You will have to reinstall OS X. In the future ignore such things. Don't click on any links or dial any phone numbers. They are all phishing scams.
Deleting Safari was not a solution.

  • Cannot Install Safari Extensions

    Greetings,
Trying to install an extension on my Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25.1)
An extension installed successfully, but after Safari restart its all gone.
Does not matter which extension and how many,
After install I can see extensions in Safari Preferences window, but not after a restart.
I can see newly installed extensions in ~/Library/Safari/Extensions/ folder, the folder has correct permissions and owner.
Even though there are extensions in ~/Library/Safari/Extensions/ , Safari does not "sees" it after a restart.
It seems like this problem is specific to my PC, as I have checked it with other people - they don't experience it.
    Please help !

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to search for an item named "Safari Extensions List". If found, delete it. Quit Keychain Access.
    Quit and relaunch Safari.

  • Error while trying to install safari extensions on Macbook Pro Retina

    Dear All,
Yesterday I had to re-install Mountain Lion OS on MacBook Pro Retina. Everything went smoothly however after the installation process and updating sytem to the newest possible version, I am not able to install any Safari extensions. I was trying to find any information in the internet about this but so far I am unsuccessful in solving this issue. I am currently running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.1. I would be grateful for any help.
    Best Regards,
    Jan

    Back up all data now.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

*Hi munna, Welcome* to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
*Francine Schweider* a |||| bar poster in these forums has what I think is an excellent thought.
"I plan to buy my next computer before Leopard comes out. Why? Because generally new Mac computers will not run any system older than the one they ship with, I want to be able to use the fully mature Tiger system, rather than having to rely entirely on Leopard. Who knows whether the software I own will be fully compatible with Leopard? Or how long it will take for developers (think Adobe) to update if there are incompatibilities with Leopard. Or even just how stable and reliable and all like that Leopard will be.
    Francine"
Your problem is an example of why her advice is so sound. Hopefully you have a Tiger System clone that you made in case there were Leopard install problems. Keep it and boot from it when you needs apps that are not Leopard ready.

  • How to install cf extensions?

I have downloaded a zip file from macromedia containing
    extensions for
cf. I can't find any further instructions.
Anybody know how to install them?
    The file is called CF_FBExtensions_B3_0515.zip
    Doug

Yes I found this page before, but when you dig in you find
    that
Extension Manager does not work with zip files and adds the
    handy note
that the help files in extension manager have masses of
    useful information.
A search for 'zip' in these help files returns 'nothing
    found'. Very useful.
Does anyone at Macromedia know how to install these files???

  • How to search Safari Extensions Gallery on the Apple site?

This is a question for Safari users about the Apple.com/safari website.
How do I search the Safari Extensions Gallery on their website? The search bar at the top only searches the whole Apple site.
Just like with Widgets, it seems that Apple doesn't really want me to find anything useful to improve my Safari (or Dashboard) experience(s).
    Frustrated with Apple lately,
    DL Moon

    Thanks, Carolyn.
The categories feature is somewhat helpful, but I can never guess which categories I'll find things in. For example, there is no productivity category, although there is in iTunes. It seems reasonable to expect the same categories throughout the Apple domain, but this is not always the case. Therefore, searching for Evernote extension is tricky.
For this reason, I'm looking for the actual search, just like in the app store, so that I can just key in the extension I'm searching for and find it more easily. Does that exist? or is it a missing feature of the Safari Extensions Gallery?
    Thanks,
    DLM

  • How to install PMD extension for JDEV 11g TP4 ?

    Hi,
I tried to install PMD extension to JDEV 11g TP4 without success.
Check for updates doesn't bring this extension.
Tools --> Preferences --> extension brings following message:
The ide.extensions or ide.noextensions system properties are set and override user extension preferences. To configure extensions, unset these properties and restart.
Release notes of JDev 11g TP4 says:
In this release, users are unable to manage extensions from the Tools > Preferences, Extensions page. The user will instead see the following message:
The ide.extensions or ide.noextensions system properties are set and override user extension preferences. To configure extensions, unset these properties and restart.
Is there a other way to add this extension?
    regards

    Hello John,
But for TP1 there was an extension available.

  • How to install .xpi extension through cmd on windows in firefox

i need steps to install .xpi extension through cmd on windows in firefox

Is '' -install-global-extension'' still valid or has it been deprecated ?
    * see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Command_Line_Options?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Command_Line_Options#Add-ons
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installing_extensions#Global_installation
    * and the Firefox 4 changes <br /> https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Extensions/Updating_extensions_for_Firefox_4#XPI_unpacking
Firefox 4 no longer extracts XPIs when installing extensions. It just places the XPI file in the user profile, and then reads the chrome files and others directly out of the XPI.
If your .xpi is not from Mozilla addons I guess we may not be sure what it is intended to do, or what version of Firefox it was designed for.

  • How to install global extensions in FF4 ?

Drop the XPI's into the \extensions\ folder in Firefox program files.

  • How to install Safari on D: ?

    Hello,
Safari installs itself on "C:\Program Files\" but that's annoying to me as this is my system drive and has not much room left. I'd like all my apps to go to "D:\Program Files\".
The Safari installer gave me no choice. Is there a way to have a choice ?
    Thanks

First off is your "D" drive your "Windows Recovery" drive if so then that your problem. You should go to the Apple site and download the new version of Safari from there. Then you double click to install it and it will ask you where you would like to put this file. You can also make sure that you are on that portioned section of your hard drive before you install safari.

  • How to install Safari 3.2 to replace Safari 4?

In an effort to regain URL Snapback, I've tried to reinstall Safari 3.2 on both my Leopard MBP and my wife's Tiger MBP, but when I get to the location page, my internal drive is disallowed.
I tried putting Safari 4 in the trash, along with all of its preferences from the Home Library.
Can anyone figure out how to do this?
    Many thanks,
    Chris

"Those who for some reason do not want to continue using the fastest, safest version of Safari (4.0.2) and want to revert back to an older version, rather than find out how to correct their faulty system ..."
Don't be so sanctimonious. I am using Safari 4.0.2 installed from Safari4.0.2Leo.dmg. That package appears to have been incorrectly signed by Apple (see below), which seems to make the Leopard firewall not trust Safari to receive incoming network connections. The result is an unpleasant experience for this user. Although I believe Apple may be to blame here, I have been seeking help on various forums in case my system is somehow at fault. But since the same problems are occurring on both my Macs, I suspect the problem is not with my systems.
I really don't want to have to reinstall OS X and then use Software Update to correct this situation. I'm hoping someone (or Apple) can provide me with a better option.
