How to install Package UTL_NLA?

Hello,
i've installed Oracle Database 10G R2 (10.2.0.1) with the Data Mining Option turned on. But i can't find die Package UTL_NLA nor can i use functions like UTL_NLA_ARRAY_DBL.
I didn't find anything in the internet how to install the UTL_NLA package. Please Help.
Best Regards
Tien-dung Nguyen

Hello,
As far as I know you don't need to do anything to install the UTL_NLA package. The package should be part of the normal installation of the DB.
I don't know if you are aware, but there is a data mining specific forum where questions related to analytics usually answered quite promptly.
Finally, you may want to check out this post on using UTL_NLA:

  • How to install packages from local folder

    Hi all,
I have downloaded all arch linux packages from the following URLs:
    ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/core/os/i686/
    ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/extra/os/i686/
    ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/community/os/i686/
and then have saved them to an external hard disk. Then I have attached that external hard disk to my system and packages are available in following folders:
    /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Core-OS/
    /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Extra-OS-1/
    /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Extra-OS-2/
    /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Community-OS-1/
    /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Community-OS-2/
    /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Community-OS-3/
Now I want to install some or all packages from these folder with the help of pacman command. I am seeing that package corresponding to wvdial command is available in the /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Extra-OS-1/ folder. But how to use pacman command so that I can install wvdial package from that folder?
In addition to this if I want to install ALL Extra Packages available in the folders /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Extra-OS-1/ and /mnt/external_hd/Arch_Linux/Extra-OS-2/ then how to execute the pacman command?
Please send me step by step instructions so that I shall be able to install some or all downloaded packages.
I shall remain thankful for this forever.

    Hi fukawi2,
Thanks for reply and searching for my username on google. It is true that I am a freelance s/w developer but I am not installing Arch Linux for any client. I am installing it due to some other reasons. In fact I started working on Red Hat and then on Fedora when I was a student of bachelor degree course in computer applications. Then later I searched open suse and started using it. I am using open suse from its 10.1 version. However the recent version of this distribution has become much resource consuming. So I am in the need of a light weight linux distribution. And I encountered Arch Linux. Then I purchased its installation disk from an online shop and installed it on my system. But only text mode is working at this moment. Since I want to use X window and so I started to follow the syntax of pacman command. But it is connecting to internet. Since my internet connection is slow (average speed of 10kbps) and so I requested the same online shop to download all packages from Arch Linux repository and send them to me. Therefore now I am having all those packages in my local external hard disk drive in the folder mentioned in my first post. Now I want to install packages from these folder. And so in order to get help I have come to this forum.
I have also followed the steps given on the pages https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … l_commands and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … repository. But when I am trying to install a particular package using the following command:
    pacman -U wvdial
then it is asking for a dependency. I know that  the dependent package in my local folder but why it is not being automatically taken by pacman command? Can you please explain it.
That is why I am asking help only for customization and usages of pacman in order to install packages from local folder. But each member in this forum is only referring to long written manuals and not giving me exact solution which I think will involve four/five steps.

  • How to install packages on client via VPN

    Hello
I have a number of users that use laptops and mostly connect to the office network via an OSX VPN Server. I can see when they connect, copy files to them and control their screens.
I do not seem to be able to install packages to them. The ARD console goes through the motions but the package never gets to the remote end and is never installed.
Can anyone shed any light on this? From what I can tell this may be a multicast issue - if this is true how can I get the VPN server to route the multicast traffic, or alternatively how can I stop ARD from using multicast for these clients?
Any help appreciated. If I can not use the package installation system it will make managing these users quite difficult.
    Kind regards
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
Have you found anything else that can't be done or is acting strangely using ARD with those connecting via VPN? Another question that comes to mind is the up and down speed of both your office's connection to the net and that of the clients connecting in. You said that you can copy files to them--does that work with large files as well? Have you tried copying the install package rather than installing it to see if that works?
I ask all of this because I've found in my support role with VPN clients, that viewing/controlling the screen, copying small files, chats, and alerts all work fine. But a large install package? I don't even bother. Sure, it works locally, but the upload speed of the company's internet connection isn't fast enough to do large copies or installs remotely. (Which is why I'm wondering about copying a large file.) I usually get a "Communication Error".

  • How to install packages from removable media?

I'm pretty damn sure that i missed some wiki page, but i cannot find it, how do i install packages without an internet connection. I installed on one of my computers, then realized i needed to install the wireless drivers after the install, which i cannot. I can ofcourse reinstall, but i believe there must be a possibility to make pacman install a bunch of packages from USB or a cd. I do have internet at my other computer, so i can download the packages there onto a usb-stick.

    Hi,
    you should try
    pacman -U /path/to/package.pkg.tar.gz
I haven't tried this but that's the way one would manually install a package build with PKGBUILD and "made" with makepkg.
    Hope that helps.

At a guess, it seems like English might not be your first language. I would recommend you try asking in the Other Languages sub-forum. At least, LibreOffice is in the official repositories, so you shouldn't need to deal with the AUR if you don't want.

I have to downgrade some packages (linux package due to ath5k problem), but pacman won't allow me because of the signatures.
I downloaded the packages i need from here http://schlunix.org/archlinux/.
These packages are safe to install? How can i bypass the signature check, if these packages are safe to install?
    Thanks.

If you have a pgp key, you can sign the packages with your own key. You can do this by editing /etc/makepkg.conf, adding your key to the  GPGKEY="" section and enabling the sign option in the BUILDENV section. When building the package, it'll then be signed with your personal key. Afterwards import your key in pacman (pacman-key -r <yourkey>), assign the proper trust level and you're good to go.
A workaround is to temporarily set "SigLevel = Never" in your /etc/pacman.conf (and hence disabling keysigning).
EDIT: I just bothered to actually check your link and you'll be installing prebuilt binaries, so my first explanation doesn't apply there (you won't be building anything). So just setting SigLevel to Optional or Never (temporarily) should do.

  • How to install package's man page

    Hi all!
I'm the maintainer of pcsx2-svn in AUR and currently the installation process doesn't install the man page automatically. In the source code I have a "pcsx2.man" file, that I'm gzipping and moving to the correct man folder. See command:
    gzip -9 "${pkgdir}/opt/pcsx2/docs/pcsx2.man"
    mv "${pkgdir}/opt/pcsx2/docs/pcsx2.man.gz" "${pkgdir}/usr/share/man/man1/pcsx2.1.gz"
Is there a more proper way to do this in Archlinux?
    Thanks in advance!
p.s.: `make install` will not install the man page, only the translation files.

Ah, simple as that? I didn't how this works until now... Thanks, falconindy!

  • Newbie: How to install packages from remote desktop?

    Hi,
I have installed Solaris using Reduced Network without installing Volume Management. Now, I want to add more packages. I have tried to copy e.g. SUNWmfrun directory from my Windows XP desktop and SFTP/SSH to the remote Solaris server. Maybe because it is not a pkg but a directory; therefore, pkgadd cannot find a package to install. And I fail to use pkgtrans because lack of knowledge. What steps should I do?
    Regards,
    Terence

    It should be something like
    [local]
    Server = file:///path/to/packages

  • How to install package files to another place

    Hi geeks,
I have my Hdd splitted acording to this schema:
    /dev/hda1 - winxp-c:\
    /dev/hda2 - lnx-swap
    /dev/hda3 - /boot
    /dev/hda4 - extended
    /dev/hda5 - arch-root (6GB)
    /dev/hda6 - /mnt/daaata (rest)
In Windows age I installed big programs and games to dedicated partition, out of system partition (typicaly D:\). Because I have 6GB root partition a big /mnt/daaata partition with tens-of-GBs, I want to ask:
    > Is there a posibility to install e.g. Torcs or another big game package to my dedicated big partition?

The location for packages is fixed in the PKGBUILD and points to /usr (majority) or /opt .
You could try symlinking /usr and/or /opt to folders on your daaata partition, but atm pacman seems to have trouble with symlinks.
The easiest solution would be to create a separate partition for /usr.

right :) an instance of a component needs to be either

  • How to install/add packages to org.apache

    hi everyone!
i'm pretty new with Java and i wanted to know how to install a package i downloaded from "http://www.apache.org/dist/jakarta/". the package name is poi and i have no clue how to do it so i'll be able to import some classes from it in my code... (i tried to just paste it the file src.zip at the location org/apache but it didn't worked)
    thanks for you help,
    shimon ;)

"install" isn't really the right word. You'll have to learn to think differently about JARs in Java. because you don't "install" them and your apps don't get access to them via the operating system. They're more like dynamic link libraries or DLLs in Windows parlance.
What you should do is figure out what a standard directory structure for all your applications will be, maybe something like this:
    application
    +
+------source (put your .java source files in their package structure under here)
+------lib (put your 3rd party JAF files under here)
+------classes (compile your .class files to this directory)
So in this case you'd put the POI JAR under /lib for your project. Tell Eclipse that /source is where it should expect to find all the .java file, that /class is the output directory for all compilations. Right click on the project folder, select "Properties", and add all the JARs to the build class path. Then you'll be all set with Eclipse.
Tell Eclipse that application is the root of your project. Tell
