  • Having problems re-installing Photoshop CS3 onto my Mac

Hi, I am having a few problems with re-installing Photoshop CS3 (consisting of licensed versions of CS and the CS3 upgrade) onto my Mac after a repair.  I run a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Powerbook and OSX mountain Lion).  On installation I had to ok the following error messages...."Could not import clipboard because unexpected end of file was encountered" and "Could not Synchronize colour settings because of program error" CS3 is running but simple action requests such as levels are unavailable in the batch processing and Adobe Bridge quits unexpectedly all the time aswell.  Any advice on how to get a quality re-install and/or how to fix these problems?  Any help much appreciated:)
    Ian.

I do not know what I did differently this time, but I finally got this printer to install. I wish I could leave a better solution in case others are running into a similar problem; however, I honestly have nothing to say besides uninstalling everything and then installing it again using the HP Printer Install Wizard.

  • How to install Photoshop CS3 without cd drive?

I have Photoshop CS3  installing cd. Now I have no longer cd drive on my new laptop. Earlier you have told to download trial version and then give serial number for full version of softwear. But Photoshop CS3 is no longer on trial download list. What shall I do?

if you follow all 7 steps you can dl the trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
use your serial number to activate.

  • How to install Photoshop CS6 Extended for Mac with no DVD drive?

I have bought the Photoshop CS6 Extended for Students for my new Mac and realized that I don't have a DVD drive to install it on. Is there a way that I can install the program without the cd? I have looked into the "free trial then activate" route and Adobe no longer offers a free trial for Photoshop CS6 Extended.

Here is a link to a page with the links for downloading CS6 applications:

  • How to install Photoshop CS3 disc on a Retina MacBook Pro?

Just bought a new Retina Macbook pro and trying to install CS3... the program from my old Macbook would not work when moved to the new one. I have the original disc but this will not work on new Macbooks without a drive.
    Anyone any ideas?

Feel free to contact support, but they'll only give you the finger, metaphorically. There is no support for old versions beyond sorting out your activation. And you get what was to be expected. All Adobe apps must be properly installed. Copying the installer files to a USB stick will work just fine. If for soem reason that's not possible, download using this method:
Direct Download Links for Adobe Software
You'll still run into trouble, though. CS3 was never tested on contemporary versions of OSX nor will it deal properly with Retina displays. As a minor, you will have to enable the half-res option in your display prefs during install and possibly usage of the program...

  • Installing Photoshop CS3 on a MBA

Hey guys, I need your help.
Here's my problem: How to install Photoshop CS3 Upgrade on a MBA?
I've tried first using Remote Disc - it installs but when I open PH CS3 there's a window saying that a few files are missing because the original installer is out of place, and asking to reinstall. It doesn't work.
Second try _ I copy PH CS3 from my MacBook using an USB stick and install- the same window appears.
Third try- I copied the whole PH CS3 install DVD to an USB stick, copied to my desktop and the same thing.
I believe the installer is looking for a previous version, but how can I tell PH that I've a previous version and how to point in that direction.
    Any help is welcome.
P.S. With Illustrator CS3 I didn't have any problem, and it's also an Upgrade.
    Thanks
    Pedro

    Happy ending of the "saga".
I tried downloading from the Adobe site more than 20 times, and never got it through, so, I did what I wasn't willing to do: bought a SuperDrive for the MBA, trashed everything with the word "Adobe", and reinstalled first PH CS3, which went very smooth, then, reinstalled Illustrator CS3, and it also went perfect.
The reason I decided to buy the SuperDrive was simply because I didn't want to spend endless hours doing the installation of PH and Il using Remote Disc.
Remote Disc is a good idea, but not for massive installations, since it crawls when compare to the SuperDrive.
Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions and help.
    I love my NBA.
    Regards
    Pedro

i have switched from PC to Mac how do i use my windows version  of adobe photoshop CS3 on my MAC?

    rebel1568,
All Photoshop versions through CS6 came with platform-specific licenses, either Windows or PC.  You could get a cross-grade of platform swap at a nominal cost but not for older versions, only for whatever Photoshop versions was current at the time.
CS3 is totally out of the upgrade or cross-grade loop.  You'd have to buy a new license for CS6 Mac or subscribe to Photoshop CC, as Trevor points out.
Curt Y is correct in that CS2 will not run on current Mac-Intel machines.  You would need a used Mac G5 or G4 with a PowerPC (IBM) CPU, which have been obsolete since mid 2006.
Of course, you could run your Windows  on your Mac if you installed and ran BootCamp or Parallells.

  • How do I transfer photoshop cs3 from my mac powerbook to my macbook air?

How do I transfer my photoshop cs3 from my mac powerbook to my macbook air?

Download the Trial version to the MacBook Air from
    http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first otherwise the links won't work.
Then launch the Trial and enter your CS3 serial number and you're done.
That'll use up your second (of 2) activation. If you want to remove Photoshop CS3 from the Powerbook then open Photoshop Help > Deactivate then uninstall to free up an activation.

  • How do I install Photoshop CS3?

My computer crashed and i need to reinstall photoshop CS3.  i cannot find this application online

How did you install Photoshop CS3 originally? If you originally had the application on disk but no longer have the disks available, you'll need to download a copy (unless you can find someone who still has a disk). If you originally purchased it from us via download, just log into your account and you can download another copy. If you need to download, but didn't download it from us originally, you can get a copy from here: http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
And Frank, CS6 will continue to be available for sale (not "rent") for the foreseeable future.

Wondered if anyone else experienced problems installing Photoshop CS3 on Windows 7?
It works, but there are known problems with installation and use so you should consult the Adobe support forums. If you're trying to install it on a new PC, just get the latest upgrade package from Adobe. You'll get A LOT more out of the latest version than you would CS3 since CS3 doesn't support the newer technology and lacks hardware acceleration.

Why can I no longer open images with Photoshop CS3, running on Mac OS 10.4.11?

You may be able to drag and drop the icons from one toolbar onto another, you can then hide the toolbar that you no longer need. For details on how to do that see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar

I have just installed Photoshop Elements for a MAC. MY photos were in iPhoto, I have 47,000 pictures and my drive on my Mac laptop is not large enough. I store my photos in iPhoto on an external drive. Can I store all my photos on an external drive when using Photoshop Elements? If so, in what format should they be stored in? I do I move them from iPhoto to the new storage location? How do I call them up in organizer? And how do I call them up to Edit? I do not want to store any pictures on my Apple Mac laptop. I want to store pictures on several external devices.

Yes you can store images on an external hard dive and have them referenced in Organizer. It’s best to export copies to separate folders/subfolders and that will ensure iPhoto does not get corrupted.
Alternatively you could continue to use iPhoto with the Elements Editor set up in the iPhoto prefs as your external editing app. Then there is no need to use Organizer and no need to duplicate your images.
You can then call up photos directly from iPhoto as normal with the additional option e.g.
Double-click on a thumbnail to edit in iPhoto editor.
Control (right) - click on a thumbnail to edit in the elements app.

trying to launch photoshop cs3 on a mac running OS10.6.8 i keep getting the error message: Licensing for this product has stopped working  you cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT adminstrator or Adobe customer support for help
I already Uninstalled and reinstalled the product and it still does not work.

    Hi,
Try to uninstall the software again and you have to manually
    Delete the following folders:
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher/
Go to Applications-->Utilities-->Disk Utility, Open it and Select the MAC HD and then click on Repair permissions.
After that try to run the cleaner tool as mentioned by kglad.
Restart machine and then try to install again.
*** Make sure , you only delete these folders if there is no other adobe applications installed on the machine. As if you have any other Adobe application of the suite ( not free applications ) then it will be a problem.
