How to install SQL Mgmt Studio on the front end
SQL 2008 R2
I need to install SSMS on the front end server.
On the SQL Windows Server 2008 R2, When I click on START -->ALL PROGRAMS-->MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2008 R2
I see the following:
SQL Server Management Studio
Analysis Services
Configuration Tools
Integration Services
Performance Tools
Looking at the above list, I think SSMS has already been installed? What is a front end server?
Thanks for your help.
What is a front end server?
Thanks for your help.
That's not a good question I guess you were asking about whether SSMS is present or not you already got the answer. Front end is there any server can be front end server its name used for terminal server where user generally perform some action.
Front end is term used when dealing with 3 or N tier architecture which is beyond scope of this forum

RPM - How to re-process prices without using the front end.
Hi all,
There is a way of re-processing prices without using the front end? For instance, using the front end, a new clearance is created state in rpm_clearance ‘pricechange.State.conflictCheckforApproved’ and changed for ‘pricechange.State.worksheet’ after the conflict check.
Now, I want to re-process the same clearance without using the front end. I’ve tried to change again the STATE to ‘pricechange.State.conflictCheckforApproved’ but no success. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

How to install sql server 2012 using the license of sql 2014
Hello,
We want to install sql server 2012 on a server because of an application that can not work with sql server 2014.
We have a license for sql server 2014. The license is not visible for sql 2014 in our licenses because it is now included in the installation package. We also can not get a license key for SQL 2012 server now.
How can we get a valid sql server 2012 license key?
Thanks,

How to check SQL Mamagement studio is installed or not (any version) programatically
How to check SQL Mamagement studio is installed or not (any version) programatically?
Secondly how to check if it is installed in other driver of a system(other than C drive) programatically. Thanks visakh16,
Actually i do not want to read/write registry from SQL Server like you replied 'Accessing The Registry From SQL Server' link
and i dont want to check manually in registry.even i am aware of all registry path.. programmatically (by C# or VB.NET) i want to get that yes SSMS is installed of not even if it is installed in other drive(other than C Drive).. Beacause if it is installed
on the system , i want to launch that. i can launch, login for specific user/database, but i want to know, is it installed or not any version of SSMS befoe launch. This is my question... please review it..Thanks in advance..
Actually I tried this way..
Dim registryView As RegistryView = If(Environment.Is64BitOperatingSystem, registryView.Registry64, registryView.Registry32)
Using hklm As RegistryKey = RegistryKey.OpenBaseKey(RegistryHive.LocalMachine, registryView)
'Dim instanceKey As RegistryKey = hklm.OpenSubKey("SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\Instance Names\SQL", False)
If instanceKey IsNot Nothing Then Return True
Return False
' For Each instanceName In instanceKey .GetValueNames()
' Next
'End If
End Using
Here i am checking for instances but i want to check only SQL Management Studio is installed or not..Thanks again -

How to install SQL Enterprise Manager (ECC6+Win2003).
regards,
devHi,
Server type is normally "Database Engine". You can use the Dev. Studio to connect to various other types (e.g. Reporting Services, Analysis Service etc.)
The Servername is the instance name you want to connect to. For a default instance it is your machinename, for a named instance it is Machinename\Instancename.
Authentication can be Windows Authentication if you are logged on as a local Admin. For an ABAP System only Windows Authentication is possible, for a JAVA System the SQL authentication is necessary, so that you can logon as 'sa' with the password you provided in the setup.

Question about B1if-Database in SQL-Mgmt-Studio
Hello,
We have made some changes in the configuration in SLD.
We made some more Di-Proxy-Ports and then made Proxygroups for the Databases.
Nearly every half hour, in SQL-Mgmt Studio we can see this "task" ?
During the time, this task is online, the Queue-Monitor collects all Jobs... but not more.
After this Job has finished... B1i begins to work up the jobs.
Can anyone tell me something about "Rollback Transac" in B1if-Database ?
Thanks
MarkusPassing the exam and becoming certified are not a matter of simply reading a book or taking a training class. While books and classroom materials as well as in-class training are all important steps in preparing for an exam, experience and research are just as important. I cannot tell you that there are 53 questions on the exam and every single question maps directly back to page 13, paragraph 3 in XX book. However, If you have the classroom material, and you have the list of exam topics, you should be able to find most of the information you need. In some cases, if you are not completely familiar with a specific topic, or you don't feel like the information in the book gives you all the information you need, you may need to do a little additional research. This is all part of preparing for an exam. This process is what makes you successful as a certified professional.
Your focus seems to be solely on the course materials that you have and what volumes and chapters you should read. I'm trying to give you a different perspective - preparing for an exam is not necessarily about taking one course or reading one book and being ready. You need to review the exam topics and be sure that you are familiar with each topic.

Issue of Installing SQL Management Studio
Hi,
I still have an issue of installing SQL Management Studio 2012 or even any version, so it gives me errors and i don't know what to so with that. Many people saw that issue and no body could fix it, i really need your help and why SQL Management Studio can't
be installed in my Windows 7 64 bit
Thanks so much
RaedHi Raed,
According to your description, you fail to install SQL Server 2012 Management Studio on windows 7. It is supported to install SQL Server 2012 Management Studio on windows 7. Please help to post SQL Server setup error log for analysis. By default, SQL Server
setup summary and detail logs locate in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Make sure that your account has admin rights and you right-click the setup.exe and choose “Run as administrator” to install SQL Server. To troubleshoot the issue, please pay attention to the points below.
1.Make sure that you install or enable .NET 3.5 SP1.
2.Make sure that you install Windows 7 SP1.
3.Make sure that you install Windows PowerShell 2.0.
For more information about the process, please refer to the article:

How to let sql server 2008 know the table created at front end in c#
The best solution is to create table type and pass the DataTable as table-valued parameter. I have an article on my web site about this:
http://www.sommarskog.se/arrays-in-sql-2008.html
The full article is a bit of overkill for what you are doing right now, but just the few first pages should get you going.

How to install a business package in the portal ?
Hi everyone,
I am a beginner in SAP Netweaver Portal, and i have a question :
How to install a business package in the portal ?
Thanks & regards
HassanHi Hassan,
Well i would like to quote one more point here, although you can import a buss pack into the portal but there are some std methods to be followed for every thing in portal, When it comes to deploying a busines package, you should always do it from SDM only !! although we can use import facility. now let me tell you the difference between the two. When you use import, you are just putting the contents into the portal and not deploying it, where as using SDM you deploy the SCA files on your portal totally. you must be knowing that business packages are always delivered in SCA formats.

Ameya
