How to install patch in silent mode

All,
I need to install Oracle patch 40 (oracle version 11.1.0.7) in silent mode. Please suggest method.
As per oracle it says its documented in Readme.txt but i can't find that information.

How to install patches in DWM?

I've been trying but I can't figure out how to install patches in DWM. For instance I'm trying to install the Fancybar pathc from the DWM. I tried to do this by going to my dwm directory, run patch -p1 < ~/fancybar-r1496.diff, then rebuild DWM with makepkg -efi --skipinteg and finally restart DWM.. But it doesn't work
What am I doing wrong?

Installing JRE in silent mode

Need to install JRE in Linux in silent mode (have to give yes to license agreement with no user intervention). I tried the following ways
1. In Shell Script : expect -re "Do you agree to License"
Send - yes/r
2.. Ran from command line: /jre.bin -acceptlicense=yes
3. Ran from command line : ./jre.bin -silent
Above options did not work, let me know whether we have any other option ?

On your oracle installation CD , there will be directory disk1/stage/response .. In this directory you can find the response file that can be used for installation. Just edit the file to provide the values for ORACLE_HOME , ORACLE_SID , Type of Installation into it. Setup the env for ORalce installation . After creating the necessary directories and preparing the operating system for installation , You can use the following command to install Oracle in Silent mode.
./runInstaller -silent -responseFile /disk1/media/response/10gR2.rsp

How to install eLearning Suite silently without the license agreement prompt

I was able to install the eLearning Suite 1.0 by following the guideline "How to install Captivate Silently". I used the "setup --mode=silent --deploymentFile=install.xml" method, and that worked except one thing. Adobe Air prompted for a License Agreement, and I also got a demo screen pop up. How do I supress these two pop ups when using the silent mode setup? I know how to do this for Captivate, but folder structures are different in eLearning Suite.

Let me know if this summary is correct:
1. If possible allways let Vista install apps in default directories.
2. Adobe apps and their newer versions are by default installed in new directories (except for Acrobat). For example CS4 MC would be installed as a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. Another example, eLearning Suite 4 would be installed as a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. Therefore all settings in each newly installed application need to be set up. Does each application then have its own unique data directory structure?
3. Since each Suite is a separate entity each license is seperate. This avoids cross license issues between different Suites.
4. If a user allways wants the same (latest) version of an application to load then one must manually uninstall old versions in the other Suites.
For example, as a default install eLearning Suite 4 would be a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. The user would then delete the following older CS3 applications (as the newer versions are in eLearning Suite 4):
Photoshop CS3 Extended
Flash CS3 Professional
Dreamweaver CS3
Soundbooth CS3
Except for Acrobat as the default install would have updated the CS3 version.

I removed the last 3 entries involving notification email, but got the same error.

Finally figured this one out.
It happens when oracle.install.db.config.starterdb.type is set to TRANSACTION_PROCESSING.
Apparently "TRANSACTION_PROCESSING" and "GENERAL_PURPOSE/TRANSACTION_PROCESSING" are not valid types, even though the response template file and the response file generated via OUI list the following:

How to install OracleXE 11g silent?

I'm trying 2 days to install OracleXE 11g R2 in silent mode. But somehow it stops immediatly after it extracted the Files, then i can read in the log File only [ResponseResult]ResultCode=-3. I couldn't find any other Logdata even in c:\windows .
On both systems 32/64 bit Windows 7 SP1 Pro Edition with following command:
c:\oraclexe-install\setup.exe /S /f1"c:\oraclexe-install\setup.iss" /f2"c:\oraclexe-install\setup.log"
Of course readed all the Documentation and tried many Solutions from other Forums. One of them is here:

The Problem is i can't even install on 32 Bit system. Very strange thing is above Solution works with 10g, . Can somebody help me? Or tell me what i'm doing there wrong?
Other Solution was with creating the response file during the installation with the command "setup.exe /r ". Even with correct response file it's not working.

Some progress....
Try adding the following to your command to create a log of the MSI installer:
c:\oraclexe-install\setup.exe /S /f1"c:\oraclexe-install\setup.iss" /f2"c:\oraclexe-install\setup.log" /v"/L*c:\oraclexe-install\oracle-msi.log\" /qn"
When I reviewed the MSI log file, I had a message about the port being reserved by another service. I change the HTTP port in the ISS file and the silent install succeeded. I am running an Apache server on 8080, so I had changed the port to 8081 in the answer file. Not sure why (port 8081 is not in use), but the silent installer did not like that. Your issue may be different from the port, but maybe you can see what the error is in the MSI log.

What patches are we taking about?
Oracle patches? Yes then you have to use
0. First read the installation note given on metalink it gives your a detailled description what shall be done.
In metalink go to Patches & updates
make a simple search on your patch and read the read me file
Please control also that the file downloaded is consitent by controlling the value of the "patch digest"
for example :

You can check for any invalid objects by executing following statement:

GumasYou need to apply the patch driver u3944888.drv using adpatch like any other patch.
Just make sure you apply all the patches under "Prerequisite Updates" before applying the patch.

How to install Patch 14503114

I am trying to install Oracle patch 14503114 using Windows Server 2008R2. I am running Oracle 11g R2. I tried to go by the readme.txt but its not working. Does anyone know how to install oracle patches using opatch?

The instructions for that patch are generic, so unfortunately he is looking at the right ones.
The options I can think of are: 1) set the environment variables or 2) add the opatch location to your path variable.

The easiest way to create a response file is by starting the wizard, filing in the blanks on all pages and save the result before the wizard asks you to install. Just stop here.

How to Run Rman in silent mode

when i run rman command to connect with the database then I get the following information message,
