I see. Sorry. I didn't understand what you were asking.
The way that you decide to update is up to you. I plan updating via WiFI myself and not use iTunes. You have the choice. If you decide to update with iTunes, you may want to temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software until the update completes. But you can update over WiFi if you want to do so.
Remember that millions of people world wide will want to update their devices and the servers may be very busy today.

  • How to Install 11.5.10 on Win XP

Since most of the posting on this forum is about Oracle Apps installation problems , I decided to share with you how I installed 11.5.10 on XP – first time, with no errors!
It’s frustrating to begin with, but the trick is to do it step by step making sure you get one step right before going on to the next . I found that if you miss one step or get it wrong the whole thing goes wrong – more important – do not proceed with the installation if you get any error on the rapid wiz validation – make sure you deal with any errors and you get all ‘green checks/ticks’ . I’d say it you do this and if you remember to do point 8 below – you should get a ‘perfect’ install - first time, no disk formatting etc.
The whole thing took about 6 hours – about 2 for the prep and about 4 for the actual install to run.
Ok, here goes – first my environment. I actually installed it on my ‘low spec’ laptop – Win XP, 80 GB, Intel Celeron CPU 2.80 GHz, 1 GB RAM , so it should work on anything with a higher spec.
Prep: Stage the CDs. One change with 11.5.10 worth mentioning is that Oracle in their wisdom has made the CD staging easier. The CD are now DVDs and if you download Active perl from perl.com , you should find that most of the staging are done for you – all you need to do is pop in the cds when it asks for it.
    Here are the steps –
    1. I installed MKS toolkit . Make sure your installed directory is C:\MKS
    2. I installed VC++ 6 from Microsoft Visual Studio CD to c:\MVS . Make sure the other defaults to C:\VC98 – this is important! After installing, I then copied the link.exe file from the C:\VC98\Bin folder to c:\winnt\system32 folder .
    3. I downloaded make-3.79.1. Extracted it to C:\. You should now have a c:\ make-3.79.1 folder. Look in this folder for the build_w32.bat file …double click on it and it should run for about a minute. You might have to do this twice for it to work .( At one point it was looking for
link.exe – see point 2 above , you might want to restart your machine).
If it runs successfully , look in the WinRel folder for gnumake.exe and copy it to c:\MKS\mksnt folder
    4. I downloaded jdk1.3.1_09 from http://java.sun.com
Installed it to c:\jdk13 . Make sure there is no "." in the directory name . I also Set Classpath = .; in the environment variable and also added the c:\jdk13\bin to the PATH variable.
    5. I made an entry 127.0.0.1 lacalhost.streed.com. Just opened c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file , and copied the ‘127.0.0.1 localhost ‘ line , pasted below it and added the. streed.com to the second line like this
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    127.0.0.1 localhost.streed.com
    6. Go to Network - > Local Area Connection -> right click Properties -> click TCP/IP properties -> advanced -> click DNS tab -> enter DNS suffix for this connection as your domain (streed.com)
    7. I ran rapidwiz , used all the settings generated above, make sure you change the c:\mksnt to c:\mks\mksnt .Also , it you install on a 80gb laptop like I did , you might have to go for Prod and not Vis because of file space .
    8. VERY IMPORTANT! DON’T FORGET TO DO THIS!!! - During Step 4 of 5 , go to the jserv.properties file and change the "wrapper.bin" to whatever it is to wrapper.bin =c:\jdk13\jre\bin\java.exe !!!!
This is what I did to get a ‘perfect’ install – no errors during or after the installation . If I’ve missed anything here take a look at other posts on this forum for 11.5.9 . It’s exactly the same for 11.5.10 .
    Hope this helps!
    Steve Reed

Looks like you guys are talking about installation of PROD environment. Did anyone tried Apps 11i10 with VIS ?
I am running into problem here. In step 4 of 5, the system hangs at "Completed unzip 1229 of 1236". On investigaqtion, I found that the unzipping of file "_pages40.zip" is causing problem. When I tried to manually unzip it, I found that many of the files within this zip is still password protected and hence the file is unable to unzip and system just hangs there.
Does any of you know the passwords here. Any help in this regard will be really appreciated.
And hey, the jsdk 1.4 is now coming along with the Apps installation files and you do not have to install it seperately for 11i10 ver. The apps intallation do that itself.

  • How To Install Gallium Nine + DRI3 + Patched Wine ?

I have AMD A8-6410 APU and games with wine works fine using 9 plus dri3. When I was using Kubuntu, Installing it was pretty easy with PPA.
Now I am using Arch and I want to use 9+dri3 and patched wine to play games again, but I don't know how to do it.
I did some research and did learn to use yaourt. However, I didn't find any non-obsolete 9+dri3 package.
I want to know, how can i build packages using Pkgbuild ? I found pkgbuilds from https://github.com/brettlyons/pkgbuilds-nine and i would like to build it from source if no package is available in AUR.
Is there any package in AUR which makes it easy to install 9+dri3 and patched wine without messing too much ?
If not, please tell me how can i use pkgbuild files of https://github.com/brettlyons/pkgbuilds-nine to build and install.
PS : Apologies if I sound noob. Kinda new in Archlinux and Linux world too. Thank you.

    Welcome to Arch
First, uninstall yaourt and learn how to use the AUR. This will save you a lot of trouble later on and will help you to understand how to use a PKGBUILD to create a package. Read the following wiki articles to get acquainted with building packages, the AUR and the ABS:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ar … Repository
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Build_System
Once you understand this and did it a few times, you can go back to yaourt or another AUR helper.
Now, for your actual question: Do some more research. I can't find nine (is this a DirectX driver for linux or something?), but dri3 is available in the official repos. Patched wine might be available in the AUR, but otherwise you'll have to write your own PKGBUILD or use the linked one. Also take a look ate the wiki page of wine.

  • How to install AHCI driver during a Win XP install?

    Hello,
I want to dual-boot my 990FXA-GD65 board into Win XP 32bit and Win 7 64bit, but I want my SATA disks to use AHCI. I want to install XP first.
However this board doesn't seem to support a floppy drive so I can't load AHCI drivers with F6.
There are several guides on the web for doing this with Intel chipsets, but not for AMD.
Can anyone advise me how to do this with my board and its chipset?.
    Thank you.

Have you tried putting the files on a usb drive?
Using WinToFlash, I copied the slipstreamed XP install CD to a bootable USB key. However, I get exactly the same 'amd_sata.sys is corrupt' message while the install is loading drivers. I tried this with the BIOS SATA mode, first as AHCI, and then IDE, with the same result.

Not sure if this will work with xp, try it and let me know.
I haven't tried this, but reading the m$ download page carefully says to me that this is a tool to allow the install of W7 only from a USB key.
The reference to XP seems to me to be saying that you can run the tool on an XP machine, not that you can use the tool to install XP.
When I tried to download the Image API utility (I am running on an XP machine), I couldn't  get Genuine.exe to run, so I can't try it anyway.
So, where do I go from here, anyone?
Is it worth trying to use an AMD driver, instead of the MSI one?
Also, my BIOS is at v19.3 - should I change to 19.7?

  • How to install Oracle8i on solaris9

    Hi Everyone...
Could you help me please about the Installation of Oracle8 (8.1.7) on Sun (sparc) solaris9 operating system. Tell me in detail "How can I install oracle on sun system" Please help.
    Mohammed Tanvir Alam
    Email: [email protected]

    Detail eh? So demanding ;-)
First off, do you have Oracle to install from? If not, you can get it from www.oracle.com. (Some license restrictions apply ;)
Before you run the installer, be sure to set up your system file. You need to add entries into your /etc/system file like so:
    set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=524288000
    set shmsys:shminfo_shmmin=1
    set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni=100
    set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg=10
    set semsys:seminfo_semmni=100
    set semsys:seminfo_semmsl=110
    set semsys:seminfo_semmns=830
    set semsys:seminfo_semopm=100
    set semsys:seminfo_semvmx=32767
The first line you might wan to cut in half if you say, only have 524 MB of ram. If you have less then that, well I hope you can figure out the correlation. Once you add those to your /etc/system, you will need to reboot.
Once you've done that, then you'll probably want to create an "oracle" user and group, so that you can use that user to install oracle as. The install is "really easy" after this. Give it a try and post any probs you have!

  • How to install servlet and jsp on win xp?

I am new in jsp and servlets. I would like to follow some jsp books and examples. The j2eesdk-1_4-dr-windows-eval.exe is already installed on my computer. I can write and run java codes. I downloaded the jsp-2_1-edr-api.zip file from http://java.sun.com. I extracted and moved to dir:\Sun\AppServer\ folder. When I search, I cannot see any jsp.jar file as some documents say, nor servlet.jar. How can I install jsp and servlet on windows xp? Any help? I will be very grateful.

For starters, you would probably have better luck getting an answer on the general Java forums, since this a very general question- it is hard to see how this is specific to the Web Application Framework technology, except of course that it uses JSP and servlets naturally,
But to try to help you here, more information is needed: from exactly where are you do\wnloading the file jsp-2_1-edr-api.zip and what is the product title of this file? I ask this since a general search of sun.com returns no evidence of the existence of this file.
Also, what documents are being referred to here?
    Thanks

  • How to install the plug-in for SQLServer 2000

    Hello, All,
I am installing Oracle Migration workbench (10.1.0.4.0), want to migration data from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle. I downloaded omwb.zip file and sqlserver2k.zip plug-in. I put the plug-in in “plugins” folder during the installation, renamed it as SQLSERVER2K.JAR, and unzip it there, the unzip process generated two folders: META-INF and Oracle. There is a MANIFEST.MF file in META-INF folder, and in oracle folder, several small folders folder with a lot of .class files. I started the OMWB.BAT file in bin folder, I still get the error information: “No okugubs are installed. Please install…. “.
I tried many times, including rebooted the machine and restarted the OMWB.bat ifle, but still got the same error message. It should be a simple problem, but I just can't install OMWB becasue of the plug-ins problem.
Could anyone who installed the OMWB before and know how to solved the plug-in problems help me?
I am thinking: do I need to put all of the .class files in the folders into the “plugins” folder directly?
Thank you very much for your help.

    you should
    1- Download Omwb.zip & MySQL4.zip from Migration WorkBench WebSite
2- Unzip Omwb.zip (suppose it is unziped in C:\omwb)
    3- Copy MySQL4.zip to C:\omwb\plugins and rename to MySQL4.jar
    4- Execute C:\omwb\omwb.bat for WorkBench
    Good Luck
