How to install Runtime Platform for more than one database on one machine

Hi,
What the docs loosely call Runtime Platform Service is in my opinion a combination of
A) a bunch of software (installed under an ORACLE_HOME)
B) the actual service process
My question: if I have more than one databases on one machine, each containing an OWB Runtime, am I correct in assuming that I have to install the Runtime Platform software only once, but there will be a separate service process running for each database, each adressing the same Runtime Platform software? So under ORACLE_HOME nothing is kept that refers to a particular database?

Yes, we use such a configuration on our site. We have one OWB ORACLE_HOME and uses up to 4 instances. Each instance has its own Runtime Service Process running.

I'm unclear on what you're talking about, because you keep on talking about users and clients... how many actual machines need the software? Note that the number of users on a particular machine is unimportant. There is no limitation on that based on the licensing.

Problems installing SSL certificates for more than one alias on iMS 5.2

I have a problem to getting encyption on IMAP/HTTP/SMTP when they are on the same server. I only getting one SSL certificate installed by the Netscape console wizard, and therefore only one alias.
Let's say I have 3 aliases to the same server just for the scalability, imap.vxu.se, smtp.vxu.se and mail.vxu.se for http (https). Then I can only have one certificate installed at the same time, for example https://mail.vxu.se. And the others, like (S)IMAP I getting a dialouge that says the hostname doesnt is the same as the registred in the certificate. How do I solve this? Is there some possibillity to install more than ONE certificate, so I can have one certificate for each alias?
Environment: Full 420R, Solaris 8, iMS5.2

Although I completely agree the comments that suggestion this is not a great configuration idea, the error you are seeing ("...bean not found...") likely has nothing to do with the configuration - at least not as mentioned. My first guess is that if you are running the same exact form (FMX) as you ran for your first test then there should be no error. The only way such an error would appear is if the proper jar files are not being pulled to the client JRE or if the fmx was not properly generated. Be sure you are including config=webutil in the URL or that you have added the Webutil configuration info to your own named configuration section of formsweb.cfg
Regardless, if this is a Windows machine, the probability of having problems with multiple installations of the same version is high. Consider that the system PATH, CLASSPATH, ORACLE_HOME and various other system variables needed by the server side of the installation will overlap for each installation. This will cause problems. On the client side, attempting to download jars of the same name from the same server, but which are not actually the same files will confuse the JRE. If the JRE detects that a file which it has already cached is coming from the same server (host) then it will not attempt to pull it again. This will be a problem if the jars are not exactly the same in both installation. Making the problem worse is that you may not be able to easily determine from which installation the jars (or any files) were obtained.
So. as a general rule, regardless of whether multple installations can co-exist, I would not recommend it. This is especially true on a Windows platform.

The trick is to combine classTyler's conditional <tt>class</tt> technique with a custom named column report template.
Determine a class for the row in the query:

The same reason that Apple and 3rd Party vendors put multi-size templates in one file I expect. I am trying to construct an in-house standard template for use in our company, and it is easier to manage if there is only one file to send to people rather than many - both initially and for subsequent edits / updates to the template.
Of course it would be possible to create several templates (one for each size). But since it is clear that templates can be combined, it appears sensible to do this - unless the doing of it is horridly complicated

How Do I Use iTunes For More Than 1 iPhone?

My wife just upgraded her phone to the iPhone 5 and wanted to download all of her apps to the new phone. I though it would be as simple as logging into her iTunes account through the iTunes software on my PC and then just download them through the program. But of course nothing is simple when dealing with Apple. Instead of simply listing the apps associated with her iTunes account it lists a bunch of random apps from my iPhone. How do I see the iTunes apps associated with her account? Right now it seems like the only option is to go into the iTunes store through her phone and download each app individually.

That doesn't make any sense. She's logged into iTunes, We shouldn't have to create separate accounts on our PC. That should be handled by the iTunes software. If I log into say Netflix from my friends computer it will go to MY Netflix account. I wouldn't need to create an entire profile on his PC just to access my account.

I'm configuring EM on Oracle 10gRel1 on Linux. I have more than one databases in the server, and I want use IE at my PC to monitor the databases on Linux server. I can configure and access the Grid Control Console by emca for first database, but cannot configure for the second one, unless I remove the first one configurration. How can I configure EM for more than one databases?

Yes, I'm talking about DBConsole rather than Grid Control (sorry for misuse the term). I managed to set up DB Console for every DB in the same Linux box (10Rel1). What I did is:
1) stop db console and agent with emctl
2) remove repository with RepManager
3) config with emca
Then I can monitor individual databases from my PC (but have to login with different port).
I'm thinking mybe I should use Grid Control instead.

This entirely depends on the form you create, you can add multiple choice button and ask for the no. of employees the organization wants to register.

Hi,
I think this means that there is an object for your application properties with a size that exceeds the maximum size of the database field.
This is probably caused by the concatenation of all your properties of all your apps in the ear.
To solve this problem you can merge some applications to limit the amount of properties saved in the db.
A second solution could be to use different ear-files instead of 1 for all applications.
The third option is to find out how PROPS_STR_STR:ApplicationProperties is build up. Then you can limit the size of these properties.
