How to install os x tiger on iMac G3 ? Help ?

Hello,
I have a new powerbook g4 and July 2001 iMac G3. I dont have firewire cable and network configured. Is there any way to install os x tiger (from powerbook install cds) o this old imac ? I have created dmg file from first DVD but it say "this software cannot be installed ...." ?
Please can anybody help me.
And one more thing, on imac there is jaguar installation

How to instal iMovie6 in my new iMAC

What is the best way to install iMovie6 to my new iMac that is on it's way...I read so much about how no one likes the new iMovie8. So should I use firewire and transfer it or should I use the disc? The reason I ask is because I have so many plugins in iMovie6 and it would be faster to use firewire. But then someone said it might knock out iMovie8. So another question would be should I rename iMovie6 before I transfer it to the new machine? Someone told me that adding iMovie6 to the new iMac may knock out iMove8.If I use the disc should I re-name iMovie8 first? Or would it be better to use the iLife6 disc to the new machine.

Ellyn, while both of the previous solutions offered would get you iMovie 06 on your computer, they wouldn't get you all of your plug ins, and other documents currently on your existing mac.
When your new computer arrives, and before you start it up the first time, position it next to you existing mac. Connect the two with a firewire cable. Restart your old mac while holding down the T key. This will eventually produce a firewire logo on the screen of your old mac. When you see the logo you can let go of the T key. You haven't hurt your old mac or lost any info. You're starting it in TARGET mode to allow the new computer to transfer all of your old files when you boot it for the first time.
Now you can turn on your new iMac. It will go through a start up process and will ask you if you want to copy your old files from an existing mac. Click yes (or ok) and there ya go. It will take about 15 minutes to copy your files over, maybe longer if you have a lot.
But all of your existing software installs, documents, passwords, layout, and desktop preferences will be copied over. You can then set it up differently if you like.
This way, all of your plug ins, and you're existing iMovie preferences will transfer and be ready to go with your new computer.

Are you using one of the newer iMac's with no DVD drive? If so, you can either get an external CD/DVD drive (any make - doesn't have to be Apple) or, if you have another Mac on the same network that has a CD/DVD drive you may be able to do it by turning on 'DVD or CD Sharing' on that Mac (System Preferences>Sharing). Miradouro you can copy the files on a computer which does have an optical drive to a USB drive. You can then install from the USB drive.
Alternately you can download a fresh copy of the installation files at Download CS6 products.

I don't know all the differences, but iirc, the Graphics card is a big diff.

You can't. iMac's cannot be serviced by the user.
You can send it off to have it done, or perhaps Apple will do it, but you don't get what you want and you pay a lot.
Also you can have only 1 internal storage and the 7,200 RPM is fast enough for that older model, you won't see much of a difference with SSD as you don't have the SATA for it.
Rather backup your files off the machine, Zero Erase your drive and reinstall 10.6 fresh, it will be fast again if you keep your drive below 50% and not more than 75% filled.
another method is to clone, then option boot off the clone, erase with Zero and then reverse clone,

How to Install 9.2.2 on iMac with Jaguar on it....

I have an iMac with Jaguar on it. I need to install 9.2.2 but cannot remember the correct procedure. I do have a retail 9.2 disc from Apple.
Do I startup from 9 cd and choose clean install? Will that erase my current OSX operating system and everything from the hard drive?
I do have the jaguar discs - do i need to go back to those and install something about classic from those?

I believe a regular install would place OS9 nicely on the disk without wiping OSX; however, I'd wait to get a few more opinions from the gurus here before proceeding. I've always stuck OS9 in its own partition but that's not a convenient option for you at this point.
How large is your hard drive and how much space is available? There is a requirement on some Macs that OS9 fall with the first 8GB of the volume to which it's installed. I don't know if it affects the tray-loading iMacs but there is an Apple Knowledge Base article somewhere (still looking) that addresses this.
For OS9 to be bootable, you must have OS9 drivers on the hard drive. If you only need OS9 to support the OSX Classic application that emulates OS9, not having the drivers isn't an issue.
