets. Go to Options>Settings Manager>Global (or Workspace or script). Type into the Filtered field "lang" and you'll find ScriptLanguage setting. Double click and change to JavaScript. Click outside of it and click the OK button to save the setting.
All Test Scriptlets can now use Javascript via OFT..

  • How to install Oracle Applications on Fedora Core 6?

I am trying to install Oracle Applications on Fedora Core 6. But when i start rapidinstall it is showing the error as permission denied eventhough all permissions are correct. I tried this with singleuser and multiuser also.
Is it possible to install Oracle Applications on Fedora Core 6?

It is probably best to stick with Red Hat AS/ES 3.0/4.0, Oracle Linux 4.0, or SLES9/Suse9/10 for installing Oracle Applications. Even if you could install it on FC 6, it is likely it would break, and be very difficult to get it working again.
Here are the RH 4 prerequisites:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES 4.0*      Legacy Software Development package and X Software Development package
Note: Select these packages from the Package Group Selection screen. If the operating system is already installed, use System Settings > Add/Remove Applications to install these two packages.
The following components will be installed automatically:
    compat-db-4.1.25-9
    compat-gcc-32-3.2.3-47.3
    compat-gcc-32-c++-3.2.3-47.3
    compat-oracle-rhel4-1.0-5
    compat-libcwait-2.0-2
    compat-libgcc-296-2.96-132.7.2
    compat-libstdc++-296-2.96-132.7.2
    compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.3
    xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-devel-6.8.1-23.EL
    xorg-x11-deprecated-libs-6.8.1-23.EL
The following required component must be installed manually:
    openmotif-2.1.30-x
Note: For information on downloading the openmotif component, see the instructions at the following URL: https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2 005-412.html

  • What is oracle application testing suit

    hi
    any one explain to me
what is the operation of oracle functional testing?
what is the operation of oracle load testing?
what is the operation of oracle test manager?
    raju

Oracle Functional Testing (OFT) is a legacy product for creation of automated testing scripts (for both functional and load tests).
NOTE: It has been replaced by OpenScript (probably best to only use OpenScript these days as OFT is due to be dropped soon).
Oracle Load Testing is the platform that runs load tests created in OpenScript (and OFT) for a given number of Virtual Users.
Oracle Test Manager is for managing the execution/results from such tests (we don't actually use this so I can't comment much further)

  • Installing Oracle Application Server 10g 101202 on Windows 2008 64 bit

    Hi All,
what i need to do is install this software like this:
installing Oracle Infrastructure to handel Sessions as db for oracle forms & reports
install Oracle Forms & Reports Service as Middle-Tire on the same machine in defirent home
configure my report server as i require it to work with rdf files in spechial folders
i have done this installation more than i can remember in Windows 2003 R2 SP2 32 bit
but for Windows Server 2008 i am facing some problem that there is no software avilable for 64 bit or Windows 2008 in Oracle Download Site
Spechilaly when my server is not itanum !
Can any one point me to the right download page if avilable or another solution for this problem
i don't think that oracle have stopped support for this product spechilaly when the reports generated by Oracle Report Service is far to good and fast with Oracle Database
    Best Regards
    Ibrahim

    Hi Ibrahim,
You should decide what you require.
32bit version can be installed on 64bit server and this should work fine (check the certification matrix for this).
The "problem" is that you would not gain any performance benefit from the 64bit server
If you want to have benefit you can upgrade the JVM to 64 bit version.
I did this 3 years ago and I do not remember exact steps though everything worked OK.
    WARNING:
this  can be unsupported, ask support to be sure
    - Install the 32 bit version on the server
    - Download 64 bit Java JRE/JDK and install it (well, you can search the same release as included in the AppServer or try newer one, 7 for example)
    - later, reconfigure the appserver so it uses the version you've installed, OR Copy the everything from c:\progfiles\java\... to the directory OraHome\... (forgot exact directories)
try to search the forum, there had been a thread with the same question
