Let me introduce myself iam Ravi.i just joined this group and also new to SAP environment.i want to install
SAP 4.7 IDES on my computer. can any body plz help me how to install it on PC or any website or document where i get the information.I have 512 MB Ram and 160GB HDD, P4 2.4 GHZ is it sufficent or still i require furthur updation. Please guide me

How to install BW 3.5 IDES?

Dear all,
Yesterday, I got the BW 3.5 IDES installation DVD,unfortunately, there is not any installation master DVD that can be used for starting installation, in addtion, I can not find any installation guide from service.sap.com, so could you please tell me to how to install BW.3.5 ides and how can I get the installationmaster DVD to install it?

I Installed Sap 4.7 IDES in which Standard Tables Has NO RECORD

HI every one,
this Abdul Rahman , i have installed sap 4.7 ides but does'nt have any Record in standard table i.e. KNA1,VBAK,
.... etc .
How can i update/place that record's with out installing SAP 4.7 ides again I DONT KNOW WHY RECORD's are not installed , Is there any mistakes done in installation. Is there any Patches that can work or any other alternatives plz help me , i am not able to understand.

This is Abdul Rahman, i recently install SAP 4.7 ides , but i have seen there is no DATA RECORDS IN STANDARD TABLE like KNA1, VBAK, --- ETC, i cannot practice REPORTS and some Fundamentalls in ABAP PROGRAMMING.
What should do plz lets me know,
Do i need to install SAP 4.7 ideas again, (or)
updateing for ORACLE (or) any others alternatives ,

Hi Ashok,
You cannot install it on windows XP. You need to have a server version of windows (2000, 2003). Or, also on linux, but for that you'll need another installation.

Hi Raja,
Use t code SLICENCE in your ecc6 and solman.
Determine the hardware key.
Go to sap market place. click on 'Keys & Requests' tab. Here select 'Request permanent license key' tab. Enter the required information. This way you'll get the license key.
Now go back to the SLICENSE in sap. select 'EDIT' - 'Install license key'' (F6).
Log in to client 000 with DDIC for installing the license.
As per my knowledge you dont need to install oracle key because, oracle comes in a bundle package with SAP.

I just want to know how can I install SAP? What are the required programs to install SAP because I tried to install SAP (MaxDB, SQL Studio and SAP webtools) but i can't open MaxDB I always got an error "Can not create the FileSystemObject from the Microsoft Scripting runtime library (scrrun.dll)" Error 429."
Is it ok to download the programs related to SAP and install it to my PC? If yes, please help me to install it properly. Please give me step-by-step installation and configuration to run it properly.

Follow these steps while installing XI:
1. Windows server or advanced server with latest service patch.
2. IE 6.0 with latest service patch
3. Install Microsoft office and winzip, acrobat
4. Install JDK with version 1.4.2_03 or above with the corresponding JVM
5. Install the SAP GUI 6.20
6. Make sure that you have hard disk space of 10 GB in C drive and 50 GB in the installation drive.
7. Make sure the virtual memory is between 512 and 1594 or above for the installation drive.
8. Copy the dumps of following DVDs into the installation drive.

Additonal Components for SAP BW/SAP XI,SAP MI,SAP KW
SAP Web As Java
9. Start the installation from the DVD dump Installation Master DVD.
10. When installing the ABAP Database the SID of the oracle default database should be different the ABAP database SID.

The best way to learn XI would be to make the maximum use of XI from its forums, weblogs, presentations, etc in SDN.
First I thought I will just give u the basic steps involved in doing any scenario in XI. This is very essential for a beginner.
First of all you would need to define your product, software component, business system and configure the technical landscape in the sld.
You then go on to create the objects in the repository, you import your software component here and then begin your design steps. To import your RFCs n Idocs if you require any before proceeding.
Then under the name space which you want, you go on to define your data types, message types and message interfaces.
Then you do your message mappings where you specify your source and target message types and the relation between them, then you do your interface mapping. If you are using a BPM, you do the integration process.
Once you have this done, you will have to move to the directory, here is where you define how you use the objects and how you configure them to work as a scenario.
You assign your business system to the configuration scenario which you have created, and create the communication channels. Then you go on to configure the receiver determination, interface determination, and the sender and receiver agreements. Once youre done you will have make sure you activate your objects. The exact parameters steps depend on what kind of scenario you are implementing.
You can use sxmb moni or the runtime workbench to monitor the entire scenario which you have done.

Let me appreciate all your help and support for new guyz like me.
I am trying to install the SAP 4.7 IDES on a system
Configuration:
--250 GB HDD
--2 GB DDR RAM
-- 2.4 GHZ celeron processor
-- Win 2K SP4 OS
during installation installed i did the following process
--Installing loopback adapter
--Installing JAVA
--Installing oracle 9.2
--R3 kernel
-- Completed the Central instance without any problem
-- When continuing with the database instance i am getting the following error message ( Selected local installation)

Yeah i am trying to install it with the same user 'Administrator' in which i have installed the central instance,
I am using win 2k sp4, where when granting the security options for c:/user and c:/user/sap -
i am giving all the permissions to every user available in the system.
but still i am getting this issue i am getting confused what wrong i might have been doing, is there any way that i log in to SQL and then the sap installation detects it.
please suggest me what to be done.
